CLCM Event Participation 19-20 Christian Leadership & Church Ministries Event Report Class (Ex: CHMN 201, CLED 310, YOUT 220): YOUT 220 Event Topic: Camp Fair Date of Event: October 3 rd & 4th Speaker: Camp Ministry Fair Please use this section of the report to summarize your notes and reflect what you learned (250 words): Liberty hosted their annual camp ministry fair which I attended with some friends. The fair was super high energy and tons of fun. We walked around talking with different booths and camps, and everyone was motivated and excited to hear about potential staff’s heart for Christ. I loved learning about what each camp had to offer, and where their heart was for the campers and their staff. There was such a variety of camps that showed me a new perspective of camp, how there are endless amounts of opportunities not just for staff to work at, but for students to find themselves in a place that best fits them. Whether it’s a camp that fits one's more outdoorsy hobbies or a place that’s more music and craft-oriented. Or even if it's just a camp that has music and games, more fun! Regardless, there were so many different places for students to go and so many ways the Lord uses people for His kingdom. I loved knowing I was at a university that offered such opportunities. Whether my direct calling is through camp ministry or not, in general, anyone in ministry should take part in a summer camp at least once and experience the heart of these ministries. It is so empowering to see the Lord work in all of these aspects and how in awe I was to truly understand how many people all over the world have ties to not just liberty, but live and demonstrate Christ's love in all they say and do, through any place, and any workforce. Please use this section of the report to write one take-away or action as it relates to ministry or your ministry leadership: (This should be specific and measurable) I loved seeing how many different opportunities there were. This encouraged me that regardless of where the Lord sends, people long to know our hearts for the Lord and our passion for ministry. So, as I get further along during my time at Liberty, I’ll be able to discern between the organizations whose heart is after the heart of their staff and students and those who have intentions that are positive and aligned rightly with Christ. I was offered a position to work at a Sky Ranch and while I went through the interview process, I fell in love with their heart posture towards students and their motivation to help them grow in faith and find Christ with such a longing desire. As well as helping students realize our great need for Him.
