I chose war as a topic for creative works to explore themes of conflict, human nature, and the impact of war on society. "Whaam!" connects with me by showing how quickly destruction can happen in war. The bold imagery captures the sudden and chaotic nature of conflict, highlighting how easily destruction unfolds in wartime. The style also emphasizes the impact of violence, making me think about the fast and devastating effects of war. This work evokes a sense of excitement, action, and drama. The image of the fighter planes and the "Whaam!" sound make the artwork feel intense and dynamic. "Whaam!" by Roy Lichtenstein, created in 1963. https://www.tate.org.uk/art/artworks/lichtenstein-whaam-t00897 "Divided We Stand" connects with me by telling a story that goes beyond nationalities and conflicts. It makes me feel for the characters and think about how we're all similar as humans. The film encourages me to consider how we can find common ground and come together, despite our differences. This film invokes a range of emotions in me. The initial tension and conflict between the British and German soldiers created a sense of unease and apprehension. As the story progresses and they are forced to find common ground to survive, feelings of empathy, understanding, and even hope emerges as the barriers of nationality and conflict are transcended. "Divided We Stand!" by Calum Rhy, in 2020. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt10846308/?ref_=tt_mv_close "For the Fallen" connects with me by showing how sad it is when people lose their loved ones in war. It also makes me think about how the soldiers who die in war might not realize the full extent of their sacrifice. The poem evokes a sense of loss and remembrance for those who have died in war. "For the Fallen" by Laurence Binyon, in 1914. https://interestingliterature.com/2015/10/a-short-analysis-of-laurence- binyons-for-the-fallen/ In depth selected work: Roy Lichtenstein - Whaam!
