Running Head: Sleep Tight Inn 1 Sleep Tight Inn - Unit 2 Ava Onwu HRM 634 Planning and Staff Professor Liv Hale
Running Head: Sleep Tight Inn 2 In order to assist Mr. Valdez in developing a selection system for a Front Office Supervisor position, the team will need to identify the basic work-related characteristics. 2a. Identify and describe the various methods of job analysis. Include a comparison and contrast between the methods found. There are four different types of job analysis methods: job analysis interviews, job analysis questionnaires, critical incidents technique and SME or job expert workshops” (Gatewood, 2016, pp. 53-55). Job Analysis Interviews are the most often utilized techniques for work analysis, fit for meeting a wide cluster of purposes. “ Essentially a job analysis interview consists of a trained analyst asking questions about the duties and responsibilities, WRCs required, and conditions of employment for a job or class of jobs” (Gatewood, 2016, p. 55). The vital advance in portraying an occupation with this analysis strategy is identifying the basic employment responsibilities. Each responsibility is portrayed regarding factors, for example, WRCs needed for task execution and ecological conditions encompassing around execution. This option lacks standardization and “has limited possibilities for covering large numbers of respondents (Gatewood, 2016, p. 60). Next is the Job Analysis Questionnaire method. This method “consists of a questionnaire distributed to respondents through various means-in person, by a job analyst, by mail, or via an e-mail sent to participants , including a link to the questionnaire online” (Gatewood, 2016, p. 62). This type of analysis comes in a specific questionnaire form or a manufactured form. The Critical Incident Technique includes the advancement of a progression of social declarations created by administrators and other area specialists, for example, work occupants. The specialists

This strategy can speak to significant parts of the work yet may not speak to the full extent of the employment itself. Lastly, the SME Workshop method. This method is made up of various other methods, such as task analysis inventories and group interviews (Gatewood, 2016, p. 73). These workshops are comprised of parties or boards of less than 20 representatives per workshop. These sessions are facilitated by a group leader who will collect information for the analysis. 2b. Select a method of job analysis and design a form for how the method yields WRCs. Due the current state of country as a result of COVID-19, the most reasonable method is the Job Analysis Questionnaire method. This method will allow Mr. Valdez the opportunity to create a safe selection process for a Front Office Supervisor.
