In this lab I learned about hypervisors. Hypervisors are a fundamental technology in the
field of virtualization. They are software or hardware-based systems that create and manage
virtual machines or guests, allowing multiple operating systems to run on a single physical host
machine. Hypervisors serve as a layer of abstraction between the physical hardware and the
virtualized environments, enabling efficient and isolated sharing of computing resources.
Hypervisors play a big role in modern IT infrastructure, enabling flexibility, scalability, and cost
savings in data centers and desktop environments. I did this lab by downloading UTM. Which is
a level 2 hypervisor specifically designed for macs with a m2 chip. Virtual box VMWare was not
working for me so I looked up on the internet what I can download and UTM showed up. UTM
is amazing at making virtual machines and can do it very easily, emulating any operating system
that I want for the labs. All I had to do was install it and select my settings on the virtual
machine. What operating system I wanted, and all the settings on the actual machine that I would
want.
