Civic and Global Engagement / Diversity / Biblical Worldview Essay Kayna Wamsley Univ 101 10/2/2023 Biblical worldview is a very important aspect in the life of a believer. It shapes the way we see the world and how we should live every day. Biblical Worldview is seeing the world through the eyes of the bible. The foundation of having a biblical worldview is God’s word. The bible should sculpt our everyday thinking and outlook on the world. A student at Liberty University can develop biblical worldview by tuning in, paying attention to the words being poured into them. Whether it be at convocation, campus community, or in class, the staff members always seem to include biblical worldview as part of their everyday teaching. A student at Liberty can develop a stronger worldview outside of campus too. This is achievable by applying everything learned about biblical worldview to the outside world. For example, bringing everything that goes on around them back to scripture, and making the basis of their thinking. As a follower of Christ, my purpose is live for God. To do my best everyday to walk in his image and share his love to everyone, bringing him glory. During my time at Liberty, I hope to continue nursing school and graduate as an RN. I hope to grow closer in my relationship with Jesus and to make lasting friendships. In the future I hope to get married, have kids, and be successful in my career. Most importantly keeping Jesus at the center of everything I listed. I know having a biblical worldview is going to be tough with the career I chose, I might have to make tough decisions at times. I do know that I stand firm in what I believe in, and that my relationship with Jesus will always come before everything. Having a Christian worldview has made me very passionate about pursuing my education. I want to go out and follow the calling that God has for my life. The video “Diversity at Liberty University” defines culture as a way of life. There are many different ways of life like ethnicity, gender, religion etc. As Christians, we are called to love others, so because others may have different views or ways of life doesn’t mean we should avoid or treat them differently. When we put ourselves in situations with non-believers it gives us opportunities to share the gospel, and possibly lead them to Christ. The great commission for
believers is to go out, make disciples and baptize the nations in the name of the father, son, and holy spirit. Having a biblical worldview is important when it comes to fulfilling that calling for our lives. Without seeing the world through the lens of the bible we can never fulfil Gods calling for us. To reach all the nations, we must engage with everyone, no matter the differences. We must make this a habit in our everyday life. If we do not love like Christ loved, we will be turning others away from Christ rather than to him. After reading and watching the given assignments, I have been reminded about why having a biblical worldview is so important in my life and any Christians life. I have realized that although it may be scary to go out and share Christ and make disciples it a calling in every Christians life that we must respond to.
