Exegetical Paper: Biblical Map and Application Assignment Ephesians 6:10—20 Ja’Nelle Brazzle April 2024 NBST610_D07_202420
Introduction The book in the ancient biblical text Paul and ex-accuser of the followers of Jesus Christ, who became an Apostle after his face to face experience with the Risen Christ (Acts 9 kjv). Paul became an Apostle, and is known to write seven of the Pauline epistles. In the Book of Ephesians, Paul writes a letter to the church in Ephesus during the time of AD-61. The church was many in that area which received the letter which Paul wrote to address issues within the church and teach the people how to be devoted to Jesus Christ. While in Ephesus on a missionary trip Paul baptized 12 who he became engaged and started the foundation in that area, so, this letter was sent because he was unable to come himself. This letter which Paul sent to Ephesus addressed issues within the church for living in unity, multi-cultural situations (Jews and Gentiles), and how the people should live. During this tie one big issue is that some of the Jews living in that area were pious and the Greco Roman practices which surrounded them they felt a distaste to while the Romans felt that the customs of the Jews where irrelevant. Paul understood that there was a breach which had to be fixed with both cultures to bring unity to the entire nation through the teaching of Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit. The book of Ephesians is one of my favorite books of the cannon of ancient biblical text. Ephesians 6:10-20 I chose to theologically compose a guideline which can not only be used in the church but for those seeking stability in life which would lead them to Christ. Summary Apostle Paul in his compassion for the people composed a message which taught the people how to be successful in the faith. Paul urges the people to be strong and committed to God through faith and how to withstand the enemy and the evils which they face each day. Paul taught the people that there is an art to warfare and how prayer is a useful tool when engaging in warfare. Paul breaks down the levels of warfare which the people will face in their lives so that they are not always looking at a physical enemy but understand that warfare can come in many forms within a economical system. Paul expressed that all warfare is spiritual and to be strategic in strategy against this spiritual war and that the war is now, it is ongoing, and where the war began. Connection Throughout the historical contents of the bible we find many examples where God would instruct the leaders of that era how to prepare for war, Exodus 14 the Lord in structed Moses on what needed to be done in order to be victorious over Pharaoh’s armies. We also find an account where the Israelites strength and faith had depleted in verse 11 the people cried, “11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt” Moses’s response to the people in verses he declared before the people, “Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and
