In 1763, the French and Indian War ended, leaving Great Britain with large debts. In order to help with the debt, Great Britain passed laws to tax the colonists. The colonists were furious. Were the American colonists justified in waging war and breaking away from Britain? Yes, the American colonists were justified in waging war to break away from Britain because the British Parliament was over taxing the colonists, the colonists were forced to stay on the East side of the Appalachian Mountains, and they had to pay to house and care for British soldiers.

Without Jefferson the American Revolution most likely would have played out completely different and we could possibly be living a different life today.

The American Revolution, perhaps the most momentous war-related milestone in American history, would not have been possible without the strenuous efforts of the courageous men we call Patriots or otherwise known as the Founding Fathers of America, who gave their all in the fight for freedom against the British. Many names of great men come to mind when we think “founding fathers,” such as Benjamin Franklin, George Washington, or Samuel Adams. Yet there is still one great patriot and founding father who seems to stand out above the rest, and that man is Thomas Jefferson. He firmly believed that in order for America’s republic to succeed, democracy must expand its region and obtain new land. The United States began to idolize the Mississippi River as Americans spread west towards the Appalachians. Jefferson had many decisions to make regarding the Louisiana Purchase, and was careful to please citizens. The Louisiana Purchase is crucial to our nation’s history, and it impacts Americans today.

The impact of the war was not the cause of change for some of the categories, but was further down the line during other times. the revolution was not revolutionary because it inflicted moderate change in the political and social categories and inflicted no change in the aspects of Slavery

From one perspective war has always been the same, technology may improve or philosophies may change, but wars are started by those in power and fought by the poor. The results now may be somewhat different from 1775, post-Revolutionary war time with rebellions like Shay’s Rebellion, but the various reasons for the poor to join the military have stayed relatively the same.

The Louisiana Purchase and the Lewis and Clark expeditions were big turning points in American history because of the ability to settle into new lands and to start new businesses and farms in new places. When Thomas Jefferson bought the entire Louisiana territory from Napoleon it was a huge advantage to our economy. It enabled us to start new businesses and farms, thus making us a much richer and more powerful country. Since it enabled America to start new farms it fed into Jeffersons philosophy of wanting a more agricultural economy. This purchase helped our trading significantly, we could trade much easier with different countries because we had access to the Mississippi River. When Jefferson purchased the Louisiana territory from Napoleon he did not really even know what he was buying, except for the size of the territory. So, he sent a group of explorers to document and map out the entire Louisiana territory, this expedition was led by two men named Lewis and Clark. They founded many new animals and set an example for the Americans that would later on settle these areas for how to live in each certain area of the Louisiana purchase. . The Louisiana Purchase followed by Lewis and Clarks expedition were both big investments that payed off huge for America.

The War of Independence is an impact because it made an effect on America by increasing women's rights, decreasing Northern slavery, and transforming the Native American's relation with the colonists.

Probably the biggest thing we hear about what he did was the Louisiana Purchase, and most like heard of assisting in implementing the 12th Amendment, as well as cutting the U.S. military debt in a third. However, through everything that occured in his time as president, Jefferson is still seen as a great president today and has been given his own era termed the Jeffersonian Era. Overall, the Jeffersonian Era can be broken down into three main events: expansion, conflict with foreign bodies, and the beginning of James Madison’s presidency.
