Ap English 11 Class Analysis

In the past two months i fell like i have accomplished a great deal. As i focus on it more i realize i have become a better reader. I did this by concentrating on my readings and take my time to read them. With the help of my professor and classmates i began to analyze what i read.

The fresh faces of the 2016-2017 sophomore AP English class looked up at Mrs. Belles, some expectantly, some apprehensively. Among those faces is Francine Lamasko, a girl of 15 years of age, newly refreshed from summer and carrying her completed summer work. Decidedly, she thinks to herself, this will be a meaningful year of learning, of growth, and of fun. She is ready.

In English 1102 students will learn many different techniques throughout the course to understand and compose an analysis on an array of topics. After the course is over it is up to the students to apply what they have learned to everyday life. Many students throughout this course have questioned why they have to learn this material and that it will not even help them in the real world, but they are wrong. Each and everyday people should look at the deeper meaning and analyze situations very carefully or else one may find themselves being deceived. Being able to analyze is a very important skill no matter what career choice you choose. In this course the material assigned also had many life lessons in them. My entire life, I have looked forward to math class; it has always made sense to me. Plugging numbers into an equation and solving for x always came easy to me. Outside of school, I enjoy reading. Easily, I could pick up a book and read the entire thing as time just flies by me. The books I don’t like to read are the ones that I am forced to read in a constricted amount of time. Before this year, I’ve never taken an honors English class; I was the smartest one in my CP class. I never challenged myself which is the reason I decided to take AP English. I didn’t put this on my schedule have my transcript look good, or to boost my GPA, I want to become a better writer. In 20 years, the skills I learn throughout this year will be more important

Yet, his education about the hazards that occur in life grew tremendously, as Huck now understands how man’s cruelty towards others are most responsible for the much of the ugliness he encountered. His new found learning still seems a bit twisted to him, however, as the society in which he lives teaches that slavery is lawful while the Bible teaches brotherhood and love. The hypocrisy he comprehends ends up confirming what Huck has valued all along: so-called civility is but a gesture, one which he cannot abide. Thus, Huck goes west in attempts to escape the trappings and dangers of civility; yet, as seen in today’s world, the hypocrisy is inescapable. The west has developed, and with the development, the cruelty, hypocrisy and dangers has risen to even greater heights. In the land of the free and equal, people are shunned because of their ethnicities or religious affiliations; people shoot other people with automatic weapons; homelessness thrives alongside wealth and prosperity. And just as Huckleberry Finn struggled to separate his deformed conscience from his sound heart, humans must wrestle to find compassion in their hearts, reform their consciences, and juxtapose their hearts and consciences to guide them to righteous

I am here to go through some expectations regarding this AP course with you all as Mr. Spencer is away at a conference. The things I will go over are so that you understand what this class is about, specifically as it relates to the advanced placement aspect of it. As this is an AP English class it’s essential for you to have a basic understanding of how you are to structure content in an essay. This means I will explain what makes a strong thesis and how to back it up with a strong argument and rhetoric. All of this being said, I will also give you information on what exactly is generally expected of you in this classroom as a whole.

During the course of Mrs Wagner's Accelerated English 10 class I learned a tremendous amount. I learned all about things such as TIQA, ANT, verb tense. I also learned a gamut of vocabulary words. So over the course of the first semester I blossomed as a writer and Mrs Wagner showed me the hidden talents within my brain.

Before taking English 1301 class, I was a light writer. I mostly enjoyed writing poetry, short stories, and a did a little bit of journaling here and there. Many of my writings were about my own personal feelings and were used as stress relievers, or for other therapeutic reasons. I am a very emotional writer, by this I mean I like to show a lot of emotion behind my writings. While taking English 1301, I had to write academic essays. This caused quite a bit of struggle for me, as I was unable to show emotion and I had to grow accustomed to writing with a larger vocabulary and writing papers that were longer than half a page or so. I struggled with finding the words to say, and suffered from writer’s block. I got over this slump within the first three to four weeks of class, and felt more capable of writing academic essays.

This has left an impact on her from when she had already finished her years at Pacific Lutheran University and then City University to receive her master's degree. At this time she had to move out of her home state and had moved to Washington and renewed her English degree to meet the state of Washington’s teaching requirements, “At the time I was married and I had a little child too, So I mean, I had to overcome you know things. I was working full time and I was going to school full time and I had a family.” This one moment had an impact to Mrs. Schwery because it signified that she had hit a milestone in her life and that the stress of school was over. Graduation had given her the pride of achievement and the satisfaction of the completion of her master’s

From the title of this class, you wouldn’t think you’d learn how to analyze in-more depth current events happening around you. I honestly thought this would be another typical history class, that I dreaded the act of even participating. But once I sucked up my emotions and participated in reading the chapters and answering the DBQ’s, I enjoyed it and gained a new understanding. I learned how to analyze topics deeper and from a sense, see all of the involved parties point of view. There’s a myriad of current events to talk about, but I feel like one ongoing event I understand more because of this class, is the current target of the United States, the terrorist organization known as ISIS.

8:45 a.m. on a Tuesday; it is time to go to my English class. Excited and curious on what my classmates and I will read. Spending hours reading passages, short stories, fiction and learning how to analyze them developed my passion for reading. I’ve lived many lives and I’ve traveled to many parts of the world because I spend my free time reading novels. The way I see it, there’s a world in every book. Books aren’t just made up of sentences and paragraphs. Books are filled with lessons and meaning.

Hey Kennedy! You really missed out on not coming to the Summer Bridge Program. It’s been really helpful and has definitely prepared me for my engineering career. I think that the math class is my favorite, but the writing class is definitely the most helpful. It’s helped me remember some things that I’ve forgotten about writing, however, it’s also introduced me to the writing I’ll have to do in the engineering field. The assignments have been easy, but we got to interview a professor in our major which was pretty cool.

During my day, I go to the classes that I always go. As usual, I stay silent and I do my work. Unlike the other classmates who usually talk constantly, I stay quiet. Some of my classmates find it weird that I don't talk much. In one of my honors classes, I feel like a misfit because I feel like I don't fit in with the others. They find me mysterious, almost like a freak. When I disagree with their ideas, I don't say anything because they'll think I'm the bad guy.

The first couple days of class were not as bad as I thought they would be. I was pretty lonely at first because I had no friends, but a couple of days later I started becoming more social and made a couple friends. My classes are exactly what I expected, I knew they would be harder than high school but still do-able. One thing that was new to me was that my teachers didn’t know me because they are all big lecture classes. The reason why I like my writing class because it’s a small class and my professor is nice, outgoing and makes the class fun. The work isn’t too overwhelming yet, but blackboard is very confusing sometimes and I missed some assignments.

This semester has been quite different, mainly because I took a few different English classes that I normal wouldn’t have taken. I took a ‘reading’ class; I miss reading classes in school. Don’t get me wrong, writing classes are important too, and I’m not just saying that because I’m writing this essay for a writing class. They’re important due to the fact that they teach valuable lessons like correct punctuation, grammar, spelling, dictation and most importantly, how to bull crap your way through any paper.
