There are many similarities and differences between the book and the movie. I personally enjoyed the book more because I felt that it was a more detailed story. In the movie many things were left out simply because you cant fit everything that was in the book into a 125 minute movie. In the movie, Augustus’ parents don’t say anything when they go down to the basement. In the book, the parents don’t let them go to the basement. Instead they watch V for Vendetta in his living room. Also there is a scene in the book where they sit in they all sit in the kitchen and have a conversation that was left out of the movie. In the book there is a scene where Hazel visits Isaac after his surgery. In the movie she does not visit Isaac. The …show more content…
In the movie, she gets out of the car. Also in the book, Isaacs ex has a Firebird. In the movie, she has a Mitsubishi Eclipse. In the book, Hazels has a friend from when she used to go to school with named Kaitlyn. She meets her at the mall and they go shopping. In the movie, she doesn’t even exist. Also, Augustus’ sisters and their kids appeared in the book at Augustus’ house. They didn’t appear in the film either. In the movie, they failed to make mention of Augustus’ former girlfriend. In the book, Caroline Mathers had a large effect on Hazel. She is the one that made Hazel feel like she was a grenade. They also fail to show in the movie Hazel sifting through Caroline’s Facebook page. In the book, they put the swing set in Hazel’s backyard up for sale. In the movie, they just sit on the swing and talk. I felt that in the book the swing set had a more symbolic reference while in the movie it was just to movie the story along. In the book, when they went to Amsterdam and were eating at Oranjee, they ate outside while the white flower pedals floated down from the trees. In the movie, they ate inside. Also, in the movie Augustus told Hazel that he loved her at dinner while in the book he tells her while they are on the
For instance, in the book Joppy knew Albright; Albright knew Todd Carter; Todd Carter knew Richard McGee as well as Matthew Terrell whereas in the movie every character denied knowing each other except Albright and Joppy. Another noticeable difference is that in the book Frank Green, Daphne’s brother ends up murdered and in the movie he lives and they both end up moving. The third noticeable difference is a character name change from the book to the movie; Matthew Teran in the book is Matthew Terrell in the movie and he ends up being murdered in the book whereas at the end of the movie he’s running for mayor. A fourth noticeable difference is the pier scene. In the book Albright and Easy meet at the Santa Monica pier and in the movie it is the Malibu pier. And the last most noticeable difference between the book and the movie is that Mouse knows Daphne Monet or shall we call her by her real name Ruby Hanks; however, in the movie the audience never finds that out. In the movie the only true thing you get to know about Daphne is that she is both black and white. Therefore, due to the many differences between the book and the movie it is confusing to the audience since it is almost like dealing with two different stories because of the plot inconsistencies.
Another small difference is that the movie starts with the girls meeting in forest, although in the book this is a flashback later in the book.
Normally, when a movie is made about a story in a book the two stories are not exactly the same. The movie is adjusted by adding small details or leaving out some parts in order to make the story more
The first major difference between the movie and the book is how quickly the movie reveals some of the flaws of the main character Socrates Fortlow. In fact the movie starts with Socrates appearing
The book and movie are completely different. It 's like comparing apples and oranges. (I 'm assuming that you used the newest version with Guy Pierce). The biggest difference is probably the ommision of Haydee and Maximillien and Valentine (three of the main character) and the addition of Jacapo. Jacapo does is in the book, but he is never a large character.
The 3 major differences that were seen are the shattering of the conch, the pilot’s presence, and Ralph’s attitude towards Piggy. Due to these major differences the novel left a greater impact on its readers than the movie on its viewers. Seeing the movie and as well reading the book, personally the book was a better. The book has a very different approach of that showed these 3 major differences to their full extent. Out of the two though, I would choose the book as more pleasant and
The book and the film were both simular, and yet different in many ways. An example would be, in the film, Ponyboy was walking to the drive-in and meeting Cherri and Marcia. Although in the book, Ponyboy began his journey by telling the readers about his experience about being jumped by the Socs and being threatened. The director probably had some options to pick from to leave out from the movie, and the director chosed this to leave out. Leaving out the part where Ponyboy was jumped was an effective move because without the experience Ponyboy was lost and helpless because he did not know what to do when he and Johnny got cornered in the park by Bob and other Socs.
There are many of the same people like Turtle, Angela, Grace, Hoo, Otis Amber, and Berthe Erica Crow. Also the money is both in the 2’s of millions like 20 and 200. Mr. Hoo still owns a Chinese restaurant that does very poorly. Also Berthe Erica Crow is still partnered with Otis Amber, and they still own the Good Salvation Soup Kitchen. As always Turtle still wins the Westing Game. That’s just a small list of what the similarities are between the book and movie.
Both share the same plot, and there are very little differences between the two. These are a few of the differences that I was able to notice between the book and the movie. There are several others throughout the story, but they are all just as minute and in the end they have no effect on the outcome of the story. Overall, I was very impressed with the movie and it was very true to the book. I have seen my share of movies that were adaptations from books that did not do the book justice, but this one is almost exactly like the book, so it was very
One difference was that Gitl and Rivka were two different characters in the book, but in the movie, they were just one character. In the book, Gitl was Hannah’s aunt who took care of her after Hannah’s parents died. Another difference was that in the movie, Shmuel and Fayge actually get married, since the rabbi was telling them to rush, but in the book, the two never actually have time to get married before the Nazis take them away in their cars. A third difference was that in the movie, Ariel is the son of the rabbi, the love interest with Hannah, but in the book, Fayge is the daughter of the rabbi, the love interest of Shmuel. A fourth difference was that in the movie, Hannah was an older teen, and more rebellious.
In the movie the differences are very noticeable first off Hannah is just referred to as Hannah not Chaya also in the movie there is a woman who gives birth in the camp and the baby is not allowed to live. In the movie Hannah tries to get the townsfolk to have Seder in the camp which is a success in bringing the town people together ,but it doesn’t happen in the book. In the movie Hannah has a love interest but not in the book it doesn’t matter anyways because he just dies after he pronounces his love.
The book tells the same story as the movie but in a different way it cuts out thing the movies has or the movies adds thing that's not in the book. The book has some not many similar but . I feel the director was unfaithful to the book. The book and movie version of Our America had many differences.
The similarities the book and the movie have is that they show when Pony and Johnny get jumped and when Johnny and Dally die which are one of the saddest parts. But in the book it talks about how they feel and you can actually feel the same way and just feel the pain they have and the movie doesn't have that. All the main characters are Pony Boy, Darry, Dally,
I think in the book you can really feel the emotions of the characters more. I felt like I was there in the book. I also did in the movie, but not as much. The book goes into more details of the characters, so I felt like I really knew them. When Johnny and Dally die in the book, I felt like I was somewhat losing a friend, also. When I watched the movie I didn’t feel as much that way. In the book I think I really understood what was happening. I knew what was happening in the movie, but most of the time only because I had read the book first. For example, I wouldn’t
Here are some differences with the characters. Meg one of the main character's in the book has glasses and braces, but in the movie she doesn't have braces or glasses. Another main character is Charles-Walace and in the book he is five, doesn't go to school, and can't read, but in the movie he is six go's to school, and can read well. These are the differences
