I should avoid to put two ideas in one question, each idea should have its own question. I have to select my population in a manner that I ask the relevant people in order to avoid population definition error and sampling frame error. I should not target SIU students when I wanted to select business owners in the City of Carbondale. This will help me not survey the wrong people. Furthermore, I should avoid leading questions and asking wrong questions. I have to ask relevant questions that will provide me with relevant answers to my questionnaire. I have to avoid using broad terms when developing questions because respondents might misinterpret the questions. I should avoid limiting answer options. Providing more answer options gives respondents a pool from which they can select their preferred answers unlike when I channel them to only two options. The problem I had was that some questions needed follow-up questions while others needed preceding questions.
The questions were developed based on both the independent and dependent variables. I knew that the City of Carbondale would like to examine

The questions hit the target of my topic that is, they are both valid and reliable. They are relevant to the topic and are asked to the relevant people. The questions focus on business owners’ satisfaction, permitting and application process, and the demographics of the business owners. If the permitting and application process is effective and efficient, that will increase the business owners’ level of satisfaction hence improve relations between the City of Carbondale and business owners. Their level of satisfaction is dependent upon the permitting and application process. If the process is poor, their level of satisfaction will be lower and vice
In this case, the independent variable is the gender and the dependent variable is the
For this section, examine the data sets you’ve collected for the city and county across the different years. Be sure to pay attention to the information provided in the footnotes—this will help you understand the data you are looking at.
4. What are the limitations of the survey method, and how would you overcome the limitations of this research method, or any research approach?
A questionnaire is research which involves a number of different questions to gather information from the people who are filling it in. Questionnaires are designed as a way to find out what people are thinking. An advantage of questionnaires is that it is very practical because it is quick to collect information from the people filling out the questionnaire. Another advantage of questionnaires is that the same questions is asked to everyone filling the questionnaire out so easy to sum up. The final advantage to questionnaires is that large information can be collected. There are also some disadvantages to questionnaires which is that there is no way of telling how much though someone who is filling the questionnaire out has put it. Another disadvantage is that the person filling it out may forget what has happened to fill it out so it won’t be reliable. The final disadvantage to questionnaires is that there is no way to tell how truthful a respondent is being.
In the beginning of the survey I asked personal questions. I then followed that up by asking their thoughts on rights to own a gun and if a permit should be required. I ended the survey by asking about age, sex, race and income. I tried to come up with straight forward easy questions to ask. I wanted the questions to be familiar and easy to answer; questions that wouldn’t be confusing. I wanted to receive unbiased answers.
5. Describe conceptualization and operationalization of the independent and dependent variables from your hypothesis, including examples of specific items that you would use to measure your

After coming up with the open end and multiple choice questions, I will then decide the population that I am going to conduct my research on. After choosing my population I will pick a large sample group that I will choose to represent my population. After choosing my sample group I will conduct my survey in the Kutztown University DMZ because it is a
“Problems researched with the use of appropriate methods greatly enhance the value of the research.” (Sekaran, 2003) Data can be collected through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and through other techniques, like projective tests. In even more detail, interviews can be conducted in a variety of different ways such as over the phone, through the computer, interviews through the electronic media, and face-to-face. Questionnaires can be conducted personally or administered electronically. “Interviewing, administering questionnaires, and observing people and phenomena are the three main data collection methods in survey research.” (Sekaran, 2003) As stated before, data can be collected in many different ways; however the value of the research is only greatly enhanced when personal opinions and bias is left out of the collection of data.
Next, you would decide on how to word the questions, then you establish how you want the flow of the survey and ensure the questionnaire meets with the original objectives.
We conducted a survey with 20 random respondents around the campus and dormitories. They are asked to answer several questions to fulfill our data in store. The very first
Following a questionnaire design plan when creating a survey will help ensure that the questionnaire is carefully created to maximize the validity and reliability of the information collected. According to Jacobsen (2011), it is important to begin the questionnaire design by identifying the general and specific subject matter to be covered by the questionnaire. Then progress to choosing the types of questions and answers for each topic to be assessed (p. 126). For my research questionnaire, the main question categories would consist of sociodemographics, family health history, personal health history, dietary habits, and physical activity. Some examples of specific topics that would be addressed in each section are:
For me, I do not have enough knowledge about this project and there are so many topics that I do not have an enough in depth knowledge. And I am serious about the part of doing a questionnaire survey.
The strength of questionnaires is it can give an insight into respondent’s thoughts and opinions and also cost efficient as it is inexpensive.
In survey method research, participants answer questions administered through interviews or questionnaires. After participants answer the questions, researchers describe the responses given. In order for the survey to be both reliable and valid it is important that the questions are constructed properly. Questions should be written so they are clear and easy to comprehend.
