Introduction:
Using the direct weighing and weighing by difference methods to find weight and mass of chemicals and compounds.
Purpose:
The purpose of this lab was to become familiar with the three different balances and two different methods used to find the weight and mass of chemicals and compounds in the ChemLab program. The lab was performed by using three different types of balances, and the direct weighing and weighing by difference methods.
Materials Used:
2 Centigram Balances
1 High Sensitivity Balance
1 Electronic Balance
2 100ml Beakers
Watch Glass
Slugs
5 Copper Slugs
Sodium Chloride (NaCl)
Experimental Methods:
The slugs were measured by both the direct method and

At first I was unsure on how these were different but after using the lab program and following the instructions I can now see that different balances are needed for difference situations. Some that may require a more precise measurement where as others may not need such accurate measurements.
The Centigram Balance:
Direct Weighing Mass of slug on a centigram balance using the direct-weighing technique: _2.3g_____ * Mass of the same slug directly on another centigram balance: __2.6g____
Weighing by Difference Weigh the same slug by difference: * Mass of the beaker: __49.2g____ * Mass of the beaker and slug: _52.2g_____ * Calculated mass of the slug by difference: ___3.0g___ * Use the other centigram balance to determine the slug mass by difference: * Mass of the beaker: __49.6g____ * Mass of the beaker and slug: __52.2g____ * Calculated mass of the slug by difference: ___3.4g___ * Weigh an unknown mass on a centigram balance using the
In this Chemistry Lab the main objective is to perform accurate chemical analysis for the quantity of elements and compounds in a sample. There will be a compound made then synthesized. The methods used were acid-base titrations, redox titrations, gravity filtration, and distillation. General conclusions included
The protein molecules in many foods provide the amino acid building blocks required by our own cells to produce new proteins. To determine whether a sample contains protein, a reagent called Biuret solution is used. Biuret solution contains copper ions. However, the chemical state of the copper ions in Biuret solution causes them to form a chemical complex with the peptide bonds between amino acids (when present), changing the color of the solution. Biuret solution is normally blue, but changes to pink when short peptides are present and to violet when long polypeptides are present.
Purpose: To become familiar with the International System of Units and common laboratory equipment and techniques. To learn how to determine volume, mass, length, and temperature of a wide variety of items. To learn how to calculate density and concentration of dilutions.
You can store them on the domain itself and I would say that this is the same as a PKI server because a PKI server has more of a hierarchal ladder of trust to verify users.
Purpose: Weighing objects. Figuring out the density with an object by calculated volume and Archimedes’ Principle.
3. Experiment: Use the Gizmo to find the carrying capacity with Ample, Moderate, and Little land. List the carrying capacities below.
What observations can you make regarding the gene pool and gene frequency of the surviving individuals?

groups. It was conducted to further the research in choice overload and paralysis of the mind.
It used mass, temperature, length, volume, density, and making a dilute solution. I learned the importance as well as the difficulty of making proper measurements in a lab setting. If one measurement is off, it will throw the entire equation off. This will give either incorrect or inaccurate results.

Benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride (0.201g) and 9-anthraldehyde (0.116g) were weighed and added to a short-neck round-bottomed flask (5ml). Dichloromethane (2ml) was measured using a measuring cylinder and added to the
One milliliter of 6.00-M phosphoric acid was placed into a 125-mL Erlenmeyer flask using a volumetric pipette. Using a slightly larger pipette, six milliliters of 3.00-M sodium hydroxide was transferred into a 50-mL beaker. Then a disposable pipette was used to slowly mix the sodium hydroxide into the phosphoric acid while the solution was swirled around. Then both the beaker and flask were rinsed with 2-mL of deionized water and set aside. A clean and dry evaporating dish was weighed with watch glass on a scale. Then the solution was poured into the dish and the watch glass was placed on top. The solution was then heated with a Bunsen burner to allow for the water to boil off to reveal a dry white solid. After the dish cooled to room temperature it was once again weighed and the new mass was recorded.
Was the pH level always within the “normal” range for the human body? Yes it was.
