Business Proposal
The technology market is a lucrative, ever-changing, and consistently growing business market. Will Bury (University of Phoenix, 2014) has developed a digital reading application that is simple to use, and necessary in today’s world of academics, business, and pleasure use. It is the intention of this business proposal to acquire the financing needed to begin launch of this new application and the following in-depth information will show that the numbers support Mr. Bury’s proposal.
Market Analysis In the growing technological age and with the introduction of digital reading devices like the iPad® from Apple Inc. or the Kindle®

In order for Mr. Bury to improve the technology of his product, he will need to hire additional labor to run the conversion process and assist in researching and securing copyrighted material appropriate for conversion. While this will increase his variable costs, it will allow Mr. Bury to increase production, thereby increasing revenue. In addition, he will likely need to secure a more suitable location to operate his business. A larger space will be better able to accommodate additional workers and equipment. These additions will increase his total costs and will factor into the price he sets for his product. In order for Mr. Bury to determine an appropriate price, he will need to add all of his variable costs then divide by the number of units sold. This will give him the cost per unit. This cost should remain constant, regardless of how few or how many units he sells (Business Owner's Toolkit, 2010).
Company Growth
Mr. Bury will need to budget for advertising costs to promote his product to consumers. This will be even more critical as the expiration for his patent nears. Differentiating his product from his competitors as more companies enter the market will be necessary to maintain his market and profit share. However, Mr. Bury will have to offer a large library catalog to compete, and will have to place an effort in marketing to gain recognition and maintain market share.
Reading today is a lot different then it was in the year 868 AD; when the first book was published in China. You know a written or printed work consisting of pages glued or sewn together along one side and bound in covers. Society today is so advanced that everything we do is constantly changing whether we realize it or not. For example, the book, before people would go to a bookstore or library to get the books they were interested in. Today society is making fewer trips to the bookstore and library, and making purchases of novels on their e-readers in the comfort of their own home. With these e-readers you can simply purchase any book you would like, some books being under a buck or even free, saving you a trip to the bookstore. E-readers
In the New Atlantis, Christine Rosen wrote an article, “People of the Screen.” The article talks about old books that are no longer being printed, that if the books are no longer printed, if we choose to replace the book-what will become of reading and the print culture it fostered? Rosen states, “We have already taken the first steps on our journey to a new form of literacy— “digital literacy.”
A current issue with home health care and senior citizens is the need for medicine and food. In the current state of the economy with the rise and gas prices and the need of people to still commute, people have to figure out ways to get to and from pharmacies and grocery stores. In the economy two markets that will not fail in recession are discount retail food and medicine because people need both to survive (Viswanathan, 2009). According to AAA (2012), the national average for gas is currently $3.39 per gallon. The cost of gas coupled with the cost of prescriptions and groceries create a huge issue in elderly, disabled, and unfortunate
Technology has become an increasingly advanced as well as an important aspect in modern society. That is why Ray Bradbury, the author of Fahrenheit 451, was right to fear books and other printed sources would be replaced by modern technology. Technology has contributed to the significant loss of time children spend reading. Additionally, eBooks have replaced print books. Moreover, television and radio have replaced newspapers as the dominant source of information.
Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank founded Home Depot Corp in 1978 (The Home Depot, 2013). The business created strategic product analysis providing an assortment of items to consumers. From the beginning, workers have been able to deliver superior customer satisfaction in the business, helping consumers with jobs such as handling power tools, changing out parts on appliances, laying tile, etc. The Home Depot employees all underwent arduous training to familiarize each employee with products. In addition, the business began hosting workshops to teach consumers on how to do things themselves.
Technology is used around the world and is a valuable resource used in our society but our society has surrendered valuable reading to technology.
However, when given an article to read off of a computer screen, 21% of people read the text roow by row and word by word, and 79% of scanned the page. Of those 79%, only 3% could name specific facts written in the online article. However, of the 21% that thoroughly read the article, 19% could name those specific facts - and all test subjects were given the same series of questions following their reading. This suggests that the style of reading is different when the medium of the reading is
The article I chose to read is More Substance, Less Hype: Using Digital Texts to Support Readers by Sarah Lundy. Lundy is a social studies teacher in the Pacific North West who incorporated digital texts in the classroom. Her goal was not to add technology to the classroom just to be more relevant or hip, but she added digital texts to differentiate, scaffold, and accommodate her students. She said, “A thoughtfully designed digital text provides a powerful resource for meeting diverse learning needs while developing critical literacy skills (Lundy, 2015, p. 101).” Lundy added digital texts to her classroom with the help of iPad’s and iBooks Textbooks.
In order to determine how many titles the organization should transform (products to offer), it could compare total revenue and total cost; or, compare the marginal revenue and marginal cost. (McConnell, Brue, & & Flynn, 2009, p. 180) Focusing on the first method of total revenue and total cost. Using the numbers mentioned above, the organization’s total revenue for the older titles if they were to lower the prices to $8, TR= $8,000. Couple this with the idea that the transformation of the older titles should be minimal to nothing because of the fact that it will be done internally. It would be important to estimate the cost of creating the files at $3 a book since the organization is currently using very low cost venue and the organization is consuming the utilities that match that. For the same 1,000 books we used to figure total revenue, TC=$3,000. The organization will be establishing a total profit of $5,000.
Electronic reading devices have become popular in recent years. Some schools have even gotten rid of paper books entirely. Their students read everything electronically instead. While eBooks have their place, their use in schools should be limited.

As a long-time Nutritional Coordinator of the Morgiana high school, I would like to propose to the Director of food services of our school that a formal analytical report be prepared in order to serve healthier school lunches in our school cafeteria. Over the past several years, I have observed that our school lunch program serves lunches that, for the most part, consist of fatty and sugary foods that supply little more than empty calories to our students. We need to change our school menu so that our students can learn and perform better, both academically and athletically.
I do not know why, but I found myself not interested in books. In general, I think in out culture, reading is not popular as other cultures, and those who love reading is just an exception where the majority do not read. In addition, however, there is a generational shift towards reading habit, I think me and my generation do not read books as those in the previous two or three decades, and that’s due to many factors. Technology is one of the most important factors, one the other hand, Kindle is exploiting technology to make people love reading and it succeeded in doing so with me and others. Unsurprisingly, a study shows that those of age between 19 to 29 are the most prolific E-book readers (1). However, this artifact (E-book) is posing any considerable threat to the hardcopy book industry in the near future. There’s a report shows that a few readers have abandoned the hardcopy books for E-books
There are (3) reasons why I have chosen energy drinks as my NAB. First off, there is a growing market for energy drinks. Red Bull and Monster Beverage Corporation, together, form over 80% of domestic energy drinks volumes by estimates. Dollar sales for energy drinks grew almost 6% to $6.67 Billion in measured channels in 2013, which propelled sales growth for convenience stores (Team, 2014). A growing thirst for caffeinated “energy” drinks, which include the likes of Red Bull, Monster, and Rock star, has spurred a heart-thumping surge in sales. Globally, the energy drink industry has gone from a $3.8-billion business in 1999, to a $27.5-billion
The development of start-ups is an important business activity that requires effort, time, and financial resources. It is important to correctly establish the resources that are required by opening a business in order to be able to successfully reach the objectives established for businesses in each situation. In this case, the business plan refers to developing a restaurant that focuses on providing meals that are based on organic foods.
