As technology increases through massive changes it becomes apparent that the individual user must also make changes that are environmentally safe. Green IT, also known as Green Computing, is the movement towards a more environmentally friendly and cost-effective use of power and production in technology. The crux of Green IT is to double or triple the bottom line investment costs by converting existing structures and systems to this more conservative mode of operation in green computing (eweek.com, 2012). The greening of information technology (IT) offers numerous ways for companies to

The Weighted Decision Matrix is used as a baseline to evaluate personnel that are applying to be the project manager for the Green Computing Research Project. As shown below there is different evaluation criteria that is weighed for each individual project.
Once a project management team has been selected all of the details pertaining to the project must be outlined in the Project Charter. The purpose of a Project Charter is to provide an understanding of the project, the reason it is being conducted and its justification, establish early on in the project the general scope, and finally to establish the project manager and his or her authority level (pmi.org, 2012). Below you can see the Project Charter that has been established for the Green Computing Research Project.
Project Charter Project Title: Green Computing Research Project | Project Start Date: 6 August 2012 | Project Finish Date: 8 February 2013 | Budget Information: The organization has allocated $500,000 for this project. The majority of costs for this project will be both internal resources and external resources (if required) assuming that they have attained the skills sets for selected individuals necessary to provide their expertise in Green Computing Solutions. | Project Manager: Raymond Long, (703) 343-9543, raymond.long@green.com | Project Objectives: Help improve the environment while increasing revenues and reducing costs. Researching the following
It involves a series of decisions based on a wide range of factors, and each of these decisions can have considerable impact on the quality, performance, maintainability, and overall success of the application.
This is to ensure that the necessary raw materials and physical resources are available at each stage, and that the workforce on site has the right skills for the scheduled work. The project management team will need to produce a series of planning documents that can be accessed throughout the project. Each member of the project management team must know their role and responsibilities, including which sections of the workforce they will be directly managing.
In this work related project analysis various information will be for gathering information. Some of the areas that will be covered are; methods of searching, interviewing techniques to gather the information, agreement for articulating requirements, and strategies to gather information for computerization. Requirements must
Embrace new technologies to improve efficiency, maintain environmental stewardship through green practices and sustainable operations, support continuous improvement of the business processes, develop employees’ capability, and provide excellent customer services.” (Hillsborough County, 2015)
The paper is divided into three sections, the first of which will establish a timeline of events. This project background will serve as a case study for the analysis in the following section that will be structured such that each of the previously mentioned facets will be independently analyzed and contrasted with project management principles. Finally the paper will conclude with a summary of the analysis and recommendations based on
3. What are the objectives (in measurable terms) of the project? Is the goal achievable in
Dalton Public Schools is currently encouraging that all of its schools go paperless and begin to put all of its assignments and grades on a website called Canvas. This would be a remarkable idea to encourage its staff to be environmentally friendly. Normally, I would include students in my previous statement but while the laptops are a step in the good direction, they have their faults in terms of being environmentally friendly. These
A fundamental transformation is being observed in the field of healthcare industry as it moved from volume based business to value based business. With increasing demands from consumers for better healthcare quality, plans and increased care, healthcare providers are expected to provide better outcomes. The cost dynamics of health care industry is changing globally, which is driven mainly by longer life expectancy, pervasiveness of chronic illness and infectious disease. New market entrants, new medical approaches have made the things more complicated. All these challenges in the industry open the way for analytics work to expand more. Here in this document, we would like to mainly focus on the following aspects to understand the use of analytics in day to day industry operations.
Enough information should be provided to give sufficient context. However in the Executive Summary this section can receive less emphasis than it might in the overall report so that more attention can be given to the evaluation purpose, design, limitations, and findings. In the main report it should describe the problem being addressed by the project, and the project logic for why it will lead to better outcomes. This could include a logical framework for the project if one exists, and the development hypothesis, or causal logic, of the project or program of which the project is a part.
When reading about the project charter you can come away with the impression that it is a long and daunting process to produce one, however, I learned a project charter should not be very long in length, preferably five pages or less. The reasoning behind this being, if it is too long it will never be utilized. I also learned it should not go into great detail due to the fact it is being written up when all the particulars are still unknown. A project charter is the foundation of a project and will be used throughout the life of a project. It will bring new people who join the project team up to speed as to what need the project is meeting and the plans on how to meet them. An important part of the charter is describing the scope, not only
Before we jump in, can you give us a little bit more context of what the end goal of the project is and what the big pitcher here is?
Microsoft, a $69.3 billion dollar technology company, prides itself on its carbon neutrality and its ownership of its environmental impact. The company’s carbon neutral initiative is simplified to: “Be Green + Be Lean + Be Accountable = Carbon Neutral.” Being green is reducing air travel, reducing overall energy consumption. Being lean is investing capital in new renewable energy projects, reducing waste and water. Being accountable is setting a price signal on carbon to internalize external impacts, emission tracking software, employee environmental sustainability programs. Microsoft implements an internal carbon fee, placing a price on carbon and reducing each division 's reliance on the unsustainable resource.
Brief summary description of the project proposal: Describe problem addressed, proposed solution, expected results, intended beneficiaries and reason(s) why assistance is requested from the Voluntary Fund.
