Credit Policy In accordance to PUC/RJ Guidelines, approved by the Federal Department of Education, the term “CREDIT” is the basic evaluation for the student’s projects and corresponds to 15 hours of lecture per period or other projects. To accrued credit the projects must be a lab class, complimentary activities, seminars or supervised internship, etc. The credit is determined by the authorized Department. The total credits policy is described in the University’s Guidelines c. 33 published each year. Grading Policy The student’s final evaluation for each discipline or complimentary activity is based on a numeric scale from 0-100. The minimum grade for approval is 50 (fifty). The test is administered in the spring and the results provide students, teachers, and parents with an objective view of the student’s strengths and weaknesses. The listening and speaking scores are combined to obtain an overall scale score, as are the reading and writing scores. The overall performance is determined by the scores in each combined area. A conversion chart is provided in each grade band, to convert the raw score to a scale score. Then depending on where the scale scores land will give you the placement level that the student is at. Students who fail to perform satisfactorily for the assessment in the prescribed date may be assessed as ‘not satisfactory’. You are required to be assessed as ‘Satisfactory’ on completion of Assessments assigned by your assessor for this unit of competency.
In the subject district credit recovery is intended to restore one or two classes at a maximum. This school district has a little under 3,000 9th -12th graders and uses Apex Credit Recovery software for their program. Students taking a course during the traditional school year must attend school 80 minutes longer than the other students but, the district covers the cost. If a student takes the online course in the summer the student must pay for the course themselves.
Participants are judged on a range of areas depending on what category their presentation is in. The categories range from a number of FCS related areas and values. Members are graded on one to five points in every area on the judge’s rubric sheet and recieve feedback for state.
The idea of a credit hour, which is also referred to as the Carnegie unit, began in 1906 with Andrew Carnegie. He was in the process of building a free pension system for faculty members. The amount of money he provided for the system was not enough for every single college, so they began to develop regulations. One of the regulations was to have admission standards which trickles back down to the standard of the high schools in which the applicants attended. The high schools that the applicants attended had to be under the Carnegie unit system. This system required students to follow a minimum of 14 units, in which one unit translates to 120 hours within the classroom. A course that lasted the whole school year was counted as one unit and
