Problem solving and critical thinking are two related skills that greatly impact student success in the classroom. However, many studies have shown that these two skills are largely underdeveloped in students. When the Judge admonished the Jury, he told them they must reach a unanimous decision beyond a reasonable doubt. The "hero" of this movie appears to be Henry Fonda, the first juror to vote "not guilty". He kept challenging the evidence by saying "isn 't it possible?"...that the evidence was wrong. One of the specific feature of critical thinking that I would like to talk about is keep an open mind. I seem to have a big problem with this one myself. I never keep an open mind when it comes to thinking because over the years I felt that my way or decision making would be the right one without the input of others. On my draft copy of the final assignment, I was lead by my emotions on the subject topic than using the critically thinking techniques as the underlay for the essay, missing out such tools as assumptions. I went through the critical thinking tools to assess that I had used them to the full advantage of the essay.

Understanding how and why individuals change their mind can give humans a big advantage at perceiving information on a complex level. Big History gives us different answers to various questions and they want us to find the correct answer. We can find the right answer by using the four claim testers: authority, logic, evidence, and intuition. Individuals change their mind from time to time based on the new information that becomes available to them at different times and therefore they start questioning the validity of the existing theories and find new answers to the original questions.

The first concept I learned when enhancing my critical thinking in inductive generalizations is the research design, which is an important concept when using scientific procedure. The order of the research design is first is starts with a question, which are the characteristics of interest concerning a target population (Diestler 2012). A significant issue that plagues the retail sector is how to effectively utilize its labor force. This would be true critical thinking is a process; everything should be analyzed when it comes to making a decision. Now I agree with using critical thinking to solve some problems but not all. However, most situations depending on whether it is at home or work does not always require someone to think critically. Critical thinking is critical to business success and is the most desired skill in employees today (Neck, Houghton, & Murray, 2017, p. 11). Decision making is key to business and having the ability to sift through the deluge of information available and make reasonable, logical and sound decisions that positively impact business is necessary. Critical thinkers are not only the most desired employees, but building a culture of critical thinking is what will provide a competitive advantage to business and sustain that business into the future. Critical analysis refers to an art of analyzing and evaluating thinking with a view of improving it. According to Dash (2016), “critical thinking is an umbrella term that covers six key skills: problem-solving, analysis, creative thinking, interpretation, evaluation and reasoning.” In other words, it is the ability to reason logically beyond the surface of any information. It is a self-learned and self-disciplined thinking which helps in dealing with complexities, solving daily problems, making better informed decisions and facing real world situations. Also, in order to think strategically, it is imperative to possess a solid foundation of critical thinking. Strategic thinkers can process any information deeply and always strives to embrace any possible alternatives and uncertainties. This exhibit that practicing strategic thinking on a regular basis can help the individuals to be in command of the intellectual dimensions of thought. Hence, it can be affirmed that applying intellectual standards to the elements of reasoning in our daily lives can enhance our critical thinking skills and progress us on the path of becoming efficient strategic thinkers.
