Decision making and communication are at the center of business success and efficient business analytics would only be effective through the use of proper information systems and that are up to date with current trends as well as optimizing on the available channels.

As we discuss the possibility of emerging into business intelligence software we must keep in mind the overall purpose of using any type of software is to reach strategic goals in order to increase market shares. I will discuss how business intelligence software will allow us to meet those strategic goals. We will establish what type of information and analysis capabilities will be available once this business intelligence software is implemented. Decision support systems (DDS) is a content free expression that assists decision makers utilized data (component) and models (component) to solve unstructured problems by providing the available data in a timely manner. Most components are standard, however in some cases it is necessary to build some or all of the components.

Implementing Decision support system (DSS) can benefit greatly in a business and strengthen the bond to its customers and its employees. For instance, Kudler would benefit greatly with the usage of a DSS to its advertisement team because allowing what-if analysis could grow the business remarkably.

Traditionally, business intelligence (BI) has been used as an umbrella term to describe the concepts and methods to improve business decision making by using fact-based decision support systems. BI also includes the underlying architectures, tools, databases, applications, and methodologies. BI’s major objectives are to enable interactive and easy access to diverse data, enable manipulation and transformation of these data, and provide business managers and analysts the ability to conduct appropriate analyses and perform the actions [Turban et al. 2008; Wixom et al. 2011]. Successful BI initiatives have been reported for major industries, from healthcare and airlines, to major IT and telecommunication firms [Anderson-Lehman et al. 2004; Carte et al. 2005; Turban et al. 2008].

Decision making process require evaluating performance, testing hypotheses, predicting future events. By using Business Intelligence in organizations some benefits like effectiveness, faster and easy access to information efficiently, greater customer satisfaction and improved competitiveness of organizations. The Business Intelligence value can be determined by the efficiency of BI in personal, effective allocation of resources, quality of BI products, user satisfaction.

R.L Fielding (2008) reiterates that Business Intelligence is a thorough and holistic analysis of the company records, data, information, and software application for effective decision making. All decision making processes need an organized, readily-accessible, and human readable compilations of data. With the use of an effective tool the firm can easily figure out their own business processes, the behavior of their customers, and the economic trend of the industry. With these facts, the firm can arrive at a better strategy to achieve their specified goals with confidence.

Group decision support systems (GDSS) are interactive, computer-based systems that facilitate solution of semi-structured and unstructured problems by a designated set of decision-makers working together as a group. A GDSS can assist groups, especially groups of managers, in analyzing problem situations and in performing group decision making tasks.
