GLOBAL WARMING
Attention Catcher: Where do you see the future of the United States in a hundred years for our grandchildren? Do you see them at war? Do you see them being a wealthy and successful Country? Or do you see the world’s temperature rising causing flooding, wildfires, and distinction of plants and animals.
Speaker Credibility: What does it take for us to see the signs of global warming and act upon what Mother Nature is trying to tell us?
Listeners Relevance: In the past fifty years with the increase of hurricanes, wildfires and wide spread of diseases we can see that Mother Nature is trying to tell us to stop what we are doing with our economic growth.
Thesis Statement: The fact of the matter is that global

I think the earth worth saving don’t you?
Third Main Point: Global warming can be stopped if we take action now.
Sub point: Larry West author of What is the Greenhouse Effect states the following: We need to do our part to reduce waste by using reusable products instead of disposable. Whenever possible we need to recycle paper, plastic, newspaper, glass and aluminum cans. By recycling our household waste, we can save 2400 pounds of carbon dioxide annually.
Sub-sub-point: We need to use less heat and air conditioning, by adding insulation and installing weather stripping or caulking around doors and windows. By setting your thermostat 2 degrees lower in winter and higher in the summer we can save about 2000 pounds of carbon dioxide each year.
Sub-sub-point: We need to replace our light bulbs with energy efficient light bulbs, (CFL, Compact Fluorescent Light) if every U.S. family did this we would eliminate 90 billion pounds of greenhouse gases which would be equivalent to 7.5 million cars off the roads.
Supporting Point: We need to buy energy efficient products like cars and household appliances. If possible use less hot water and set your water heater to 120 degrees, this will save 500 pounds of carbon dioxide annually.
Sub-sub-point: When you do drive, make sure your car is running efficiently. For example, keeping your tires properly inflated can improve
Climate change is very important to many people right now. There are lot’s of discussions between scientists asking, should we be worrying about climate change? Obviously, there are two sides between this topic. There is a natural side, these people don’t think that we should be worrying about this, and that the causes of this climate change are natural. There is also the side of people who think this is all caused by humans. They say that we should be worrying about this climate change. But is it really that important? I have chosen to send this letter to you because you are a part of ohio and are important, but there is one thing. Climate change, it’s not that important right now. Not that we should never worry about, but there are other
One way that a simple person could start to help is by buying food locally. This would cause less pollution from factories and greenhouse gases from products drove or flown in. Furthermore, pay the bills online to help conserve trees. This could save 18.5 million trees every year. Along with this it could remove 2.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide/ other gases while getting rid of 1.7 billion pounds of solid waste. Lastly, a person could go about adjusting the thermostat a degree lower than what the temperature is outside in the winter and adjusting it a degree higher in the summer to save 10 percent on energy
I have devised a reasonable strategy to decrease our CO2 production. If we watch 34 hours less of television, and use the fans almost 78 hours less a week by turning them off when we are not home or when we are out of a room where a fan is on; we can save about 1161 pounds of CO2 alone. Lastly, instead of using a dishwasher, my family has agreed to take turns washing the dishes by hand and since I have a gas water heater it will further decrease the amount of CO2 production we are responsible for. My strategy is reasonable because If no one is in a room where a fan is on, then there is no reason for the fan to be running. Also, by limiting the amount of time my children spend in front of a television, I can save money on my electric bill too. Plus, my kids are doing more productive things with their time, like reading, coloring or playing with Lego's. If my family and I follow this strategy, then we will be saving a grand total of 1370.30 pounds of CO2 and $128.14 a year. With this project, I have learned that by adjusting the amount of time I have certain appliances on or by changing how often I use other appliances, I can, in fact, reduce not only the cost of my electric bill but also
We can involve climate change in our daily activities, like living in energy-efficient homes and energy-efficient places, Minimizing polluting transportation and eating less meat. According to Professor Jonathan Taylor, Southern California is one of the energy-efficient places in the U.S. Living in energy-efficient places would lead to less carbon emissions and minimizing transportation which does not cause a lot of pollution. Pollution leads to climate change. Buses and cars are major causes of pollution. Walking and cycling are healthier, does not cause pollution and good for your health. We should eat less meat because it leads to less greenhouse emissions (Taylor, 25th February).
Less than 56% is what the U.S. uses today than if we didn’t use energy-efficient technology. That makes 52 quads that we save each year. Using energy efficient things helps to not pollute.
In “Save the Earth, Buy Less” Jared Blumenfeld that “China will overtake the United States next year to become the world’s largest producer of greenhouse gases The most worrying threat to our planet at the present time is global warming. Global warming is a massive problem for one to solve, but we can create positive change by making environmentally-conscious personal choices and inspiring others to take collective action. I believe we all can take actions to reduce the global warming: we can reduce pollution, we can recycle products and we can conserve water. These all actions can contribute to making our planet a “greener” place to live.
Logan Evans Persuasive speech assignment outline June 18, 2018 Topic: Global warming, effects on our economy, our environment and our quality of life. General purpose: To Persuade Specific purpose: My audience will believe that global warming is real, that it is caused by mankind and that it is harmful to the world’s environment.
The average American has a carbon footprint of about 19.8 tons (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). That is equivalent to 40,000 pounds. Chances are, that without even knowing it, you have reduced your carbon footprint. If you have used a recyclable plastic bag to carry your organically grown fruits and vegetables from the store or used “green” products to clean your kitchen and non-chemical pesticides to kill the bugs in your garden, then you have reduced your carbon footprint. You might knowingly do this because you care about the environment and the health of the planet and your family or maybe, in part, because it’s considered socially unacceptable not to care.
You can also drive less, take shorter showers, save paper and lots of other things to help reduce ones carbon footprint. When it comes to traveling take a bike instead of your car or if you 're flying look for nonstop flights, because therefore you will be producing less greenhouse gas emissions compared to connecting flights.
I visualize America as a diversified nation filled with poverty, limited access to an amenity of education, followed by rising hot temperatures due to global warming. I can do no more than voice my opinion on this essay, therefore, why not? I believe that those are the three major issues the country faces today, but most certainly not all. My vision for America includes: a decrease in poverty, access to affordable, enrichment of education, and a more Earth-friendly environment. These issues have been stated, but it’s time to resolve them -for the better of our nation.
In short, if the aforementioned measures are undertaken, it would considerably reduce the number of planet earth required for my lifestyles by 0.2 in addition to usage of 6.7 tons of CO2 compared to 7.4 tons. Supplementary measures like use of renewable energy (e.g. solar energy) could also be considered. Nevertheless, consumers tend to avoid utilizing some energy efficient solutions (e.g. solar
If we don’t collaborate and decreases the levels of gasses added to our atmosphere , “Someday, our children, and our children’s children, will look at us in the eye and they’ll ask us, did we do all that we could when we had the chance to deal with this problem and leave them a cleaner, safer, more stable world?” - President Barack Obama, June 25, 2013Buy organically and locally grown foods. Avoid processed items. “ since 18 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions come from meat and dairy production”. Reduce emission in transit by; Flying less.”Aviation is responsible for 2% of manmade CO2 emissions worldwide”. Rely on public transportation, biking and walking when possible. Become informed, search and become familiar with the topic. Share it, not everybody is aware of climate change, how are we contributing to it and what can be done to decrease the percentage of gasses added to the greenhouse effect every year. Volunteer and donate, Find ways to help out the community. This includes but not limited to recycling and helping the environment
c) Replace your 3 most-used light bulbs with compact fluorescents. If every American home took this step, it would reduce this country’s CO2 emissions by about 1%.
Greenhouse gases come from such mainstays of modern life as electrical power plants, automobiles, and heavy industry. Growing consumption of fuel by less efficient cars and light trucks suggests that motor vehicles may soon overtake industry as the largest source of gases suspected of causing global warming by effectively creating a greenhouse around the Earth. Many people do not want to decrease their standard of living by reducing their consumption of fossil fuels. These people do not realize that if they reduce their consumption, there will be a reduction in the amount of greenhouse gases. If this does not happen and global warming continues, the long-term effects may be catastrophic.
You are probably wondering how to actually help stop global warming. You can do more green things but here are some simple things you can do. You can choose renewable energy source. Pick a energy supplier that
