The situation of gun control has been an issue for many years. The Second Amendment states that we as citizens have the right to bear arms and to protect ourselves. When the Constitution was first made the Second Amendment to the United States Constitution is the heart of the issue of gun control. It also states "A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed". The states declared that the Amendment was only created to allow the government to bear arms. The way it reads though is that it grants the rights of all people to bear arms. There have been cases brought before the Supreme Court that has fought the right to bear arms and used the amendment to protect their rights. The government does not have the right to take away the guns from the people but is able to control the manufacturing, sales, and possessions of guns.

The welfare system first came into action during the Great Depression of the 1930s. Unemployed citizens needed federal assistance to escape the reality of severe poverty. The welfare system supplies families with services such as: food stamps, medicaid, and housing among others. The welfare system does not give enough help for poor people. For example in “America’s Wandering Families” a lady received welfare assistance, but the welfare assistance was not enough for her, and her baby, so she started stealing food for her baby (America’s Wandering Families 259). That’s true since the welfares system does not give the poor people enough food or money to survive. They just give poor people help, for example, each month welfare gives poor people a certain amount of food stamp, and you can only buy food with that. Poor people can’t use food stamps to buy some other things like Colgate, toothbrush, clothes. They can only buy food and even that is not enough for food it’s just something that they can live with. The government should not control our gun rights. The government has a grip much too tight on gun control policies. Most people on welfare lose their human independence and feeling of dignity. They become subject to the dictates of their welfare supervisor, which tells them if they can live in certain areas or if they can buy a new phone. They are treated like children, not responsible adults.
