Kobe Bryant is one of the best basketball players to ever live. He is known for entering the NBA straight from high school instead of from college. Kobe also is the third highest scorer in the NBA. He is athletic, tall, and famous. This beast has earned two Olympic gold medals . Kobe even has his own shoe brand that millions of people wear today.
Kobe Bryant was born on August 13, 1978, in Philadelphia. He retired at age 37 and is still living and well. He used to be a basketball legend and is now a businessman. Named after a steakhouse in Japan. Kobe Bryant is the son of former NBA player Joe Bryant . After retiring Kobe played for the Italian league in Italy. He tore his achilles tendon in the second half while playing the Golden State Warriors on April 12, 2013. The injury took him out of the rest of the 2012-2013 season. In the third quarter in a game against the New Orleans Pelicans, Kobe tore his rotator cuff in his shoulder while attempting a dunk.He had 14 points against New Orleans and avoided using his right arm after returning in the fourth quarter. He took two left-handed shots, making a 14-foot turnaround but air-balling an eight-foot hook shot. He dribbled and passed almost exclusively with his left. Kobe also has stunning accomplishments. He worked hard for three championships consecutively. Kobe led the NBA in scoring from 2005-2007. In the 2008 Summer Olympics, he won a gold medal as a member of the U.S. men’s basketball team. He led the Lakers to two more NBA championships and being the Finals MVP on both occasions. He was selected to play in the All-Star Game 18 times. He also won the dunk contest in 1997. Kobe is also tied with Stephen Curry with three pointers in game with 12 until Stephen Curry broke that record with 13. In his final game, he became the oldest player to hit 60 points.
