On July 4th, 1776 our founding father's got together to create, “The Declaration of Independence” One of the quotes that benefit all U.S. citizens is that all people living in the United States are entitled to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness. Life, meaning every person has the right to live, to literally be alive. Liberty, meaning every person has the right to be whatever they choose, and to live their life however they want. The Pursuit of Happiness, meaning every person has the right to pursue happiness and do whatever makes them happy. These are inalienable rights that can never be taken away. Chris makes sure his son gets sleep and gets to eat. When he eats at the restaurants, his son is the only one eating. He wants to keep him happy, so he took him to a football game and got him a basketball. This shows that Chris cares for his son and he wants to keep him happy. This also shows that Chris wants to keep his son safe. Chris was able to take care of his son and to make him happy. Chris wanted him to have a better experience in life. Through perseverance, Chris achieves his goals by taking care of his son.

One might ask the importance of civil liberties after so many years. The answer is that we are all touched by these liberties every day. Even though civil liberties were embedded into the Bill of Rights in the late 1800’s, we today, as Americans, still have the right to be protected against any abusive power used by the government (Bianco & Canon, 2015, p. 106). One of the first people Chris meets is Jan Burres and her boyfriend Bob, “when he left, we never expected to hear from him again, but he made a point of staying in touch” (Krakauer 31). Raise your hands if you have heard the famous phrase, "Life, Liberty and Pursuit of Happiness". Wow- everybody, that's good! But do you all know what it means? According to the founding fathers, these are the essential rights endowed to humans. Does anyone know the three main parts of Declaration of Independence. (Wait for responses) The first part outlines the importance of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness and that all men are created equal. The second part describes the right to revolt against government and a listing of grievances against the King. Finally, of course, the last part is the colonists' official declaration of independence from England.

The Pursuit of Happyness is a critically acclaimed and multi award winning film directed by Gabriele Muccino. The movie was adapted by the New York Times best-selling book also called The Pursuit of Happyness written by Chris Gardner. The film reflects on the struggles that Chris had to face when he was an intern at a stock brokerage firm and had to provide for his son. The film deals with many major issues such as poverty, discrimination, struggle and homelessness.

However they try to promote them in schools, in court and in work. An African American and women do not have the same treatment as a Caucasian.
