During the course of this essay it is my intention to discuss the differences between Classical Hollywood and post-Classical Hollywood. Although these terms refer to theoretical movements of which they are not definitive it is my goal to show that they are applicable in a broad way to a cinema tradition that dominated Hollywood production between 1916 and 1960 and which also pervaded Western Mainstream Cinema (Classical Hollywood or Classic Narrative Cinema) and to the movement and changes that came about following this time period (Post-Classical or New Hollywood). I intend to do this by first analysing and defining aspects of Classical Hollywood and having done that,

The relationship between the teacher and the learner should always remain professional. In 1939 one of the most memorable film was released, The Wizard of Oz. In 1978 The Wiz, an urban reimaging of the exemplary novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz put an African American vibe to a film. The novel turned into films follows the adventures of Dorothy, a girl who embark on an adventure in strange and fantastical land just wanting to go back home. In this essay I’m going to plot each film and compare the main character of Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tin Man, Cowardly Lion and the Wiz and discuss how the design and music differ from each film.
The nutritional dietary consumption of carbohydrates is between 55-75% for the vast majority of the global population as their main source of food intake and energy. And the general populous continues to be misinformed by government agencies regarding what a normal, healthy diet, should be, as well as what a balanced diet looks like. Eating a low-carb high-fat, or ketogenic, diet of high fat, adequate protein and low carbohydrates can provide many health benefits as compared to the alternative of an unhealthy diet. Research suggests that a ketogenic diet builds a healthier body than

As the film begins to play, the sound of wind chimes fill the room as the audience gazes upon the beautiful and untouched hills. Taking it one step further, the ensemble begins to play fast piano chords and xylophones, while Stevens was on percussion and shaking the tambourine. The music was in sync with the opening credits, coordinating with the slow-motion bodies and white lines covering the screen.
The lighting of a film intricately ties into how the film intends on showing certain scenes through use of the camera angle. Such examples of this in Casablanca are how during these close-up scenes we see the lighting of certain characters light up significantly. This is seen, again, in the famous “Of all the gin joints scene” because of how the audience sees multiple close-up scenes of Isla’s face, most notably how we see the tears flow from Isla’s cheeks. Another way lighting plays into the classic feel of a Hollywood film, according to Bordwell, is how “a dark street will realistically motivate single-source lightning; the closeup of a woman will be more heavily diffused than that of a man” (Bordwell 27). One famous example of this is how the tension builds up when Isla returns to Rick’s nightclub after her husband goes to meet with a meeting with the local resistance against the Nazi regime. In this scene, we see how the lighting is much more darker than scenes where we are focusing on Rick and another character. Watching the film, the audience gets the sense that the film attempts to create a certain mood through the lighting whenever Isla and Rick are alone. When the two are alone, like in this very scene, the tension builds up due to how much darkness there is in both the room and between the two former lovers. Conversely, when there are conflicts between Rick and Captain Louis Renault, the French commander in the city, represented towards the end of the film before Isla and Victor leave the city, the lighting of the room is significantly more bright. This is not to say that there exists no conflict between Rick and the French captain, but rather how the film conforms to Bordwell’s description of how lighting contributes to a classic Hollywood
It is not uncommon that “the attention of the audience of a well-made film was almost never focused on the music” (James, 2009). King Kong (1933) could be defined as one of the most profound film in the film industry. While, it is a group of bass brass instruments create a mysterious sense in King Kong (1933) and the chequered composition contributes a dissonant musical motivation throughout the entire film as a basic atmosphere. Moreover, the strong love of King Kong is described by the repetition of a few notes, which is just the pretty simple melody of the piano, the woodwind and the violins.
The scores composed for this film had a great impact on bringing such an amazing book series to life. Each piece was composed to express the feelings of each circumstance the character or characters went through. The piece “Fawkes The Phoenix” was composed for one of the movies of this series. It expresses the changes that the main character, Harry Potter, has undergone and also the changes he will go through in the future. “A Window to the Past” is another piece written for the series.
The popular music had a great influence in changing the way the film industry uses music today. This change in popular music used in films could be seen from the years 1940’s through 1970’s. During the post war era people really began liking jazz music, it was becoming more and more commonly heard. In 1944 Laura became the film that incorporated popular music. The music in the film was composed
Each of the filmic tracks can potentially develop an autonomous temporality entering into complex relations with the other tracks. Film 's multitrack nature makes it possible to stage contradiction between music and image... A quoted piece of music, with its own rhythm and continuity can accompany an image track characterized by a different rhythm and continuity. Thus the cinema offers possibilities of disunity and disjunction not immediately available to the novel. The possible contradictions between tracks can become an aesthetic resource.
