As a course of life, people are born, raised, and go to school until the time comes where they need to make a decision about their career. In fact, most careers have one common theme among them---Help or give back to community and society. I for one have chosen a career in nursing to help people and give back to my community. Other than the fact that I want to help people, a career in nursing will expand my horizons, give me career opportunities, and job satisfaction.
Nursing is a noble profession that will help me expand my horizon by letting me focus outside of myself and my self-interest. By focusing outside of myself, I will get to be an advocate for people’s health and a humanitarian who will have a chance to see the other aspect of medical
Going into the nursing program at Colorado Christian University means so much to me. I have been to a couple different colleges but at that time I wasn’t sure what I wanted to go for. Now, I know exactly what my goal is and what I want to achieve with school. I currently work as a Hospice CNA, I love my job. I will be the first out of my parents and mothers side of the family to graduate from a four year college. Also, being a nurse is something I’ve always dreamed about. Working as a hospice CNA has really made me value life and has opened my eyes to nursing. I love being there for my patients and their families. I truly feel like this is my purpose on earth to help others. I feel so rewarded to be able to take care of these people that cannot
I want to pursue a career in medicine by working in the field of nursing. Specifically, after graduating from Illinois State University, I plan to start working in pediatrics to help me become a certified pediatric nurse. A bachelor's degree from ISU’s Mennonite College of Nursing is a good fit for my educational goals because of your high freshman retention, graduation, and pass rates for national and state licensure examinations. ISU has an excellent academic reputation, and because I am someone who takes my academics seriously, academic quality is important to me. After seeing the campus tour videos, looking at your majors, and learning about the Traditional BSN program, I knew ISU was the school for me. I know that at ISU I can develop the skills necessary for success first in college, then in the nursing field.
Currently I am working as a Registered Nurse in the adult medical intensive care unit. A job in advanced practice will be different from the current job in many ways. I will acquire the skills and competencies required for an advance practice through my master’s level education and clinical experience. The population of focus of my care will change from adults to all ages of the lifespan. I can provide health care to all members of the family and can focus even more on health promotion and disease prevention strategies. Advance practice in a primary care area will help to identify the resources of a family as a single unit, will assist me to help families in attaining the optimal level of health. The scope of practice will change,
As I contemplate why I am choosing the Acute Nurse Practitioner Program I look back to my childhood. This desire to serve others started as far back as I can remember. I wanted nothing more than to care for any relative that would let me, I dreamed of becoming a nurse at a very young age. I felt a strong connection to the compassion and dedication of the nurses I had the opportunity to know and work with volunteering in my local hospitals. However, I placed my dream aside in 2006 and joined the United States Air Force. I served my country here at home, overseas, and the Middle East. During this time, I volunteered at Landstuhl Regional Hospital in Germany, with the Red Cross, in patient care. I was privileged to work with many outstanding nurses that mentored me.
Please accept my candidacy for the Patient Care Director position on 14 South. I am confident that through my professional experience, committee memberships and education, I have developed the knowledge, skills and leadership abilities necessary to be a successful addition to your leadership team.
This community is filled with firemen, humanitarians, scientists, teachers, and lawyers. However, amongst the individuals who give pride to our community there are thieves, killers, rapists, terrorist, extortionists, and the list continues. Witnessing the damaged people that walk among us, gives me the desire to pursue medical field, insuring the compassion I have for others. There is no level of damage one could do that will prohibit me from fully performing the duties I need to be fulfill as a Registered Nurse. Whenever I help someone in need, I do not need any sort of recognition from the world for helping my fellow brothers and sisters. Also, I do not think I'm somehow superior to those who do not help others when they have to ability to do so. I will never help someone to impress society, but only to insure their well being.
Since I was young, I have always had the overwhelming desire to help people in a healthcare setting. Observing the nurse anesthetist (CRNA) in the OR was an eye-opening experience in which I was honored to participate in through an internship, and I knew right away that that’s what I wanted to be. Whomever came into the hospital with pain or in need of a procedure left feeling as mentally and physically pain free as possible, and this was inspiring to me as I wish to provide that for patients as well. Furthermore, I would like to be able to be an advocate, support system, and caring hand for patients when they don’t have anyone else to turn to. Having the opportunity to form a relationship with patients in these ways, and to help lead them down the road of recovery, has become a burning passion of mine that I’m determined to work hard for.
While roaming through life’s path, have you ever found yourself trapped between two directions? This happens too frequently, but there are those who remain trapped and there are those who advance. I chose to be happy, in spite of the many challenges. I motivated myself to fight, even though it meant to feel weak. The person, who I am now, will never be who I was before. I have learned that true beauty doesn’t rely on faking a smile, but having reasons to smile and to dream. As a student, I have many goals, but my ultimate goal is to help people. Although I am limited in resources, I know that I can be well prepared to assist others. I strive to become a pediatric nurse, to not only work with children but their family as well. “For my purpose is not to be served, but to serve others”.
You can plan every event in your life and most likely, that plan will not be the same as you originally envisioned. Life does not work that way; instead, you must be willing to work with the unexpected paths life takes you on. As the son of a mom that works as a registered nurse, I've heard many stories and learned many lessons from her, being introduced to the world of the medical field at an early age. From being with her, I've heard many stories about her patients and see such a strong woman shaped by her experiences, continuing to give to patients in her care, time and time again. I'm happiest being able to help people regardless of the situation and in this vein, I want to extend my time and make the most of my life helping others which
Growing up, I often cared for my younger siblings while our mother was busy working a full time job. I acknowledged my passion for lending a hand. This allowed me to experience what it is like to care for an individual at a very young age. This was my calling, which is why I decided to enroll in a high school that would give me opportunities to explore a career where I helped others in the medical field. I am passionate about health care and my passion can be seen through the number of college health classes I have committed to.
I used to work as a registered nurse in Samoa for the past 10 years. I recently resigned from NHS in 2012 as a registered nurse and accepted an offer from SENESE Inclusive Education to work with children with special needs. This is with regard to my plan of developing and enhancing my skills as a registered nurse, taking advantage of the perspective of disabilities as other areas of health we also work with. From then on I developed an interest in becoming the first speech language therapist for Samoa in order to work with children and adults who have communication and swallowing disorders. I have noticed from my background as a nurse, our people deserve this service.
I have had the luxury of being part of the nursing profession for last 10 years. With an Advance Practice Nursing degree, I feel like I would be able to serve patients even more. It has always been my ambition to care for people, through all ages of the life span in a family focused setting. This then directed me to join in a Family Nurse Practitioner program. As each day goes by, I am taking every opportunity I can get to absorb and learn to provide the best evidence- based care to my patients. Having a family and being a mother of two will better prepare me for the in depth thinking regarding family needs and resources to provide effective patient care.
After graduating from Elk City High School I plan to go to the Southwestern Community College on the Sayre campus. I would like to go to school for nursing and become a registered nurse. I plan to go to SWOSU for four years to achieve the goals I have set for myself. I have always had an interest in the medical field, even as a child. Helping others has always been something I love to do. I feel going to college and becoming a nurse would allow to help a great deal of people and hopefully touch many others. After graduating College I plan to use me degree and get a job in the nursing field. I plan to start my life and support myself and become a productive member of society. I personally feel I should be considered for this scholarship because
During my time in the health field I would like to accomplish coming out of college with a bachelors degree in nursing. Something that motivates me in studying nursing is while growing up I saw how bad my care givers struggled because they did not finish college and had to settle with less because in today's time you have to have at-least 2-4 years of college to get a decent job and watching them settle for less is something I don't want to do. One day after dinner my dad was just walking through the house and just fell out on the floor and started seizing, everyone was freaking out about it but I remembered talking about in my introduction to healthcare class that when someone is having a seizure you should always make sure there is nothing
To whom it may concern, I (Applicants name), would like to introduce myself to you the committee, and tell you a little about myself, my dreams and my goals, to show that I am a perfect match for what you are looking for in a nursing student and future nurse. I am currently a twenty six years old and a graduate from the University of Texas in Austin. I spent four year pursuing a career in education, which was a good career, but there was something missing. It was not until I volunteered in a nursing home that I fell in love with nursing and decided to change career paths. I obtained my Certified Nurses Aide license as well as my Medication Aide license, and I currently work at the Medical Resort bay area. I have gained so much knowledge of
