Year on year improvements in learner achievements have raised learner employability levels and earning power, improved self confidence and has provided a pathway to employment for disadvantaged and disaffected groups. Employment Trainings purchasing policy ensures that wherever possible goods made from sustainable and /or recycled materials are used. We have introduced the customer service NVQ into paperless environment by recording professional discussions onto tape and carrying out online examinations. We have also maximized the use of electronic mail and recording systems which has had a marked effect on the reduction of paper. The centre is approved to deliver NVQ’s in welsh, however current figures indicate that learning through the medium of welsh is not required by our learners at present. Nevertheless, we have a number of welsh speaking staff in order to be able to accommodate learner needs in the Carmarthenshire area. Employment Training runs a successful recycling programme: • Computer recycling – computers are repaired and upgraded, then donated back into communities, the voluntary sector and to needy individuals. • Green waste from our extensive community projects
Leadership is all about having the right amount of heart and determination to help make a difference in someone’s life. It takes certain qualities to be considered a good leader. A leader should want to help inspire others to make a change and to be the best that they can be. A true leader does not need to feel powerful, instead they empower those around them. Throughout my life I have come across various leaders who have made an impact on my life. It takes a very special person to inspire and touch people’s lives. Leadership is so much deeper than having power and bossing people around.
