There is a phrase that is ¨death brings out the best and the worst in families.¨ This is true for the story of Romeo and Juliet because they both died, which is the only reason why the two families ended their feud. Who knows if the feud would have been broken if Romeo and Juliet didn't end up dying like they did. That shows that the two families had to go through a very sad event in order for them to realize that their feud is what actually caused it. They were too blindsighted to see that they were the ones who caused the tragic event. ¨First let me be clear about one thing—you are not alone. Not even close! So many people can relate to family fighting after a death. What’s the number one source of conflict? Belongings and money. As hard as it is for many of us to admit, countless families who never imagine there would be conflict over material things are suddenly overwhelmed by disagreement and power struggles.¨(What's your grief). Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare, tells the tale of two young lovers whose lives end in great tragedy. What makes their story so tragic is that despite their love for one another, their families are mortal enemies. Conflict is a central ingredient in Romeo and Juliet's sad fate. Ultimately they are defeated by the conflicts of person vs person, person vs self, and person vs society.
Romeo and Juliet is a story based on conflict. The conflict in the story is Capulet against Montague. From ancient times, the two families have held grudges against each other. As the book states. “Two households, alike in dignity...from ancient grudge break to new mutiny. Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean (1.Prologue.1-4).” The grudge between the two families has led to fighting and even death.

The first mistake that Friar Laurence made was to agree to marry the two in secret and without the permission of their parents. The next bad advice he gave, was when he instructed Juliet to fake her own death. The last wrong thing was giving the message for Romeo to an unreliable messenger. If any of these events did not take place, their deaths could’ve been avoided.
The play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet written by William Shakespeare reveals the tale of two star-crossed lovers forbidden love in the town of Verona. Coming from opposing families, both Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet are forced to keep their relationship a secret. The Capulets compulsion for Juliet to marry County Paris, a wealthy fellow, causes Juliet to take impetuous and risky actions. In the same degree, the bitterness of Capulet, Tybalt towards Romeo inflicts him to react fool heartedly. The family’s attitude of hatred is responsible for the impulsiveness of Romeo and Juliet.
After Romeo and Juliet meet, they instantly fall in love, but considering they are star crossed lovers, the feud makes it impossible for the two to have any sort of relationship. This is the sole reason that Romeo and Juliet die at the end of the play. Because the families are enemies, there is no chance that they can marry. Also, Tybalt, a Capulet, hates Romeo and kills Mercutio, a Montague. Romeo is challenged to a fight by Tybalt and Tybalt ends up dying.
In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, the unfortunate events, and ultimately the untimely deaths of the main characters are caused by the feuding of the Montagues and the Capulets. They are at fault because they are constantly fighting with each other both physically and verbally. The feud prevents Romeo from asking Juliet to marry him with their parent’s knowledge. Their parents’ fighting also encouraged Romeo and Juliet to do some pretty risky things so that they can still see each other!
In Romeo and Juliet, these two star-crossed lovers faced many obstacles, the first of many was their family feud. The Montague and Capulet families had been in a feud for as long as anyone can remember. This did not stop Romeo and Juliet from loving each other, in fact, they got secretly married thinking that this would solve their family feud “These violent delights have violent ends and in their triumph die, like fire and powder, which, as they kiss, consume. The sweetest honey is loathsome in his own deliciousness and in taste confounds the appetite. Therefore love moderately.
Romeo and Juliet introduces us to a long lasting feud carried through many generations and brought upon two families children. “Two households, both alike in dignity / In fair Verona, where we lay our scene, / From ancient grudge break to new mutiny, / Where civil blood makes civil hands unclean” (Shakespeare Prologue.1-4). Feuds all around the world separate people and cause problems. Feuds don't solve anything, they make things worse. Poor communication and bad advice do often lead to misunderstanding and disaster. In William Shakespeare's tragic story, Romeo and Juliet, Two young kids fall in love with each other, despite their family's beliefs. The Capulets and Montagues are sworn enemies to each other. However, they share things in common; they want the best for their children, as they have hate for each other. In Romeo and Juliet, their relationships between the parents and their children proves rebellious historically and presently, as their miscommunication and interactions lead to tragic death. Romeo and Juliet's parents would despise them being together because of the family feud. They tend to have very rebellious acts as they want to be together. As their relationships with their parents was not the finest, it lead to them being lovers to death.
Family is a prominent point as the main conflict stems from a clash between the two main families: the Montagues and the Capulets. The two families have been at odds for a long time before the events of the play. They quarrel often on the streets of Verona, prompting a serious threat from the Prince early on in the tragedy. He says, “If you ever disturb our streets again, your lives shall pay the forfeit of the peace. (874)” This is equally a warning as well as a premonition of the deaths that will ultimately create “peace” between the two families. That peace created at the end is also somewhat questionable. The two families decide to build statues to honor Romeo and Juliet. Even at this time, there is a slight feeling that they are still trying to best one-up each other, with Montague saying, “But I can give thee more for I will raise her statue in pure gold. (890)” We have no idea whether the so-called peace will last or fall apart like everything else that has broken because of the impermanent nature of things in the time of Romeo and
