CMSRU’s commitment to providing excellent patient care and service to every community resonates with my personal aspirations and principles in delegating resources to every community equally, which is in fact my primary motive to pursue medicine.
Moreover, the fact that CMSRU has an emphasis on research coincides with my future goals. In my experiences from hospitals to the labs at Hunter College, I’ve realized that through my research I can make an impact in the field of medicine. This has driven me to grow into an ever-learning medical professional dedicated to helping those who need it.
I feel that I match the mission of CMSRU because I have seen first-hand the hardships that our world has, and still, endures. I know the true importance
I hope to build lasting relationships with the members and faculty. The close-knit network of faculty and students seem to provide resources to help current undergraduates achieve success in their endeavors in the health field. Being a part of this network will supply me with resources to successfully achieve my goals in medicine.
When I was a child, I frequently would wander off to the family library. While there, I would stealthy grab a book off the enormous mahogany bookshelf and run to my back to my bedroom, hoping my foot steps were not heard trotting against the hardwood floor. After months of late night reading, my favorite genre became medical thriller novels. It absolutely fascinated me. I admired the doctors and their clever tactics and approaches to the interpretation of a diagnosis. I have know from the time that I was ten years old, I was meant to become a doctor. Over the years, I had become increasingly interested in the world of medicine and our country’s research programs as well. As I searched for a university that could enrich and prepare me for both of those fields. I discovered that Stanford University is distinguished in these
3. Researching at the Mercer University School of Medicine: I believe that doing research at a medical school can help set me apart from some other
Cooper Medical School’s commitment to active learning and group dynamics, especially through the Ambulatory clerkship, is in congruence with my own ability to learn effectively through the employment of classroom knowledge to practical endeavors. Furthermore, CMSRU is a school that believes in active engagement with the community. My own experiences with teaching and volunteering have strengthened my resolve to contribute not only to medicine, but also to public policy and education at CMSRU. In addition, I am Roman Catholic by religion and Indian by ethnicity. Hence, diversity has been a constant theme in my life, which was further enhanced by my immigration to America. At CMSRU, I will not only be able to learn from a diverse environment but also be able to contribute my own unique perspective to policies and activities. All things considered, I am certain that the opportunities and curriculum at CMSRU will provide me with the medical training necessary to be a successful physician.
From paper-editing in the Carroll Science Building, the offices in the BSB to help students prepare for medical school, and the continuous support of professors, it is clear that the Baylor community will assist me in any way I need. Being a top-ranked research university, Baylor also has many opportunities for undergraduates to assist in research. I never thought that I would be interested in research until I witnessed actual labs at Baylor from laparoscopy to neuroscience; they made me consider the endless experiences it could
As research will always be an integral part of the future of medicine, I hope to contribute by conducting meaningful research as a physician. My work in a research study involving out-of-hospital cardiac arrest opened my eyes to how discovering new medical knowledge can change how treatment is given, and can have a lasting impact on patient outcomes. Consequently, I hope to participate in clinical research during my medical school career. I believe I will have ample opportunities to pursue research at Georgetown University through the Independent Scholarly Project and various research projects requiring student participation, ultimately providing me the background knowledge for my future
The location of the school is close to my family. Also, there is a strong collaboration throughout the community. This is seen through the creation of Societies, which shows an attention and support for every student. The college’s focus on patient and community centered medicine and commitment to continual improvement will
TCMC’s mission and values personally resonates with my own ideals important to me in medicine. The focus on patient-centered, community based medicine, and various values are the very principles I hope to learn and demonstrate in my future as a physician. Through my experiences I have come to see the importance of connecting and building a strong trust between a doctor and patient. I shadowed a chiropractor whose philosophy was in treating the person as a whole rather than a list of symptoms to be fixed. Seeing the impact on his patient’s health over treatments, I became intrigued with the benefits of this philosophy. Also, as a medical assistant, I observed Dr. Jaber develop amazing patient-physician relationships, which I believed had a crucial
The FIU Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine's promise of a nurturing environment in addition to its mission, vision and values symbolizes an institution that strongly resonates with my own personal goals as a future physician whose qualities are guided by the background of research, efficiency, and community involvement. The concept that structures a successful research are the fundamentals that apply to medicine, beginning with a theory, prediction, experimentation and finally observation; fundamentals realized and understood throughout my undergraduate year. On my first day, my research advisor said that I should strive for excellence and I should not be halted by the failures I may experience, instead, learn from those failures and adapt. Keeping this ideology in mind I was able to assist my team towards the completion of our project.
I appreciate that LECOM offers the opportunity for students that have already obtained a Bachelor of Science degree, to continue their education with the pursuit of a professional career in healthcare. Only LECOM-Bradenton offers the kind of collaborative experience that suits my professional goals and personal needs. The flexibility, perseverance, and patience of the faculty combined with the talent and determination of the students makes LECOM a singular choice for my graduate studies. Just as the institution is eager to continue embracing the ever-changing world of healthcare and medicine, I too embody this same distinguishing quality. Throughout my undergraduate experiences I have learned in order to be a steward and servant of the medical profession one must exercise teamwork, compassion, empathy, and optimism; all of which coincide with the tenets that are declared by the LECOM-Bradenton
Guided by six core values cura personalis, magis, men and women for and with others, unity of mind and heart, contemplatives in actions, and finding God in all things, the goal of Regis University is to prepare students to think broadly and achieve goals beyond themselves. Regis university is a co-educational Jesuit University established in 1877 that offers a wide range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctor of philosophy (Ph.D) programs. . Regis University is ranked among top universities in the country. I chose Regis University to pursue my bachelor degree in Computer Information Systems (CIS), and it is one of the best choices of my life to achieve my academic goals.
The values of the CMU College of Medicine strongly resonates with mine. I was raised in a major urban city in Syria. However, most of my best friends lived in the suburb and rural parts of the city. I had a firsthand experience observing their families’ struggles to access health care. They would have to drive at least 45 minutes to reach a medical center to receive treatment. That always made me think about the roles one can play to overcome this major problem. I believe in the importance of dedicating the efforts and resources to serve the underserved through establishing special institutions and programs tailored to this purpose. The rural parts of any state or country should never be at a disadvantage compared to the city. I would love
More importantly, Cornell prepares students for a world that increasingly demands critical thinking, professional and cultural experience, and a willingness to achieve. There are an infinite number of branches within the field of medicine I have not yet considered, but if I were to attend Cornell University’s College of Arts and Sciences, I know I will gain enough understanding, enough opportunities to explore them all. Maybe one day in the future, I will add my research and medical contributions to the Bodies exhibit and inspire another young boy or girl to pursue
Aiming to assist discovering unfamiliar treatments and explanations to obscure illnesses and medical cases, the dissatisfaction with my sense of purpose would cease. Undergraduate research will provide a more thorough perception of the concepts I discovered within the classroom, in addition to the experience of revealing advanced conclusions to contemporary issues. Generating a more concrete pathway to becoming a cardiothoracic surgeon, I would immerse myself into the medical field as an undergraduate student and discover the tedious difficulties individuals would endure in the medical field as well as my determination to withstand the frustration and
Within the next two decades, NASA plans on executing the first manned mission to Mars in history, an event which the world would remember as more monumental than landing on the Moon. My entire life I have dreamed of being able to witness such a great leap in science. Growing up would watch movies like Star Wars, enthralled by the prospect of space travel and exploring new and exciting worlds. I loved reading science fiction, which allowed one to experience this thrill of exploration right alongside its characters and really see what it may feel like to take part in all the action and excitement. As a result, nothing has made me more enthusiastic than the fact that these first manned missions to other planets may happen right in a time when I could take part in them. In taking steps to fulfill this dream, I am applying to Carnegie-Mellon’s College of Engineering for a degree in mechanical engineering.
