Chapter 8
1. What point does the author illustrate with an elephant and 4 blind men?
…Comparing it to the way people describe and see life and the world
2. Do Moslem leaders claim that Christianity and Islam are alike in that Allah was “the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ?”
No
3. What are the 4 questions that Darwinians have not been able to answer?
- Where is the missing link
- How can man evolve to be the apex of living beings if the fact suggest the process of evolution goes the other way
- Where life originated.
- Refuse to believe or even explore data that suggest intelligent design.

3. What is Fiat Creationism?
Typically conservative orthodoxy has tended to support this view. Basically, fiat creationism holds that God, by direct acts, brought into being virtually everything that exists.
4. What is Deistic Evolution?
This view basically claims that God began the process of evolution within the context of created matter.
5. What is Theistic Evolution?
Similar in certain respects to deism, theistic evolutionteaches that God began the creative process by bringing the first organism to life.
6. What is Progressive Creationism?
This view combines the view of specific de novo (flesh or from nothing) creative acts with in-moment or processive operations of life.
7. Which two possibilities of Creationism does the author say are closest to scripture?
From the four possiblilties,
- Fiat Creation
- Progressive Creation
Are in closer harmony with the testimony of the Scripture.
"Creation in the Image of God"
1. T/F: All of creation is created in the image of God.
False,
2. T/F: The image of God in man solely refers to his immaterial nature.
True,
3. T/F: Only Christians maintain the image of God.
(False)
4. T/F: The image of God in man was lost as a result of the fall of man.
(False)
5. What four primary aspects are included in the image
1. What are the current challenges facing United Way? What are key issues in the general and non-profit charitable giving industry environments that affect United Way’s operations?
The first boundary of theistic evolution states that there is a God, but He was not directly involved in the origin of life. According to this view, God created the building blocks and natural laws with the eventual emergence of life in mind. However, early on He stepped back and let His creation take over. He let it do what it was designed to do, and life eventually emerged from non-living material. This view is similar to atheistic evolution in that it presumes a naturalistic—albiet God-designed and ordained—origin of life. Atheistic evolution also assumes that life emerged naturally from preexisting, non-living building blocks under the influence of natural laws. However, according to atheistic evolution, there is no God, and the origin
Evolution is the theory that every organic thing has originated from a single living organism. Evolutionary principles are widely accepted
Since the dawn of time, man has believed that there is a higher power, an all-powerful, all-knowing being that controls everything. Christians refer to this being as God, and believe that He is orderly, loving, and rational. They also believe that He created the modern world and everything in it. All that they believe is true. However, many dislike this belief because God holds them responsible for their actions. Therefore they have turned to the false belief of evolution, which claims that there is no Creator and that the world came into being through natural processes. It says that life came into being through spontaneous generation and “evolved” from so-called simple invertebrate organisms into fish, which evolved into amphibians, which evolved into reptiles, which evolved into birds, which evolved into mammals,
What made thing's the way they are today? How did we become the dominant species on this planet? For thousand's of years we have been trying to discover answers to questions like these. Scientists went hard at work to discover new things about the origins of our species. The theories of evolution theory in biology postulating that the various types of plants, animals, and other living things on Earth have their origin in other preexisting types and that the distinguishable differences are due to modifications in successive generations.(Britannica) Understanding our origins can allow us to understand why the world around us is the way it is. According to Websters, Evolution is defined as
Evolution is change in the heritable traits of biological populations over successive generations. Or if you believe in evolution you are an atheist, or you just might not believe in the Genesis creation. Now creation is the belief that the universe and life originated from acts of divine creation. For young Earth creationist this includes literalist interpretation of the Genesis creation theory and the scientific and the theory of evolution.
Just as there are two sides to every story, there are two major sides to the story that is our Earth’s history. An ever-clashing “battle”, so to speak, between a religious and evolutionary outlook continues exist as a heated dispute. One side contains the scientific community which mainly uses proof of evolution to explain our upbringing, while the other side lies the creationists- those who believe in the use of biblical means and an intelligent ruler for explanation. Regardless of controversial turmoil, I believe that the two standpoints of Evolution and Creationism may coexist to explain our creation.
Furthermore, to state a clear definition of creationism, appear as the belief that life and all the universe were created by a supernatural authority, intelligent and benevolent God. On the other hand, evolution is the process which states that all different kinds of living things and organisms developed from other forms, during the Earth’s history.
First off, creationism is the belief that the universe and living organisms originate from specific acts of God, as in the biblical account, rather than by natural processes such as evolution or big bang theory. This is a way of knowing however, this has been around forever, and many people from the past believe that God created the world. The view of creationism has impacted many people. For example, on reading “Not the God you Pray To” by Adam Frank states that “Newton was passionate in his belief that there existed a God of absolute power who can and did intervene directly in the human and natural worlds.” Which means that Newton was a God believer and he use his faith to pursue his life.
It was stated that Darwinism refutes typology. From the time of the Pythagoreans and Plato, the general concept of the diversity of the world emphasized its invariance and stability. Darwinism rejects all supernatural phenomena and causations. The theory of evolution by natural selection explains the adaptedness and diversity of the world solely materialistically. It no longer requires God as the creator or designer .Darwin pointed out that creation, as described in the bible and the origin accounts of other cultures, was contradicted by almost any aspect of the natural world. Randolph M. Nesse & George C. Williams.
Creationism is the doctrine which God brings individual human souls into existence at birth. Creationists has this idea that the world and creatures was created in six days and it was accounted in the bible, in the book of “Genesis 1- 31” not the scientific process, however it was not explain how God created the world. Scientists cannot find out or investigate about the creation processes that God used.
I don't particularly like the Dysteleological and Deistic views of evolutionism. The deistic view of evolution mentions that God began creation then became
Despite the fact that most scientists look at Creationism as an unscientific theory, creationists take their ideas seriously and have some strong sources of argumentation to support their assumptions. Creationists support their ideas arguing that the living beings are so complex that they must have been created by a higher being. Furthermore, the lack of clarity and failures found in others theories are what most support Creationism. For example, some variations within a specie which are used as an argument to prove evolutionists theories are sometimes also used by creationists as an argument to contradict Evolutionism. According to creationists, variation in individuals’ characteristics within a specie is possible and called microevolution, but these variations are never big enough to originate another specie. “What has never been scientifically demonstrated – in spite of many examples of wishful thinking – is macro evolution, or the change from one distinct species to another. Dogs have never evolved into birds or human beings.” (“Microevolution…”) Even though Creationism have general ideas, there are still subdivisions in this theory. Young Earth Creationism interprets the Bible (Genesis) literally. This theory defends that the Earth and everything in it, including all species, were created by
Creationists believe in a divine creator, God. Creationism has a broad range of beliefs involving a reliance on God’s miraculous work to explain the origin of the universe, of life, and of the different kinds of plants and animals on Earth. According to the
When thinking about the origin of life, there are two main points one can come to, Intelligent Design or Natural Process (Ken Ham, 2008). “According to the former view, supernatural intervention was essential for the creation of life; according to the latter, living organisms could form spontaneously—for example, from the mud of the Nile” (Encyclopedia of Philosophy, 2006). Creation can be defined as the original bringing into existence of the universe by God (“Creation”, n.d.). Intelligent design can be defined as “certain features” (Ken Ham, 2008). Intelligent Design can also be explained by finding features of the earth and explaining them by an intelligent cause ("Intelligent Design", n.d.). Creationism usually starts with religious
