The NFL like all other sports went through an expansion draft in 1995 allowing the Carolina Panthers to become an NFL franchise. Thus allowing the growth of one of the more underrated fan bases to be born. Although, I wasn't born early enough to see this franchise from the beginning I've been around long enough to learn the Queen city loves their Panthers no matter what! This franchise has been through it all the magical Super Bowl run with the cardiac cats 2003 and a few forgettable years most recently a 2-14 showing in 2010. It wasn't all lost because we were able to draft our franchise quarterback Cam Newton and bring optimism to the Queen City once again! Through all that this fan base has stayed loyal and are beginning to see consistent
The Florida Panther is currently an endangered species of cougar that resides in the southern forests and swamps of Florida. While it is a species of the cougar, it is identified as a panther to be able to clearly distinguish between the other southernmost species of cougar in the United States. The Florida Panther is a carnivore with a diet based on the animals native to their region such as deer, wild hogs, and other small game like rabbits or raccoons. Normally they are solitary animals, their homes range from 75-150 square miles of terrain, and while some homes may overlap it will not be by a lot. This overlap normally comes from females, for mating reasons but due to them being solitary, they are extremely aggressive towards other males
Many men go to work every single day, making big money for other people, and are the best at what they do in the country, yet they still do not get a chance to get a raise or promotion. The College Football Playoffs (CFP) decides the best college football team in the nation and declares an outright National Champion. The #4 Ohio State Buckeyes were crowned National Champions of the first ever College Football Playoffs and almost did not even get into the playoff. Even though there is a better system in place than the Bowl Championship Series, the CFP has imperfections. The playoff should be expanded to 8 teams to give a better idea of who the best team in the nation is that year, because often times some
gets better and better. Next, Cam and the Panthers Have only one loss and are probably going to win the superbowl. Last, every time Cam gets a touchdown he gives the football to a little kid. Those are the reason fans love Cam Newton.
Jumping right into the fray, the NFC South has a truly intriguing three-way race between the Carolina Panthers, New Orleans Saints, and the defending NFC champion Atlanta Falcons. New Orleans (7-2) currently holds a half-game game lead over Carolina, and while the Panthers have been a consistent NFC threat since Ron Rivera took the helm in 2011, the same cannot be said
What a difference a year makes for the Carolina Panthers and coach Ron Rivera. Last season we were just starting our magical run just realizing our potential and proving to the NFL that we were a team that needed to be taken seriously. Fast forward a year we are chasing perfection and have a legitimate shot at the Lombardi trophy with the playoffs potentially coming through the Queen city. The players are the ultimate deciders of what happened with game by game, but I feel when coach Ron Rivera adopted his alter ego riverboat Ron taking chances going for it on fourth downs putting trust in his guys to make the plays and ready to take the criticism if they didn't work out.
It was a mild day outside in Charlotte, North Carolina. Yes, this is football weather. Weather for the Carolina Panthers, coming off a solid 12-4 regular season. Little did they know, however, that it would be Steve Smith’s final game in Carolina. Steve Smith was the greatest wide receiver to ever play for the Carolina Panthers. He is predicted to even enter the Hall of Fame, but not before being a draft steal in the 3rd round and having a stellar rookie season.
The Carolina Panthers selected Cam newton as #1 draft pick in 2011. He quickly became the best player in the NFL in 2011 with throwing more than 21 touchdowns and over 4000 yards to earn the Offensive player of the year honors. Ever since he was drafted, he has been one of the league's stars. He also became one of the most dynamic players in NFL history. In 2015, Newton had a career record of 35 touchdowns and only 10 interceptions, and rushed for 10 more touchdowns. He also received the NFL MVP award. He led the panthers to a 15-1 record and made it to the Super Bowl. But then lost in Super Bowl 50 against Payton Manning and the Bronco's.
Education always came after football. In the beginning of the book, It talks about what kids were into, I did not read anything that had to do with school school was really not priority in the permian high school kids there just barely keeping afloat. “ in 1975, the average SAT score on the combined math and verbal section at permian was 936 for seniors class of 1988-89 the average combined SAT score was 85 points lower.” Boobie was affected by this because he was a special educated person so
With nine national championships, 74 first-team All-Americans, and 712 all-time wins, the Pitt Panthers have long been one of college football’s premier programs. Few schools can rival the players my dad and grandpa grew up watching, such as Tony Dorsett and Dan Marino. What do they have in common? Both played at historic Pitt Stadium, home of the Panthers since 1925. This, along with the iconic Pitt Script logo and their royal blue and mustard yellow color scheme, gave Pitt an unmistakable identity.
The Carolina Panthers are an NFL expansion team, owned and founded by Jerry Richardson. In 1987 Jerry Richardson brought up the idea to bring a team to the Carolina. Then in 1988 Jerry completed a financing plan for four possible stadium sites, two in North Carolina and two in South Carolina. Finally in, 1992, at an NFL owners meeting, they
Another key factor is the development of downtown Charlotte including the best minor-league ballpark since opening last season; paired with Bank of America Stadium downtown has become a great atmosphere for fans of all ages to enjoy the sports the Queen city has to offer! Another great thing about sports the fans that have been a part of Panther nation from the beginning are now carrying on the tradition their parents started when they were younger and now are PSL owners cheering on the Panthers season after season passing on the joy to their kids. It's amazing the trickle-down effect sports can have on fans and what that has done for the Queen city. I'm an example of that as my first Panther game was when I was six years old and I am now 19
The Panthers seem like they should have nothing to worry about. Their biggest threat in the NFC, the Arizona Cardinals, lost the key to their great defense in Tyrann Mathieu. He was a dark horse candidate to win Defensive Player of the Year, and with him gone, the Cardinals offense will have to ramp it up yet another notch. They can still be a threat to the Panthers, but more than likely, they won't be, no matter how well the
The Carolina Panthers have experienced an unforgettable regular season where they flirted with perfection and that was amazing; but now it's put up or shut up time for all the playoff teams in the quest for reaching the ultimate glory hoisting the Lombardi trophy! Here are my five keys for the Panthers to fulfill the dream they work so hard to
In the late 1960s, the party members became involved in series of violent confrontations with the police and in a series of court cases. Some even resulted with shoot-outs which resulted with deaths from both sides. The most notably trial was of Huey Newton being accused of killing a policemen in 1967. It resulted in three mistrials by 1971. Also in 1971, thirteen Panthers were accused of conspiring to bomb public places in New York.
ast night, the Atlanta Hawks played their first summer league game of the year, as they took on the Denver Nuggets. The Hawks lost 86-71, however fans got to see some of the players for the first time.
