The “Outsiders” movie and novel are very different and similar. The book and the movie have some similarities. After really comparing the two there was a lot of differences. The novel and the movie share many similarities. The book and the novel share the same problems. A example johnny and pony run away since johnny killed bob.In both johnny gets injured badly and dies. Then Dally ends up getting himself killed because of that. They both have a lot differences too. One difference is where they lived they lived. In the movie they lived on the north and south side while in the book they lived in the east and west. The two sides are divided by their wealth. The Greasers get the east, while the Socs get the west. The east and the west are symbols
So many events have taken place in The Outsiders and some haven’t throughout both the book and the movie. So many themes have also connected the book and the movie as well. In the novel, The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, has many similarities, differences, and recurring themes that connects to the movie as well.
The book and the movie of the Outsiders are two very different stories. The book has so much more detail then the movie. The movie is not the most detailed but it does get its point across. There are may similarities and also many differences between the two the book is by far more interesting and more detailed then the movie. I enjoyed the book a lot and the movies a lot but the movie was missing a lot.
A comparison between both mediums for The Outsiders can be made by showing both of their advantages and disadvantages to show that one of them is better than the other.
In english are class read a book called The Outsiders, then we watched the movie and did wrote about what was different, these are a couple of the differences i found out. Darry Ponyboy's brother in the book and movie seems a whole lot meaner to Pony in the book. Early in the book Ponyboy gives descriptions about all of his friends and his two brothers, but in the movie their hairstyles are different. In the book and movie Ponyboy and his two friend Two Bit and Johnny go to a movie and in the book they were in an inside theater but the movie shows they were outside. Ponyboy had also said in the book there was no one there besides them and two other girls but there were a couple others there too. Johnny Ponyboy's friend is shorter than him in the movie but in the book Pony said he was the shortest.
The book and the film were both simular, and yet different in many ways. An example would be, in the film, Ponyboy was walking to the drive-in and meeting Cherri and Marcia. Although in the book, Ponyboy began his journey by telling the readers about his experience about being jumped by the Socs and being threatened. The director probably had some options to pick from to leave out from the movie, and the director chosed this to leave out. Leaving out the part where Ponyboy was jumped was an effective move because without the experience Ponyboy was lost and helpless because he did not know what to do when he and Johnny got cornered in the park by Bob and other Socs.
Foremost, it is very recognizable that the overall flow of the story is same, but most of the plot events are not the same. Though, there were same events happening in both novel and the movie. For example, in both
Differences (stick with at least four)- Ponyboy has a good relationship with sodapop and gets along better with darry but still has a very good relationship with his brother. In the beginning of the book, Pony gets jumped by some Socs, but he doesn’t get cut with a knife. In the movie, they cut him. In the movie when ponyboy is talking to cherry he says how the sun on the south side and she says”good how bout the north.” In the book it's written west and east. Also in the movie johnny never got his first beating from the soc in the book he does. In the book it gave more detail and information in the movie it starts like in mid way of the book.
The Outsiders book is different from the movie by how it starts, parts of storyline, and the reason behind the book. In The Outsiders book started with Ponyboy Curtis walking out of a movie house.(Hinton 1) Later, he gets jumped by socs (Hinton 5). When he gets jumped it is important to the book because it gives Ponyboy an even bigger reason to not like socs on a further personal level. When Ponyboy and Johnny rescue the five children from the burning church it
In the book “The Outsiders” there is more detail and the plot seems to go at a slower pace than the movie. The greasers are from the west side of town while
The Outsiders is a book that was published in 1967 and the movie was released in 1983. The Outsiders has two main “groups” of people in the story, Outsiders and Socs. Socs are the rich kids with fancy mustangs and Greasers are the “hood” type that have each other's backs. In this adventure a kid named Ponyboy gets himself into a huge mess when his friend Johnny took things way too far by killing a Soc. I think that the book is better than the movie because the book gives better detail and descriptions, you can feel and understand emotion, and you can experience character growth.
In the novel and movie The Outsiders there are many differences in events that are present in
I like the Outsiders in the form of a book better than in the form of a movie because, the movie wasn’t as descriptive as the written form was. The book form had was also much more thrilling, and interesting. The Movie was missing many key points that could have made it better.
The Outsiders is a book that has been read by many people. Most of the people have enjoyed the book, but not the movie or vise versa. The Outsiders was very good and had a great story behind it. The reasons why the book is better than the movie are the book gives more detail, people can let their imagination go wild, and the movie leaves out key elements that the book has.
There are other significant similarities between the movie and the book, so if I overlooked or forgot any extremely crucial points, forgive me.
The actor choices from the film compare to what the book envisioned, but also contrast. The character of Daisy is not similar in the film to what the book
