The Star Wars Trilogy The First of the three part series, Star Wars, is the tale of a band of heros who team together for the good of the universe and the money. The story begins as Princess Leia is held hostage by the Galactic empire in order to crush the rebellion against them. During the attack on Leia's ship two droids, R2-D2 and C-P30, escape through an escape pod. They landed on a foreign planet and were captured and sold to their new master Luke Skywalker. The Empire chases the droids because they have a secret map detailing the whereabouts of the rebel base. As the empire searches for the map they destroy Luke's home. The heros flee to the rebel base to warn them and a last ditch attempt to destroy the Death Star is made. Luke is chased by Vader and Solo comes to the rescue. Luke destroys the Death star and wins. The Second movie, The Empire Strikes Back, sees the return of all the characters from the previous movie. The rebel base is now on an ice planet. The Empire again attacks and the rebels flee. Leia, Solo, Chewie and the Droids find them selves stranded in the Falcon from the others and Luke heads out to find Yoda, Bens Master, and learn the force. The Falcon lands in a mining colony run by Lando Calrision. There they are caught by the Empire in an Attempt to catch Luke and turn him to the Dark Side. Luke has found Yoda and has a vision that his friends are in danger. He goes to save them against Yoda's warning and not knowing of the trap. Solo is frozen and sent to Jabba the hut who he owes money. The others escape. Luke and Vader fight. Vader frustrated that Luke won't change cuts off his arm and jumps out to the waste shoot. There he hangs on to his life as he waits for the others to rescue him. While heading back to the rebel fleet Vader telepathically contacts Luke And tells him he is his Father. The Force Awakens is the newest episode of Star Wars that has been released in theatres, and takes place many years after the fall of the Galactic Empire. The Resistance, the new Rebel Alliance, now faces a new threat, the First Order. In the hopes of defeating this threat, they look to Luke Skywalker, who’s whereabouts are unknown. Rey, the capable and independent protagonist, rescues a BB-8 unit and discovers it holds the missing piece of the map that leads to Luke. Together, along with Finn, Han Solo, and Chewbacca, they must find a way to deliver the piece of the map to The Resistance and stop the First Order’s plans of annihilation.
Episode IV was set during a time of war between the Rebellion, the good side, and the Empire, which is considered the evil side. The science fiction story is about a young man, Luke Skywalker, who travels into space to fight against the Empire. Luke is from the planet Tatooine, a desert, where he farms water with his uncle. Luke’s uncle buys two droids, R2D2 and C3PO, who happen to have been involved in the war and worked for the rebellion. Luke discovers a recording in one of the droids of Princess Leia saying she needed help, and that sparks the beginning of his journey. He meets Ben, also known as Obi-Wan Kenobi, who becomes his mentor, and teaches him how to use “the force”. In Star Wars, “the force” is a magical way for people to control things using their unconscious minds. Luke sets out on a journey into space to rescue the princess and join the Rebellion in the war effort. Luke and Obi-Wan meet Han solo, a pilot, and ask him to take them into space. They plan to go to Alderaan, Princess Leia’s home planet; however, they are unintentionally sucked into the Death Star, the spacecraft and weapon of the Empire. They find out that Princess Leia is being held in the Death Star, and they plan to help her escape. While Han and Luke try to help Leia, Obi-Wan is fighting Darth Vader, the evil leader of the Empire. Unfortunately, Obi-Wan is killed by Darth Vader; although, Luke, Han and Leia escape the Death Star. They go to a Rebellion headquarter and find the weak spot of the Death Star.
The Death Star battle, or Battle of Yavin, is a climatic scene where the (first) Death Star, a giant moon shaped space station and weapon with abilities to destroy planets with its super laser, is destroyed by the Rebellion. This is actually Luke Skywalker’s first step to becoming a Jedi by showing his leadership skills and his skill potential.

As many know, these two men are the leading antagonist and protagonist of the immensely popular franchise, Star Wars. For those that do not know, Darth Vader is the villain who leads a heinous army known as The Empire. Through methods of fear and intimidation, Vader fabricates a mega-weapon capable of destroying entire planets known as the Death Star. Luke Skywalker defies all odds as he uses the methods of stimulation and team building to try to lead the Rebels in an uprising against the tyrants. The entire plot of Return of the Jedi is the conclusion of a story of a young man and his friends trying to find their way in a battle between good and evil. Throughout the film, the characters each have their own, unique, inner struggle while all fighting in the same galactic battle. While the theme of darkness versus light is strong, there are also hints of other themes, such as power, corruption, love and sacrifice. All of these components are set in front of the backdrop of a nonstop battle between the freedom seeking Rebels and the evil Galactic Empire.

Set approximately 10 years after The Phantom Menace, this installment in the beloved saga sees Obi-Wan Kenobi (Ewan McGregor) and his Padawan Anakin Skywalker (newcomer Hayden Christensen) act as bodyguards to Padmé Amidala (Natalie Portman) who now serves as the senator from Naboo. Obi-Wan spends the majority of the film tracking down Amidala’s would-be assassin, discovering a secret clone army for the Jedi in the process. Anakin, on the other hand, begins to fall in love with Padmé and takes the first noticeable steps to becoming Darth Vader.
He races home to find his family dead and nothing left but becoming a jedi (A New Hope Scene-by-scene. Web. 2010). In an effort to get to the Princesses planet they go to the Cantina, a bar filled with scam artist, where the find Han Solo and his co-pilot Chewbacca. Once they’ve settled on a payment their journey begins. What Obi-Wan and Luke don’t know is that in an effort to get Leia to talk Darth threatens and then follow through with blowing up her home planet.(Web. SparkNotes.com. Star Wars Episodes iv-vi. 2014) Eventually Han’s ship is pulled up by Darth’s and then they are forced to fight their way out. Obi-Wan encounters and allows Darth to defeat him, meanwhile Leia is rescued by Han, Luke, and the others. Without Obi-Wan but the rescue of the Princess the only thing left to do is defeat Darth’s ship, the Death Star. Against all odds and the discovery of the force Luke blows it up and is later awarded for heroic nature, as is Han and Chewbacca, ending the first of the epic series.
The central character appearing in all six movies in the Star Wars saga is Darth Vader, who is formerly known as Anakin Skywalker. He is the protagonist in the prequel trilogy, but one of the main antagonists in the original trilogy. The films tell the story of Anakin Skywalker as a Jedi knight who turns to the dark side of the Force. Darth Vader is the father of Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia. He later sacrifices himself to save his son, Luke.
