For my life the thing that I value is my family and friends, exercising and participating in sports, and finally going to and getting an education. I chose these specific topics because I feel like these are incredibly important to almost everyone in the world. Each of the values have a enormous amount of appreciation because first of all, people need all three, family, exercise, and education. I have never felt so close to my family before, because they have been preparing me to be able to leave and somehow manage to stay a float when it was time to grow up. Just because your family is getting you ready for real life and trying to see how independent you can be, doesn’t mean they are not still going to help you with any questions you have. Exercising arguably the …show more content…
In the recent year, I was looking at different options at my future, so i was trying out a wide variety of things. One of those things was joining the US Marine Corp, I have an incredible amount of respect and honor for every military branch and i wanted to see how they do things as Marines. I got a hold of one of the recruiters and he requested that i come to their physical training sessions, and i was a little nervous but very excited. I will say i have never felt so dead in my life, it was action packed with workouts and other various forms of exercise like running 2 miles straight, lifting a giant lodge, doing 20 pull ups, and finally 50 reps of lifting ammo crates that weigh about 20-30 pounds. All that packed in 2 hours, which is insane, I frequently look back on the day and say, “Wow I can probably do it again.” I may have complained about it at first, but looking back on that day i am full of joy knowing that I was able to endure that amount of stress on my body without giving
The thing I value most in my life is my independence. I love being able to not have to depend on others to make my way through life. As the first born child, I have had to deal with my parents helicopter parenting me, trying to do everything for me. As I got older I had realized that I did not like my parents doing everything for me, it made me feel powerless to be able
I love working hard give out the best of me.Commuting will for me is always great because I get to meet new people to help out or they can help me. Helping others makes me proud because it's a nice way to show how will I am educated by both of my parents.Values for me is being responsible because being the oldest it ain't easy at it look you have to be in charge of the younger sibling and being responsible for my parents too.Honesty is a big value for me because I don't like liars lying doesn't take people to anywhere good it could take them lie after lie which can hurt other people that have no fault for the situation. My belief for this is when I have support by my love ones it's so much easier to get what I want because I have people being proud of who I am and what's going to come for me and them being their wont make me give
Couple Months go by and I finally complete high school graduation June third. After that I am now applying for the marines in the summertime. I make it into the marines. After four years of the marine I am done with physical training. But Initially, I was one of the those who had to do sprints after physical training because I would fall out of the line after mile two of the morning runs. So, of course when I finally shed about tens of thousand of pounds, I gain twenty more in muscle. Now I don’t never fall out of a
My values are very important to me, and family and friends are very important. Without them, we would not
Reading all of the article’s that we had read in class I had realized that everyone has a different value on life. Hamlet couldn’t care less about what happened in his life he just wanted to be gone, the victims families of 9/11 had thought that their loved ones lives were worth more than what the government had calculated, Ebert only cared about making himself and others happy, and Spiegelman had included many presentations on the values of life in his graphic novel. All of the values in life vary- from person to person. Part of your life is struggling through the bad stuff to get to the good stuff. Something to value most in life is when people cherish life no matter what’s thrown their way. Throughout all of these articles that isn’t the
The purpose of this paper is to identify my personal values in order to determine how my values align with the values of KFF and how this alignment would affect my performance as a manager at KFF.
The Competing Values Competency Questionnaire is a tool to help you assess your development as a managerial leader with respect to the four quadrants of the competing values framework.*
In life, I have many things that I truly valuable. Going to a Catholic grade school and high school is very important. I have learned the benefits of being disciplined and forced to do homework or there is a consequence. These types of things will really help me be ready for college because although I should do the assignments in college I have the choice not too. Another thing that I live by is always " be humble and kind" and treat others how you want to be treated. The smallest things can mean more than you know to someone. For example, smiling and saying hello to someone can transform there day into a better one.
It’s hard to pick out which value is the most important, but I’ll go with security. I don’t mean the kind where you lock down your house and have a safe full of guns and an advanced security system with killer dogs roaming around. I refer to the security in life I can afford for my family by having a steady job, a nice house, food in the refrigerator, and never having to worry about having the basic necessities for living. Happiness and humor go hand in hand, of course. I’m at a stage in my life where I just want to be less stressed. My family, especially my 2 year old daughter, brings me a lot of joy. It makes me happy to see my little girl running around carefree and healthy, and I am particularly happy that I was able to grant my full 9/11 GI Bill to her. My final important value is communication. I like to know what’s going on, and I like to ensure those around me (whether it’s my family or my coworkers) are informed about various situations as they come up. Having the open lines of communication ensures that I am also kept informed of new developments. I like to be
My strongest personal value came from my mother, her family and Dutch culture. This is the value of family. I highly value spending time with family and I hold family above all else. I am privileged to have a loving family and to have the majority of my family live within 50 miles of me. Even though my husband lives across the country, I am privileged to be able to see him multiple times a year. My values give me a bias of wanting families to stay together and to work together.
Your values make up the backbone of your life. From the moment you are born to your last breath, you carry these values, although some of them may have changed over time. Values are “what is important to us, what we ‘value’, and what gives us purpose” (Loehr). Some values are held by a large portion of society but a substantial amount of other factors may vary.
Personally, life holds value to me because of the sport of running, my family, and learning.
Values in Pindar Pindar was composing his poetry at the start of the fifth century B.C. at a similar time to Aeschylus, and as much as three centuries after the completion of Homer's works. The values he displays, however, do not seem to have developed since the time of Homer; Pindar's ethics are those of a shame-culture, and in this way thoroughly Homeric. They are aristocratic, favouring the strong, powerful ruler over the weak and dominated. Wealth and prosperity are praised, not frowned upon. Nietzsche approved of Pindar's praise of the strong, be they tyrants or athletes (or indeed both), and conversely disapproved of the way Socrates later denied the good to be had in strength and power.
There are a lot of things I value in life. My religion is the most important of all for me. I might not go to church every Sunday, or abide by all the Bible rules but I pray and believe in the almighty God. I get happiness and hope from my religion and I feel like those two are what everyone wants in their life. The second important thing that I value in my life is my family. My family gives me courage, strength, hope, and a lots of support. I wouldn't be the person I am today with-out them. They teach me and encourage me to be a better person. They give me good advice and help me when I make a mistake. Third on my value list is education. Education helps me improve the way I look at the world. It gives me a different perspective. Education helps me to achieve what I want to be in life. The fourth thing that I value the most is my profession. I am studying to become a forensic scientist. My profession gives me a reason to wake up every day and have something to look forward too. It helps me to make my dreams come true and make a difference in the world. This field is interesting and also makes me think about my morals and ethics every day.
Another value that is very important to me is my family. My family plays a big role in my life, since they have taught me all my cultural values, such as respect for elderly. When I tell funny and embarrassing childhood stories about myself, I usually share these with family members or with really
