Question

Describe the basic factors in diffusion and passive transport
systems.

Expert Solution
Step 1

All the cells have a membrane surrounding their organelles which allow support, protection and shape. This membrane is called plasma membrane or cell membrane.

The plasma membrane is semi-permeable which regulates the entry of only selective molecules to obtain nutrients, eliminate wastes, and maintain a stable interior environment different from that of the surroundings(homeostasis). The transport of molecules across the cell membrane can be done by passive transport or active transport.
