Control of infection is necessary to restrict the infection in the diseased only so as to eliminate the chances of others getting infected and the disease affecting a large sum of the population. Despite recommendations, outbreaks and patient notifications resulting from healthcare personnel failing to adhere to Standard Precautions and basic infection control practices continue to be reported. Hence, nurses must be very careful to cause no possible spread of infection while handling patients.
