"VHA--the largest of the three administrations that comprise V.A.--continues to meet Veterans' changing medical, surgical and quality-of-life needs. New programs provide treatment for traumatic brain injuries, post-traumatic stress, suicide prevention, women Veterans, and more. V.A. has opened outpatient clinics, and established telemedicine and other services to accommodate a diverse Veteran population, and continues to cultivate ongoing medical research and innovation to improve the lives of America's patriots." (Affairs., 2005) The U.S. Department of the veteran affair is federal and provides healthcare services to eligible military veterans. Many factors can contribute to the ability to access healthcare services in the V.A., and we must look into details and research the issues that are happening to know the reason for suicides in Veterans. The scope of the matter is that many veterans are unable or have difficulty accessing care. This issue's significance is that many veterans are not receiving care for their mental health issues and are committing suicide. Many veterans live in rural areas where makes it much harder to get services, can this one of the factors? What I want to learn more about is the difficulty that veterans have in obtaining assistance from the V.A., the reason why they don't receive services. Can the problem of access to mental medical services in veterans with V.A. have anything to do with the suicide rates in veterans? The dependent variable is studying this research because it depends on other factors; with bean said, many factors can be contributing to the access of care. In veterans and the rates of suicides. "In 2018, 541 service members across the military's active and reserve components died by suicide, and one in five adults have experienced a mental illness." (Affairs, 2019) Numerous Veterans mental health conditions or substance use problems, at times irritated by their military help, which builds their danger of self-destruction.
