WW.YORKVILLEU.CA Role Play –
Individual (4x5%) Students will have to click on the link on Moodle and then navigate to MH Connect to access the Role Play under each unit. Short Description Role-Playing Application-Based Activities The Role-Playing Application-Based Activities (ABAs) compel students to think critically to solve real-world problems and apply the skills needed in the Principles of Marketing course. These often involve multiple decision-making paths, like a "Choose Your Own Adventure" that allows students to see the impact of their decisions immediately. Each Role-Playing ABA focuses on one topic and is intended to take approximately 15-20 minutes to complete. There are objective questions with correct and incorrect answers, and there are also branching questions that allow students to select optimal, suboptimal, and incorrect responses. A student’s particular path in the activity will depend on the decisions the student made on the branching questions. Introduction video of the Role Play Application-Based Activities -
https://www.viddler.com/embed/95532e1b Objectives
Students will develop critical thinking skills as the role play requires them to think on their feet and make decisions based on the provided information.
Students will analyze and synthesize information provided in the role play case.
Students will build confidence in their abilities as role plays can be a challenging activity, but successfully completing will make them feel accomplished.
Students will provide recommendations in response to role play questions that are based on a comprehensive analysis of the provided case materials and other supporting documents. Requirements and Submission Instructions
1 attempt will be allowed for each role play activity. (5%) SCORING AND EVALUATION
Students playing the role play will not be able to go back and change their answers once submitted.
During gameplay, students can see their current score during the activity by clicking the “Score” button in the upper right corner. See screenshot below.
Students will receive the maximum number of points for each optimal response, fewer points for suboptimal responses, and no points for incorrect responses. After each response or decision point, a pop-up appears showing students how many points they have earned.
After each response to a question, students will receive feedback. Factual questions will include “correct” or “incorrect” along with more detailed f
eedback. Although there are more optimal answers to concept-
based and branching questions, these questions will not state “correct” or “incorrect” explicitly but will instead provide conversational feedback.
Near the end, the activity will explain why the choices students made were the most optimal or if a different option would have been a better choice.
Once the activity has been submitted, students will see their overall score and their scores for each learning objective.
For most activities, the three score ranges for the overall and categorical scores are as follows: o
0%
–
64% (Red Range) o
65%
–
85% (Yellow Range) o
86%

FAO-Funded Aquaponics Project Launched In Barbados Barbados GIS – The United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has collaborated with the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy, and local business Adams Aquafarms, on a project to train persons in aquaponics. Aquaponics is a sustainable way of integrating land-based fish farming with plant production. Both are placed in a tank, and the set up allows for them to coexist, with the waste produced by the fish fertilizing the plants, while the plants purify the water for the fish. The training, funded by the FAO, will take place at a demonstration facility, located at Adams Aquafarms, Hopewell, St. Thomas. The FAO is currently targeting 30 entrepreneurs and 10 teachers. How to respond to this in 100 words?Across the world, organizations are completing their goals and objectives through the various functions performed by their employees (Sencherey et al., 2022). Plant Manager, Henry Simms, recognizes the importance of the role all employees played in the success of a major project and deems rewarding them necessary. This is a noble gesture but should be approached with a few considerations in mind. One consideration is rewarding all employees alike implies ignoring factors such as seniority, job responsibilities, and employment status. It will be vital to clearly communicate how the reward was determined and how it will be distributed. Henry must also consider if a collective bargaining agreement is in place. This is a contractual agreement between an employer and a labor union that governs wages, hours, and working conditions for employees (Tyrkus & Schwartz, 2022). If this reward is not within the guidelines of the agreement, negotiation with the…
