In Chapter 7 of our What Is Psychology textbook, we learned about the importance, details and strategies of memory techniques. One type of memory is Short Term, which only last up to thirty seconds before forgetting. Whenever has to remember a number or a name, they often repeat the information multiple times so that the Short Term Memory can transition into Long Term Memory. In order for this transition to occur, the information must be constantly repeated, or important enough to be held in the permanent memory, which helps create a “folder” with all retaining information and reminiscing. Another way short term can become long term is using a method called Chunking, this breaks the bigger pictures into smaller ones for the brain to remember,

AP Psychology was my very First AP class. I am very thrilled that my first class was Mrs.Shelnutt. She is a terrific teacher. During the beginning I struggled with keeping up with the work and studying. The number one thing that you need to do for this class is read the book. Throughout the semester this was my one flaw that I couldn’t do consistently but the times I did I got a good grade on the test. Another important thing is the interactive notebook. Throughout the course you have to fill out a notebook with vocabulary from each of the chapters. This is an important study tool for when it comes time to study for the test and all the comps. When Mrs.shelnutt goes through the power point for the chapter you are learning it is smart to print

I would go to AP Psychology even if I did not have to because the class itself taught me more than psychology, it taught me more than just psychology. The class helped me understand myself better. At the time, I was recovering from a difficult transition, I had just lost my grandpa and the year before I lost aunt. Psychology helped me understand what my family was going through during the grieving period and allowed me to connect with them better because I did not understand how to react whenever my aunt or grandpa was brought up, instead I would casually shrug off the subject. However after taking the class, it opened my eyes to a whole new perspective. I did not see a grieving cousin, instead I saw a depressed cousin that was in dire need
It’s amazing how many things we take for granted. We make plans daily thinking as humans we have no expiry date, that we’ll live for infinity and beyond or at least till we’re 100 but our destiny could say otherwise.

Introduction to Psychology While reading chapter one of my psychology book, I have learned that Psychology is the scientific study of behavior and mental processes. Psychologist has to take a various steps to fully understand a person’s problem or situation. For example, if a psychologists wants to know why males does a particular thing differently from a female, the psychologist will have to first research the problem or situation, secondly he or she will have to collect and analyze data, then draw a conclusion and lastly the psychologist will have to communicate the results. Psychologists are able to tell or predict a person’s next move just by understanding how a person thinks. Psychologist will not be able to effectively do his or her
When I started this class this pass September I had a little knowledge of psychology. In my junior year of high school I took Psychology as an elective class. I really enjoy it alot, it amaze me how much there was to know about our brains. This September I came with the feeling that this psychology class was going to be way different from my psychology class from high school. And that my knowledge from my class before wasn’t going to be useful at all. But I was wrong, this class has actually been better than my other class. Because it has help dust off some of the concepted that I had learn before. But it has also made gain more knowledge about psychology that I didn’t knew before. For example the next concepts are the ones that had impacted me the most: critical thinking and the eight essential, implicit learning, short term and long term memories. I chose these concept because they have not only taught me more about psychology, but they have made a big impact on me.
The assignment prompt gives the impression that the student has a considerable amount of freedom in choosing the subject of their paper and also how to organize as long as they satisfy the requirements laid out in the prompt. The requirement of a 10-15 page paper implies that good writing in the psychology field (or the other social sciences) cannot just be simple statements but rather more in depth and nuanced analysis. The prompt also asks for hypotheses to be laid out in the paper, which function as the thesis. It also calls for datasets to be used, which means that a good psychology writing will have quantitative data that will be analyzed throughout the paper. The prompt also specifically notes that the APA style of citation should be used, and good writing in any social science subject should follow the commonly used method of referencing in that field or what the class or professor require.
