Ancient civilizations and empires have captured the eye and attention of historians for hundreds of years. From the lost civilization of Alexandria to the ever-present myth of Atlantis (fact or fiction?), history that has grown has caught the eye of many. Particularly, Ancient Egypt seems as rich in history and secrets as Greece or Rome. Egypt and modern day America don’t hold as many similarities as one might think, but they seem entangled together regardless of differences.

Egypt is still a nation of wonder, history, enchantment, and lost human ingenuity. Many aspects of Egypt remain a mystery, but slowly some secrets are coming to light. Going through history to its foundations and remnants, there is much to be learned and understood. Though the boundary lines of Egypt are quite large, the vast majority of its citizens live compacted along the Nile River. Egypt is most renowned for its life flowing river, its Pyramids, Pharaohs, and its distinct religious worship. Looking underneath the majestic artwork, and the thriving life, is another aspect of Egypt where one discovers the struggles of its past. For more than 2000 years, egypt was one of the richest and most civilized lands in the ancient world. Much of what we know about this great civilization has been learned from its art and architecture. In particular, the ruins of tombs and temples have provided a valuable record of Egyptian life.

Tourism is mainly from Egypt being famous for ancient monuments like Pyramids and the Sphinx. There are four main pyramids. These are the Pyramid of Khafre, the Great Pyramid of Giza, the Pyramid of Djoser and the Sphinx. The Pyramid of Djoser is considered the oldest pyramid from ancient Egypt; it was built for pharaoh Djoser.

Another reason why the arab spring occurred was because of unemployment. Due to the significant rise in population over the years, and government’s inability to create jobs, many grew frustrated and poor as a result of these conditions. The middle east has also had a very unstable political groups constantly taking over power. From religious extremists groups to leftists groups. Because of the common land that all endured political instability, many revolutionists from all over the Middle East were able to unite on certain common ideology and citations. Needles to say, the unemployment that overwhelmed the middle east was able to unite upset civilians all over the arab world which is why the Arab Spring was as great as it was.

The realm of ancient Egypt has been a world of mystery and excitement for almost 800 years. Because of these barricades, countries such as the United States and England have been keeping a close eye, especially since they cannot export and import products between countries. Perhaps the Middle East would’ve been better off without the Arab Spring.

Egypt is a great country to visit as well as obtain knowledge upon. Egyptians are very friendly and helpful so a tourist would not have to worry about being treated unfairly. They pride themselves on family values and traditions always looking out for and helping one another. In so many ways their culture is not that much different from that of the United States.
