Lack of leadership has proven to be one of the leading causes of companies not meeting their targets, and that's where Welch's four principles of establishing Mission and Values, applying Candor, implementing Differentiation, hearing the Voice of the team and rewarding accordingly have become very useful in building a strong leadership foundation. In my recent work assignment, I didn't feel I had many good examples to follow. Therefore, to delve into options of how to affect my teams' culture and support, my company's goal has led me to understand the difference between managing and leading. In this paper, I will review my leadership attributes, including any weaknesses, and study the opportunities for improvements to building a platform for effective leadership.
Leadership Experiences
Looking back from when I began my career, I can say I came a long way learning the concepts of understanding the expectations that arose from all my positions. In my first job just after graduating, I was appointed as a Business Accountant of a multinational company. Since then, I was caught in the myth that people who were in leadership positions or high ranking were leaders. Being in a junior position, I could have the least effect on any new ideas as my voice seems to have landed in deaf ears. I have seen how those businesses were not in line with their Missions and Values only to find later that many of the staff had left the company.

What services do you offer? Will I have a formal written agreement or contract with you? What if I can 't afford to pay your fees or make contributions? In addition to helping me solve my immediate problem, will you help me develop a plan for avoiding problems in the future?
addition, the policy indirectly supports the families of the elderly. It does so by offering services to caregivers that prevent or shorten costly nursing home placements, relieving financial strain, and providing educational programs to give a better understanding of aging. However, due to insufficient funding OAA services have restricted access and cannot reach all the elderly in need. Statistical demographics reveal that 27% of seniors that are receiving services are below the poverty line, recipients are more likely to be female (71% vs 57%), twice as likely to be rural, more likely to live alone, have less income, less educated, and less healthy than the average senior (Herrera 2013).

Scenario: You are the Chief Executive Officer at a small non-profit community hospital. In January the area was hit by a large snow storm while you were vacationing in the Bahamas. Many of the hospital staff who provided patient care called out from work on the 3-11 and 11-7 shifts. Despite efforts from the nurse managers to get relief staff, only one nurse agreed to come in. As a result, the patient units were understaffed and health care personnel on day shift were required to remain on their assigned unit until they were relieved from duty. During the course of this occurrence several patients sustained minor injuries from falls out of bed and one
Since the beginning of recorded history, leadership has been one of, if not the most important elements in the success or failure of an endeavor. This is whether it involved a prehistoric hunting party or ruling the Roman Empire. Today, leadership is recognized as a vital factor in an organization’s quest to be productive and profitable. For an organization to be competitive and achieve optimum success in the 21st century, it is vital that they employ effective leaders that will be able to communicate their vision and goals, motivate their employees and develop trusting and loyal relationships with its stakeholders. There is no one or best way to accomplish this mission. There have been numerous leadership theories and styles which have been developed over time which can enable leaders to choose which method would be most effective for them in establishing collaborative working relationships and a respectful team environment in a group setting (Landis, Eric A; Hill, Deborah; Harvey, Maurice R, 2014).
Access to services such as a day centre can support the additional needs of an individual with multiple conditions and/or disabilities. We have a customer with very painful legs, they swell easily and she can only walk very small distances. At the day centre, she can participate in a Pilates class specifically for people in a wheelchair this is inclusive to her needs and enables her to participate in exercises suited specifically to her needs that will help to improve the physical strength in her legs. Similarly, we have a customer with MS, she attends daycentre on a weekly basis, because of attending daycentre she is currently on a waiting list to attend physiotherapy specifically for customers with MS.

Additional areas have also had tremendous and improved infrastructure support systems developed over the past four years. First, all lines of business have been upgraded to Office365, which allows for a consistent platform to develop, house and maintain sustainable systems, resources, and communication company-wide. Within Office365 individual departments now preserve an internal Sharepoint site, some open to all stakeholders and some limited to appropriate parties for confidentiality purposes (e.g., FERPA requirements…). Through the implementation of the individual Sharepoint sites, schools and K12 maintain open lines of communication, have a tool for ongoing collaboration and have created a library of resources to support our schools
How did the team ensure that all requirements were met (to the extent that they were)? Our team along with the Mechanical Engineer team met with Dr. Foster every Tuesday after Senior Design to make sure we were meeting all the requirements for the Passing Trainer.
Leadership is a very broad topic; I never knew just how many different traits and skills that it takes to become an effective leader. Some of which I was familiar with, and others that I was not aware of, but now from taking this course, they all seem to be necessary for the role of leadership. The attached paper, will explain of some of the important theories and concepts that I thought were most important to be able to become and effective leader.
Before taking the leadership class I viewed leaders and managers the same and I was thinking that only a few people at the top of an organization can lead. However I was wrong and today I view leadership as the challenge and responsibility of every individual with potential to make a difference. Today, I view leadership as a social influence. It is initiating and guiding and the result is change. Leadership is more art than science and more skill than knowledge (Manning, p.61).
ABC, Inc. (ABC) is a small to medium sized company that creates math tutorial videos and due to their popularity, is looking to expand into other subjects such as Science and Computing. ABC does business from an office building where one of the floors is setup with IT staff and equipment. The floor has a secured room that houses the servers. The servers run on Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems and they only hold one role each. There is a DC, Exchange, SQL, DHCP, DNS, a Web server that host an intranet and a Web server that is public facing. All of the servers are underutilized, and are not setup to restore services quickly if the system suffers a failure.
Effective leadership increases an organization’s ability to meet all challenges, including maintaining a competitive advantage, the need to foster ethical behavior, and the need to manage a diverse workforce fairly and equitably. Managers at all levels and in all kinds of organizations have their own personal leadership styles that determine not only how they lead their subordinates but also how they perform the other management tasks (Jones & George, 2009).
Over the past several years adults have become more adapt to a healthy and fit lifestyle. Society has become more demanding of nutritional facts and has forced fast food restaurants to be accountable for the food the food that they are offering the public. The interest from the public has become so wide spread that it has sparked the interest of film makers and has lead to two very popular documentaries: Food Inc and Supersize me. With all of the news stories and articles and social media that surround consumers now a days there is no secret that there is a correlation between eating Trans fats and gaining weight. The Canadian Restaurant and Food Services Association has asked us to find out whether or not people
The business will use Microsoft Azure technologies to organize information to make it more accessible for users and employees. Using Azure File storage the business will be able to utilize storage that will be organized into containers or folders based on content. With the new submission engine, the submissions will be organized into containers based on the content type which will be determined by tagging. We will have some predetermined tags available to the users to choose from that match our different storage containers. When submitters are uploading their work via the web gui, they can select the tags from the drop down menu that describe what their work is about. When that data is submitted, our developer’s application will sort the
