Executive Summary This proposal is about the Roaring Dragon Hotel (RDH). It has a detailed description about the problem and the causes faced by RDH during the change it needed to undergo which was imposed by the government in 2001. The responsibility to change RDH economic environment to market economy was given to HI management. However, the change process introduced by HI led to the further degradation of the establishment process. So, this proposal discuss the points which were misleaded by the management and which completely converted the profit making company to a loss making company.

In order to amplify its potential, the government gave contract to change RDH to Hotel International (HI), a reputed global management organization. The new management (HI) took over and started implement the changes to meet the international standards. But the employees could not go under the sudden changes because of their habit of traditional way of working and without having reasonable answers to their questions. This made them feels pressurized and moreover, the policies and procedures implemented were perceived as against the local …show more content…

Recognition of local cultural practices, gradual introduction of modern management principles, and clear communication of expectations results in high employee motivation, reduced attrition with the resultant organizational success. The HI management team needs to clearly communicate their expectations to the RDH staff while maintaining beneficial practices in local culture. In essence, forceful execution of modern management principles into a conservative organization is a detrimental practice that managers should avoid at any cost.
