Critical thinking is more of a complex thing and a guide to the ability to think clearly and simply recall information. I can state that three strategies that would incorporate into my daily life deal with your egocentrism I have as mind that I tend to deny what I have , use "wasted "time by evaluating my strengths and weakness , and redefine the way I see things by negative to positive and also to reshape things. Let’s say you're waiting in line at the bank and like always you need to get out quickly you spot an opportunity to skip someone and you take it you never paid any attention to their needs but who will be in a much hurry than you . This is one situation that egocentrism has an effect on me because I am unaware to see others point

My mind is almost always running and thinking about things. I am always choosing the worst outcome and working backwards for a game plan or how to solve the problem. I believe there is always an answer and I just have not found it yet. Ever since I was a manager, 20 years ago, I was taught to overcome adapt and solve the problem. This plays out in my personal life as well, with having 4 children and they have their problems and I want to help them solve them to. A technique still use is to draw a circle and put the things I can affect in the middle and the things I can’t on the outside. I would then tell myself to only worry about the things I can affect. In addition, I tell myself to not worry, make a plan and adjust it as needed, but then let it go.

What are the two conditions that must exist for a consumer to be influenced by a reference group? Have you ever made a purchase based on reference group influence? If so, what was the purchase and how did you come to the decision to make it? If not, why not?
Dixie: Amanda, I agree with you that in making personal decisions that I use critical thinking most of the time. It take me time to decide what I want and how the outcome will be. I found this activity helpful. I want to start eating healthier, but first, I had to ask myself a question. What factors contribute to my unhealthy diet? I identified the things I eat, circled the unhealthy foods and decided to cut them out my diet. My obstacles are sticking with the diet, so I identified my obstacles by narrowing the root of the problem. I researched some healthy eating plan to follow. I created possible solutions, and comments about my new diet, and I went grocery shopping for healthier foods.
Having those strong critical thinking skills is very vital to this career. Critical thinking means that you have to make decisions based upon treatments, symptoms and changes that occur in a child’s state of health (educationcareerarticles.com, pg.2). You have to know what specific type of care each patient needs so you can diagnose any problems that may happen. Having patience is another strong quality at the top of the list. Dealing with kids can give someone a lot of stress just because they are all over the place sometimes which is where your patience ability has to kick in. Kids who are really young have a lack of trepidation meaning they rarely understand what’s going on around them (educationcareerarticles.com, pg.2).
What I’ve learned from this class, is critical thinking strategies or tools, which I can use to assess my community needs through survey and data collecting. This class also taught me to remain unbiased when performing a needs/risk assessment within a community. It has taught me to appreciate my community for what it has to offer and that the people in the community, makes it culturally unique. The proper way to assess my own community’s strengths and weakness, is by utilizing demographic assessment, neighborhood/safety inventory, windshield survey, and population health scavenger hunt, which is the critical thinking strategies that the stimulation has taught me.
According to the critical thinking processes, I would like to improve the following four critical thinking habits and skills.
Chris had just been promoted as an Executive Assistant for Pat the CEO, Chief Executive Officer, of Faith Community Hospital. Faith Hospital is faced with issues that needed attention and the board of directors must be notified of the issues so that a solution can be remedy to help the hospital stay in business.
The first concept I learned when enhancing my critical thinking in inductive generalizations is the research design, which is an important concept when using scientific procedure. The order of the research design is first is starts with a question, which are the characteristics of interest concerning a target population (Diestler 2012). The second concept is the hypothesis a speculation about what will be discovered from a research study (Diestler 2012). The third concept would be the sample, which are members of the target population who are studied by a research (Diestler 2012). The fourth concept would be a control group, which is a group of subjects from the sample who get no treatment or a placebo and are thus a test benchmark (Diestler
My teachers didn’t promote critical thinking, maybe it was because they don’t really care they just want their cheek, and to move on with their lives. Don’t get me wrong I had some teachers that did teach with critical thinking in mind, and they were amazing. The school didn’t give them a big budget because we are a small roughly middle class school district so they had to pay out of pocket, or try to compete with a bigger better school for a grant. Common core is also an issue that effects how you can teach, and you can tech in your classroom. Common core people say that all kids should learn the same thing the same way as every other kids, and they set guideline a teacher must fallow. I think this is wrong I think kids learn in their own
Critical thinking can be taught through various strategies within the lesson or it can be taught explicitly as a standalone lesson. Teaching critical thinking to students as a standalone lesson is as popular as reading Shakespeare plays; it just doesn’t work, you don’t get the same outcome. Hence, I will focus on teaching critical thinking skills through different strategies. Current research shows that critical thinking helps students be more successful. Critical thinking helps students make better decisions in and outside of school, and it also helps them to properly analyze and evaluate information. Recently, the Common Core State Standards have emphasized that critical thinking is an interdisciplinary skill crucial for students’ educational success and decision making beyond school years. This is especially important in today’s society, where information is readily available via internet. Students must learn to properly identify faulty information. Stephen Norris, an educational researcher, states that if students have critical thinking skills they will be able to “partake rationally in the decision making of a democratic society, thus helping to sustain a democratic way of life” (p.22). Teaching critical thinking is a very difficult task, but by using effective strategies teachers will be able to help more students succeed academically and in life. Therefore, critical thinking needs to happen every day in the classroom. In order to effectively teach critical thinking,
To most people, thinking is simply just thinking. Often one does not break down their thought process, or worry if how they are thinking is appropriate, logical or beneficial; they are just thinking. All though simple thinking is better than not thinking at all, we all should become accustomed to critical thinking. As an upcoming student in the medical profession, the importance of critical thinking is essential. The medical field is full of mysteries and the unimaginable, so naturally, basic thinking will not be enough. After reading through this article, I believe that it can help develop critical thinking skills for people tremendously.
