The Mona Lisa
The Mona Lisa has to be one of my favorite paintings of all time and has lead me to use this specific painting as a topic for this paper. Not to mention the love I have for Leonardo da Vinci. I, myself have always been drawn to da Vinci’s paintings and all of his other achievements that he has given us during his life. I, like Leonardo da Vinci love art and science just as much as it seems he did. He shares a love of art and a fondness for science. It also seems that he loves a good mystery, and the Mona Lisa just happens to be one clouded in mystery. And I too love a good mystery.
The Mona Lisa is respectively one of the most famous paintings in the history, and was painted by one of the most infamous artist of all time Leonardo da Vinci. Leonardo has his own mysteries, because no one knows much about the man at all, aside from the basics. He was born on April 25, 1452 in Vinci, Italy. His father was a notary and his mother was a maiden, they were never married, Leonardo was their only child. However, his parents together had 17 other children. He was extremely intelligent and was a master at many skills, science, math, architecture, art and was among the first to dissect a human body. He began painting at the age of 14 as an apprentice for Andrea del Verrocchio. By the age of 20 Leonardo had outshined his teacher and Verrocchio knew that he could never be as good as da Vinci and he never painted again. Throughout da Vinci’s life he painted many, many
Well you want to know about Leonardo da vinci. Let’s talk about him. Leonardo da vinci was born April 15, 1452. He then died on May 2, 1519 at the age of 67. Leonardo da vinci was known for his art and science smartness. It was honestly insane how smart he was by the time he was 18. When he was 18 he was doing all kind of sorts of stuff that was almost impossible. When Leonardo da vinci was 5 years old he was taken from his mom. He had very very little education but when he was 14 he was interested in anatomy which is the study of the human body. He was studying bones and all that is in the body and how it functions. When he saw what the human body looked like he then drew very detailed drawing in his notebooks. When he would them though he would draw them backwards. With all of the objects that he had seen with exploring a lot he found objects to make different machines or vehicles. When he would draw in the notebooks he would draw so many things that it kind got overwhelming. When he would draw some of the drawing he got so many ideas he couldn’t remember some of them because there were so many. When he would draw in his notebook he would just draw those things he would also do his sculptings and his weapons of war. He was also the one who painted one of the most famous paintings. The mona lisa. Around 1495, Ludovico Sforza, then the Duke of Milan, commissioned to leonardo da Vinci to paint ‘the last supper’ on the back wall of the dining hall inside the building of
The Mona Lisa has been one of the most debated paintings of all time. The look on the face of the women in this painting leaves a person’s mind wondering. No one really seems to know what this mysterious woman is thinking or feeling. The questions that cannot seem to be answered are what make this painting so famous. The reason for that is because it is raveled in mystery and secrets. All of the small details make the painting stand out by being different from others and the details also make it far more remarkable as well. And surely, the smirk on the face of the Mona Lisa is the major key factor to the painting being so interesting. “Leonardo da Vinci was one of the
Da Vinci’ s the “Mona Lisa”(c.1519) holds Miss. Zirpolo’s statement to be true. When viewing the piece, one can see the exquisite line work and Foreshortening, to linear perspective. This art form shows his attention to detail and his passion for his work. The “Mona Lisa” (c.1519) is a small piece of artwork that became very popular. To this day the “Mona Lisa”(c.1519) still triumphs over Michelangelo’s “Creation Of Adam” (c.1511), which became a part of the “Sistine Chapel.”(C.1512) When one views “The Mona Lisa” they can see the dark color scale that is used, perhaps to depict an unhappy time. Da Vinci through out this piece is able to use an aerial perspective within the background of this portrait. Da Vinci was the first
Leonardo da Vinci was an Italian painter who lived from 1452 to 1519. Although generally known as a painter, Leonardo was also a superb inventor. He designed a rectangular parachute, crafted a silver lyre, and sketched rapid-firing cannons. Surprisingly, he recorded over five thousand pages of notes from many different topics including anatomy and flight. Because he took such a great interest in learning and experiments, Leonardo did not complete many paintings. Sadly, he completed less than twenty works. His most famous painting was the Mona Lisa. Toward the end of his life, Leonardo da Vinci later traveled to converse with French King Francis I, and da Vinci died there at the age of sixty-seven.
Leonardo took four years to complete the painting: he began work in 1503 and finishes in 1607. Mona (or Madonna Lisa Gherardini) was from a noble family in Naples, and Leonardo may have painted her on commission from her husband. Leonardo is said to entertain Mona Lisa with six musicians. He installs a musical fountain where the water plays on small glass spheres, and he gives Mona a puppy and a white Persian cat to play with. Leonardo does what he can to keep Mona smiling during the long hours she sits for him. But it is not only Mona's mysterious smile that has impressed anyone who has ever viewed the portrait: the background landscape is just as mysterious and beautiful. The portrait can be seen today in the Louvre Museum in
Leonardo da Vinci is most famous for his painting of the Mona Lisa and the Last Supper. He began to move away from the medieval period and instead focused his works on natural beauty while challenging the teachings of the Church through these new techniques. He was born in 1452 in Anchiano Italy and died
You can see that when viewing a painting like this there are many questions that arise in your mind. Looking at the Mona Lisa I get drawn in and a sense of wonderment comes over me. I start to imagine the person in the painting and what her smile was really about. A strong, confident women is what I think she was, and that was brought out beautifully by de Vinci. I also think that the way he painted the Mona Lisa shows a lot about what and how Leonardo viewed women. Many say that it was painted for the love of his mother. What do you

“While some may deem Leonardo da Vinci paintings tame in their total effect on our society’s modern sensibilities, his development of techniques that immersed the viewer in the world of the painting, and the impact of those techniques cannot be understated.”1
Da Vinci was born in Italy and, a true Italian patriot he was, he spent most of his lifetime there during which Da Vinci completed many commissions, e.g. the Sforza family who took Da Vinci into their service. His service for the Sforza family continued until Da Vinci returned to Florence when Milan proved to be unsafe. Returning to Florence, Leonardo created many master inventions, appreciated today by many historians and scientists. The famed Mona Lisa portrays a young woman, or in the words of Da Vinci “une donna vera” whose identity is now confirmed but is still theorised to this day. Such theories
While much of Brown’s writing is carefully combined into a well-written novel, readers can find a few contradictions within Brown’s logical sequence. These contradictory ideas can undermine the novel’s overlying theme and leave readers yearning to further research the validity and probability of the rest of Brown’s claims. One of the most significant themes in Brown’s novel is uncovering hidden meaning in works of art by the famous Leonardo Da Vinci. Brown uses three of Da Vinci's most well-known works of art - The Vitruvian Man, the Mona Lisa, and The Last Supper - as realistic pieces of evidence to ground the probability of his
Leonardo da Vinci is one of the most remarkable painters, sculptors, architects and brilliant philosophers of all time. He was born on April 15, 1452 near Vinci but the biggest part of his life he spent in Florence where he began drawing and after a certain period-painting. When Leonardo was fourteen he began working with Andrea del Verrocchio, who was one of the most recognized painters of his day. Da Vinci’s work soon
Leonardo Da vinci painted the “Mona Lisa” in 1503. The artist portrays a young woman, which acquires the concept of feminine youth and more essentially the concept of elegance. In relation to Agnolo firenzuola’s novel “On The Beauty Of Women” , the portrait attributes to major physical characteristics in which is considered to be genuine beauty by the modern man. Seeing the female portraiture of the italian renaissance, Firenzuola implies a specific interpretation by analyzing the modern woman. Through the famous paintings illustrated by Leonardo da Vinci, the Mona Lisa specifically supports the arguments and claims made by the poet’s correspondence to the beauty of women. Along with Da Vinci’s sticking features, the artist paints Firenzuola’s ideal beauty in comparability to the appearance of definitive grace. With his analyzations being extremely aesthetic, Firenzuolo activates criticizing aspects of the proportions of the figure, the placement of the figure’s position and the importance of the half length portrait of the feminine nature in relation to the portraiture of Mona Lisa.
