There are different leadership styles among managers, and cultures. Two leadership styles are transformational, and transactional. There are many ways leadership has developed, and evolved over time. Leaders in the twenty-first century have faced many challenges such as technological changes, multiple generations in the workforce, and more cultural differences. Fortunately there are solutions for these challenges for twenty-first leadership styles such as offering training to employees, informing employees about the different generations they are working with, and the different cultures in the company. Leadership is when a person motivates, inspires, encourages, and directs activates that will lead to reaching goals (Jones and George, 2013). Being a leader is an important role, one can be a leader at their job, and in their home life. As time progresses seeing women as leaders is becoming more popular. Entrepreneurial women are becoming direct and indirect leaders (Bullough,, Sully De Luque, Abdelzaher, & Heim 2015). With women being in more leadership position it is creating healthier home lives because women are earning their
Leadership can mean something different to everyone. To me leadership encompasses many things. Leadership is being able to motivate others to achieve. Leadership is listening to what others have to say and acting on it. Leadership is using interpersonal skills to communicate with others. Leadership is being a good example to others.
One of the beautiful things about leadership is that it is all encompassing and fluid. Leadership is defined as “the action of leading a group of people or an organization”, yet that definition doesn’t even come close to actually defining and describing what leadership can mean to a person. Leadership is a complex value, and it took a long time to grasp and apply it to my life. Through my experiences in high school and my church youth group I have come to realize that for me, leadership is the ability to inspire and positively impact the lives around me with quiet examples and actions.
A leader is a person who leads or commands a group, organization, or country. A leader is someone who helps others achieve something. Throughout my four years in high school, I have found myself in many leadership positions. This could range from being the leader of an extracurricular activity, an activity going on outside the school, or being a group leader in the classroom.
LEADERSHIP- THE POSITION OR FUNCTION OF A LEADER, A PERSON WHO GUIDES OR DIRECTS A GROUP.
According to Stephen, DeCenzo, and Coulter, leadership is the way an individual leads and influences a group to achieve certain goals (p. 337). When looking at being a leader, whether it is in a corporation or on a sports team, certain traits are associated with leadership. In addition, transactional, transformational, and/or charismatic leaders will each see a different outcome of the way they lead.
When it comes to contemporary leadership one size does not fit all. Contemporary leadership is a melting pot of theories, approaches, models, and styles that helps an individual lead a group or people or an organization. The trait theory is one example. It has its roots in leadership theory that suggested that certain people were born with special traits that made them great leaders (Northouse, 2013). Next is the skills approach which puts emphasis on the skills and competencies of the leader. Then there is the style approach which is strikingly different from the trait and skill approaches to leadership because the style approach focuses on what leaders do rather than who leaders are (Northouse, 2013). Leadership is defined as the ability to influence people toward the attainment of goals. Leadership is an incredibly crucial skill for managers and all employees in a work environment to understand in order to obtain the end goal of the company.
Leadership is a process by which a person influences the thoughts, attitudes, and behaviors of others. A leader sets a direction for the rest of the team. A leader guides their followers to visualize what can be achieved. He or she encourages and inspires their team. A leader helps and guides their members to accomplish their vision.
The leader is a group role that is associated with a high-status position and may be formally or informally recognized by group members. Leadership is a complex of beliefs, communication patterns, and behaviors that influence the functioning of a group and move a group toward the completion of its task.
What is Leadership? Leadership is the action of guiding others into the ideal direction. Leadership is not a quality given, it is something that you must learn and cherish to be able to experience it. There is no right or wrong definition of leadership; it all depends on the person’s vision of it. To display leadership, one must be unselfish and willing to help, they should be able to mentor, and one should be open-mindedness.
What is leadership? A leader is one who influences others to attain goals. The greater the number of followers correlates to the greater the influence. Additionally, the more successful the attainment of worthy goals, the more evident is the leadership. However, one must explore beyond this bare definition to capture the excitement and intrigue that devoted followers and students of leadership feel when they see a great leader in action. Therefore, employees should seek to understand what organizational leaders really do and to learn what it really takes to become a truly outstanding leader.
Leadership: the ability to inspire, influence, and motivate oneself and others interpersonally and energetically. Leaders inspire greatness within themselves and each person he/she engages – daily. Leadership is a way of life, a vector, a learned behavior to sharpen through challenges, opportunities, relationships, and experiences. Leadership is not a destination; it is a journey of self-mastery and self-actualization. The moment we stop learning, we have failed ourselves and those in our circle of influence.
Effective leadership is the functional component to a productive company and or business. New leadership approaches are needed to create effective and efficient global operations (Colfax, 2009). Successful managers need to replace the traditional styles of leadership, foster innovation, and create approaches that embrace the virtual and global changes that rapidly expand each day. This consists of leader’s shifting their normal techniques and rearranging them to the growing demands of the environment (Santos, 2009). Nonetheless, there is no one right way to lead; instead, different leadership styles lead to different outcomes (Zainal, 2011) Great leaders come in every race, gender and kind yet they all share similar characteristics of being strong well managed, and optimistisc.Most of all, they continuously find new ways to manage when opportunities arise. (Burrus –Barbey, 2000). The aim of this paper is to examine successful and unsuccessful leaders, and provide examples of effective leadership styles. Several companies will be researched to show how leader’s micro and macro managed their companies. The paper will conclude with recommendations on what managers can do to ultimately create the highest performance within their organization. Research will be based on the following, 1.) Different leadership styles that are used by managers across various countries, 2) societal trends and changes that have erupted over the years, 3) an analysis on local businesses today.

In order to achieve that set of objectives effortlessly, effectively, and efficiently, the most important and valued trait of a leader is an effective leadership styles. Effective leadership styles are required in every organization at every level to be successful. The success or failure of an organization depends on the quality of leadership particularly on the part of top management. An effective leadership style can be developed on the basis of understanding of the situations (Sethuraman, 2014). Top management should know which leadership style is needed based on the situation to be most effective to gain trust and respect from their employee. There is no single method of influencing the behavior of employees for every situation. The employee’s level of knowledge on the task and can determine which leadership style that will be most effective for the situation. Preparing leaders to lead
Leadership refers to the capability of the individual in order to lead the team or individual to achieve a success effectively and efficiently. According to John Katter leadership is about the initiative of change. According to Dwight D “ Leadership is the act of getting someone else to do something you want done because he wants to do it”. Leaders are those kind of individual who took the initiate and influence other to follow in order to work as a team so that they can reached to the final destination. Leader is the one who set direction, build an inspiring vision and develop idea to make change through group effort.
