“Education is the key to a greater society.” Education has become a necessity in our fast-paced globalizing society and is undoubtedly they key to a greater society. Therefore, in order to understand if better education leads to a better standard of living, we have to first note that a better standard of living means an improved condition of which people live by, indicated by factors such as increased literacy rates, mortality rates and –perhaps, a better education – referred to as better educational qualifications in the form of training, certification or knowledge. A better education has evidently paved the way for a greater working scope, opening the possibilities for greater job options and evidently, a higher pay. The ability for people to afford luxury good like cars and houses can be indeed attributed to the greater opportunity for a better education, thus showing that a better education has led to a better standard of living to some extent.
A better education does not only allow for the opportunity for a greater social standing such as better employment or a better financial standing but has also led to an increasingly competitive society which will not only help alleviate the standard of living on oneself but the whole society as well. In the United States of America (USA), the rise of better education has led to the US becoming one of the leaders in areas such as technology, leading the way in technological advancements. An example would be the likes of the technological giant, Apple. Apple has become the world’s leading technological giant with the invention of innovative technological devices such as the iPhone, iTouch, iPad and MacBook. The domination Apple has over its industry has led to the need for them to outsource over 80% of their products to low cost labour countries such as China and India; creating employment for those other
Education is closely tied to socioeconomic status, and effective education for children and lifelong learning for adults are key contributors to health and prosperity for individuals, and for the country. Education contributes to health and prosperity by equipping people with knowledge and skills for problem solving, and helps provide a sense of control and mastery over life circumstances. It increases
When students think of educational schooling, they think of grueling hours of sitting in a classroom and getting lectured about things they do not believe they will ever apply to the real life. Maybe it is just me. Not many students in the more richer and developed countries will ever realize how privileged they are. It is so easy to say that they do not like or want something even when it is presented to them. However, there are still places that are not given the opportunity to improve their lifestyles because they do not have an access to schooling. Access to education is a very important factor to bridge the gap between developed and underdeveloped countries. It is also the reason that humans have gotten this far in history. Without teaching
Education as a whole has been the key to the future and provides to the students with skill that they could not get anywhere. The new age has clearly shown us that education is a vital ingredient for a person’s future. Education has shown that one who studies further has a better lifestyle and will be highly respected, but what education cannot do is offer everyone the opportunity to succeed. Only a few students can take advantage of education; because if suddenly
Higher levels of education correspond to improved health, a longer lifespan, higher salary, reduction in crime, reduction in poverty, and lower unemployment rates.
The role of education in society has proven to service the people through the spreading of information, teaching of lessons and simply giving the gift of knowledge. With the gift of knowledge, we ultimately give the other the right and the ability, more importantly, to make their own informed choices. An educated mind can go beyond the limits set out by society and can make wise decisions regarding their health, success and general well being by simply using rationale. The level of education one obtains is directly related to the health of that individual, whereby it determines the person’s quality of life and life expectancy. Further more, one may be lead to believe that education is the most
In today’s world, young people think that if they continue their tertiary education, they can access a better job, no matter which subject they take. This situation indirectly causes a huge enrollment of students into universities and colleges, which may drop off the quality of education. As the author says, “quantity trumps quality” (pg. 168) which certify that the environment is skipped from education to jobs; meanwhile, the knowledge part is ignored by the students. In detail, they do not expect to learn something but just to get a degree which acts as “a passport to consideration for a job”. (pg. 164) This condition gradually turns credentialing into the norm. Everyone only cares about the degree that they will receive rather than concerning about what they will learn and develop through their subject’s material.
Education is the most vital part of man’s existence. The concept of education started in the ancient days and continues to the modern age. Education has existed before this current age, but modern education has been labeled as the most significant part of any possible profession. This assumption is not making waves in the United States of America only, but in the whole world wide. Despite the unique and distinct languages that exist throughout the world, young and developing minds still seek education and new knowledge as technology keeps changing. Education is the backbone and the platform in which we build and develop our own unique ideas that has become
Malcolm X once said “education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those who prepare for it today”. From adolescence to adulthood almost every person is put through schooling. As one gets older in age, the education they obtain becomes more rigorous in order to stretch their minds far beyond two plus two or what color the sky is. The strategies of critically thinking and being able to analyze/decipher information in front is them is reinforced routinely in the educational system. With this being said, the purpose of education is to aid in enhancing one’s qualification, socialisation, and subjectification skills within the society regardless of how or where one’s education was obtained.
Due to the (1) significance of education for each child on the planet, the (2) existing barriers to education around the world and the fact that (3) education is a lifelong learning process for everyone, this essay argues that it is essential to make sure that everyone in the world gets an education.
Education is today more critical than ever. College has become virtually a precondition for upward mobility. Men with only a high school diploma earn about a fifth less than they did 35 years ago. The gap between the earnings of students with a college degree and those without one is bigger than ever.
As our global economy flourishes, newer and faster technology is always on the brink of invention. So, to learn how to operate these new technologies, education is a must. Education teaches us not only how to add, subtract, write papers and finish science labs, but also how to interact in every day life. Education is a constant struggle in the U.S. Trying to keep teenagers from dropping out of high school, or teaching adults how to read. Schooling is one of the only ways the not so well off can get ahead in life. With out education, it is very hard to live in the U.S. successfully and safely.
Thereby affecting those who are capable and those with the advanced skills from attaining a more suitable education. This could potentially help fill in the jobs that are lacking skilled workers. It can also help America’s economy from further expanding. Nowadays, jobs are knowledge-based or require advanced technical skills. So the better educational opportunities students have, they will be more Eligible to join the workforce. Eventually the work forces will become successful and the economy of America will expand. When the cost for attending a college or university is expensive, a lot of students will prefer to take the easier and more affordable route. This means that they will choose not to pursue a higher education, leaving many ill- equipped and unsuitable to find good
the lowest levels of education have the highest rates of unemployment. So a stronger appliance of the educational system can steer society towards positive growth, centered around a successfully working unit that can produce better workers and create greater welfare. On the other hand, these workers will also create a more productive society that will eventually cause GDP per capita levels to increase, as well as economic expansion and the international status of the country in general. Education can very well create highly skilled workers, but that doesn’t eliminate the fact that the quantity of working positions
This connection is both quantitative and qualitative in that quality of life increasingly benefits from both the amount of education we receive and the quality of that education. To a great extent we define our quality of life based on economic status. Education has been very clearly shown to allow us access to employment, and to make us more informed consumers. Thus, an educated society is one that is capable of developing individuals who can both specialize, and who can make informed decisions about goods and services outside their area of specialization. This is a central need to both industries and citizens in a capitalist society.
Education can bring these individual talents to the surface. Having these talents developed by the way of the educational system, a person is more likely to become a productive member of society. Without these gifts and talents of individuals, answers in the medical, environmental, and social fields could remain mute and unexplored. Education has the responsibilities to bring out the best in each individual. The needs of society are continually changing. Therefore, education must also continue to change in order to productive responsible members of society.
