The first thing many people notice in individuals varies, but the first thing I notice is always their smile. This more than likely stems from my obsession with my own smile since as early on as I can remember. This obsession has become almost a hobby. I like to find out what is best for my teeth and others by trying many different tooth brushes, tooth pastes, mouth washes and so on to see which are best for whitening, sensitivity and cleaning in general. My love for healthy teeth has led me to desire to be a part of the dental hygiene field as my career. I believe that the best jobs are always the ones you love doing and I would love to be able to give others the beautiful smile they deserve, increasing their confidence and happiness …show more content…
However, the first step necessary for me to join the dental hygiene field is to become a part of a university. I am choosing to apply for Augusta University because I believe the education will help me succeed in following my dreams to be the best dental hygienist I am able to be. I also have done a large amount of research and over time found I want to further my education beyond the standard associates in dental hygiene program offered in my state. Based on my research, I have decided my objective is to not only to obtain a bachelors in dental hygiene but in the future to obtain a masters as well. I would love nothing more than to be able to spread the importance of dental care by teaching dental hygiene and expanding my education as much as
After more than five years of the completion the economic bachelor degree and uncompleted Master degree, now I am pursuing a totally new career, Dental Hygiene, even though I never thought about before. My life was driven around the social trends without thinking of what I really wanted. Now I have chances to pursue my aspirations; I have idea of doing something that I can help people, devolve my life to society. In my country, the science and technology is not modern enough to provide residents the best knowledge about the importance of oral hygiene. Those students like me can appropriate the most modern technologies to help our people. It is so amazing that Dental Hygienists can provide valuable services whereas building the trustworthy connections with patients. As a result, I chose dental hygiene as the foundation for my health profession since.
There is nothing glamorous about putting on scrubs everyday but it is beautiful to be an integral part of a patient taking an interest in their health. The oral cavity is intricately associated with the rest of the body and a fundamental, but often forgotten part of overall health. As a dental hygienist I have the opportunity to educate and help people improve or maintain their periodontal health. I would like to transfer because I have a huge desire to educate future registered dental hygienists and by continuing my education I will be equipping myself to be a stronger leader and mentor for students. Dental hygiene is my passion and my desire is to share my enthusiasm for dental hygiene with future generations of dental hygienists. The
Ever since I was in middle school, I would tell everyone that I was going to become a dentist. That was my career plan until the summer of my junior year. During that summer, I had the opportunity to do an internship and job shadow Dr. Bradshaw at his private dental office. While observing and talking to the doctor, I realized that I would not enjoy working as a dentist. I still wanted to pursue a career in the dental field so I decided to job shadow the dental hygienists. Watching the dental hygienists perform their duties and interact with patients made me want to pursue a career in dental hygiene. I knew very little about dental hygienists besides the fact that they clean teeth. As I spent time with the dental hygienists, I learned more each day. While researching for this paper, I became knowledgeable on even more information. From reading The Occupational Outlook Handbook and A Career as a Dental
I have always wanted to go to Texas A&M, but when I was little I always thought I would never make it, Then I actually started trying with my grades and academics to do better because I knew College would be sooner than later and I did not have time to waste if I wanted to succeed in life and I already knew what I wanted to be, a dental hygienist, but back then I did not think about cost or years of schooling I just knew that was what I wanted to be and where I wanted to go when I grew up. I want to be accepted into Texas A&M in College Station but only twenty five percent or less of your class can get accepted into A&M and there is also tons of towns in Texas and they also would most certainly go to Texas A&M University so even though they only take twenty five percent from your class they would not take all of that percent because others who are really smart would like to go to other colleges somewhere else, not everyone wants to go to A&M just because it is in
In spite of the fact that many people within the dental industry are aware of the multiple routes one may take in terms of becoming a registered dental hygienist, I believe that earning a Bachelors of Science (BS) degree will allow me to better serve my community. Being able to confidently apply a vast amount of knowledge concerning the occupation of dental hygiene in its entirety will essentially make me better equipped to serve future patients on a daily basis. I have found that many people within health professions strive to achieve excellence when reflecting on their aspirations.
Surveys indicate that 50% of people say that someone’s smile is the first thing they notice. I personally have always been insecure about my teeth because of the gap in the middle. So, I spent alot of my time worrying what other people thought about me, growing up you realize that you're not the only one who cares so much what others think. A dental hygienist is the person who specializes in scaling and polishing teeth and giving advice on cleaning teeth. Your teeth are a very important part of your body and something you need to keep up on. As kids grow older from being teens to young adults they forget about things like that, going to get your teeth cleaned every 6 months. I want to help people make themselves feel good just like many of
My choice in careers seems now: to go from managing a tooth-decaying candy store to dreaming of cleaning teeth, would be a large leap on my effect of the tooth-health-spectrum. As a dental hygienist, it will be my job to clean people’s teeth, examine them for any type of oral disease, and to educate others on proper dental hygiene. To perform my job properly, it will be important to have high communication skills, a general knowledge of anatomy and diseases, and to have a close attention to detail.
My plans after completing high school is attending Southern University Shreveport Louisiana (SUSLA) or Stephen F. Austin State University (SFA) to become a dental hygienist. The entry level for this occupation is an associate’s degree and it takes up to three years to complete. A dental hygienist clean teeth, examine patients for signs of oral diseases such as gingivitis, and provide dental care. I have already started working on the path to reach my future occupation by taking up a dental assisting class at the Caddo Career & Technology Center (CC&TC).
Our teeth are some of the most overworked bones in our body. We use them to grind, gnaw, crush, and pulverize food every day. Despite this workload, we still expect our teeth make us look fabulous when smiling for the camera. Imagine life without teeth. Imagine life with false teeth. Would we smile as much? Would we still enjoy our favorite foods? Let’s explore these questions further as they have played major role in my short career as a registered dental assistant.
I plan to continue my education in the future and pursue the study of dental hygiene.
I hope to one day attend dental school, and as a dentist, I will provide my patients with the type of personalized care I received from my doctor. I aspire to be a skilled medical professional that makes a difference in people's everyday quality of life. I hope to treat people with the utmost compassion and respect, while providing care tailored to the particular needs of each patient. I believe that the University of Texas at Austin provides the best opportunity to take the next step in my journey, and I am ready to do great things with my education. Thank you for considering my
high school career. If I had not joined T-STEM, I strongly believe I would not

Walking into the Dental Center and seeing all the amenities students here have, as well as the helpful attitude of the faculty. On top of all that, the Dental Hygiene program here offers something that not many other places offer, and that is a bachelor’s degree. Being given the option of furthering my education after earning an associate degree appealed me and played a crucial role in my decision to enroll in the program.
Education is an important factor to succeed at my goal of becoming a dentist. The goal of going to dental school along with four years of undergraduate school at Northern Arizona University is a very ambitious goal. The reason why I have set such a drastic goal of becoming
