The helping and counseling roles can be both very rewarding and very challenging. You can find a helping or counseling role involved in many professions and institutions across the board. Some organizations even provide free counseling for their employees. I am currently working for cares of Washington in a helping role and I love it. In closing, I am a case manager for the mobile crisis team at DESC and a Job Developer for Cares of Washington. Mrs. Roche seemed to be the ideal Professional Counselor for me to interview because I have always thought if I were to go in to the helping field it would involve me becoming a Professional Counselor and running my own private practice. Mrs. Roche helped me to see the benefits of having your own private practice and also the nitty-gritty details that no one else wants to do or talks about. This interview also helped me learn that it’s okay to show your clients your reactions because it lets them know that you are human and that you are listening and understanding to their problem they have. She also helped me realized the importance of being there mentally and physically for your clients in session and out of session. This could mean squeezing them in at the end of the day or having a conference call or a Skype session, just as long as you are there when they need you the most. She also helped me understand that it is actually really rewarding when you do not really see a client anymore that has “graduated”. But when you occasionally seem them year-to-year, you know that they are okay and healthy and that you helped them to where they are
Everyone who is employed within this agency, which is roughly 75 employees among the Atascosa agency, must have obtained a BA in sociology or something similar. She explained the number one issue she faces with this career, is the idea that she is only one human being. She feels tied down at times because she is only human, and only able to do one thing at a time. She wishes to help those in need all day everyday. Their mission statement is a Christ-centered organization dedicated to assisting children and families in achieving their fullest potential through a continuum of program and services. She gave me the exact number of individuals they have helped to date, 10,883,327. This agency has such an intriguing story, which is why I chose this agency. Every dollar given to this agency makes a huge impact. The more this agency has, the more they return. They take the responsibility given to them under huge consideration and manage every aspect given. The heart of their vision is to be the hands and feet of Christ; to provide care, service and compassion that is pleasing to the Lord and honors his love for all

I was recently fortunate enough to speak with Carri Montgomery, who lists her title as the Director of the Women’s and Newborn Center for Platte Valley SCL Health. Platte valley use to be community owed and they recently joined Sister’s of Charity which includes; Good Samaritan, Lutheran, and Saint Joseph Hospital. We will identify what I believe is the best type of help for me when I am in a personal crisis. Describe the first time that I considered counseling as a career and what was happening in

For this assignment, my partner and I decided to interview a social worker whom led me to develop my aspiration for this career. Michelle Hayes is a private practice counselor, who has encountered much experience and knowledge through social work agencies, leading her to be very successful. For this assignment, I decided to interview Michelle Hayes, because not only did she counsel me, and positively impact my life, but I would be more than pleasured to be enlightened with knowing how she became so wise and successful, as well as why.
My clinical experience at Lewis Outpatient counseling Agency, provided me with exactly what I wanted, which was an opportunity to focus on utilizing and implementing the client-therapist relationship in order to enhance my therapeutic work and a chance to see how outpatient counseling could be delivered in a different setting. During the beginning, I found it challenging to get used to a new way of working, mostly given my relatively new caseload of mostly adolescent youths compared to my previous mental health positions, however the supportive counselling environment and excellent supervision gradually allowed me to feel more confident in what I was doing. I found I was able to adapt my existing skills appropriately, which, over time, made me realize how much I have learnt during my training and how helpful my knowledge can be to others.
On 06/23 I interviewed my supervisor, Ms. Celeste Johnson. She started college of like most college students do major wise, which was undecided. So she made a decision to pick education as her major but luckily for her she only took core classes, so she still had time to make a switch in majors before it got too late. The education major and social work major classes were in the same building, so she one day stumbled across what was a social work roundtable meeting and she was listing to the conversations which was more interesting to her than education so that is when she decided to make the change to social work. Ms. Celeste attended college at Troy State in Troy, Alabama. Her main goal that she had while going to school was to find an agency where she could move up in the social work

I chose to interview Dalton Collins and Dan Stilger. Collins is a student at IUS and Stilger is an assistant coach for the men’s basketball team. Both of them have strong, developed opinions on the gym facility at IUS.
