When I was younger I tried to get away with as much as possible. Even though after the deviousness I would feel extremely guilty for my behavior. I would sometimes sit and cry about what I had done. Guilt can be very stressful and cause people to act in ways they don’t normally do. “I've got a bad case of the 3:00 am guilts - you know, when you lie in bed awake and replay all those things you didn't do right? Guilt can drive people to their breaking point. “Returning were as tedious as go o’er.” Act 3 Scene 5 ~ So basically Macbeth is saying that he has gone too far and it would make it easier for him if he would just confess what he did than if he were to continue feeling guilty for himself. Macbeth is putting all this guilt on himself and it makes him go both crazy inside and out. Macbeth says this quote right after he sees Banquo’s ghost. Macbeth can’t hide his guilt from everyone else. Macbeth can’t keep it to himself so he acts in a crazy manner in front of everyone which shows he is very guilty from his actions.
