What is Project Management?
Project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements.
Project management processes fall into five groups: Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling and Closing. Meanwhile, Project management knowledge draws on Integration, Cost, Human resources, Stakeholder management, Time, Quality, Communications, Procurement and Risk management (Project Management Institute, 2015).

It would seem that this trend will soon be changing; however, as evidenced by the increasing number of members in professional PM organizations and the push from higher education towards a formal path along the PM career line.
There are a few organizations out there that are coming to realize the importance of finding and retaining talent in the department of project management. Research indicates that companies are beginning to develop career models and competencies to better prepare and train the people that will hold the roles of Project Manager within their organizations. These models will ultimately lead to better practices, which in turn will serve as a stepping stone for shortened lead times and/or time to market for increased client satisfaction. As these career models materialize and develop in more and more companies, this profession is likely to become more sought out by employees. Here I comes to know the different kinds of management in an organization and the roles and responsibilities of project manager, line manager, functional manager and sponsor.

The plan is used to ensure that all parties are working towards a common goal. Project management requires applying knowledge, skills, tools and techniques to specific activities in accordance with established standards and guidelines. There are five basic functions of project management: planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling. Basic activities of project management include: identifying project requirements to define the outcomes; addressing various needs, concerns and expectations of others; setting up, maintaining and carrying out communications; managing others; creating project deliverables; and balancing competing project constraints.
Project Management is an important part of project development. It deals with all the main areas for project development like Feasibility, Requirement analysis, Project Schedule, Project Plan etc. We have used the Project management approach to deal with all the series. It is achieved by proper selection of Software Life Cycle Model.
