During the revolutionary, many important things happened. The king of Great Britain was in charge of America at first. The king would place laws that were not fair at all to the colonists. Therefore, this made the colonists dislike the king. The king would make laws, that violate the colonist’s freedom, and put out new acts that would be worse than the previous one the colonists had petitioned against. The king of Great Britain has forced the colonists to do things they did not want to do. The king would put out different acts that would force the colonists to do that. Like, in the Declaration of independence, it states, “imposing taxes without our consent.” This shows how the colonists felt about the way the king, was raising taxes without
This is about the American revolution and the taxes the King of England put on the American colonists and how the American colonists thought that King George was a tyrant. The reason that writing this is to show how the American colonists reacted to the Acts that the King put on them. One of the laws was the sugar act of 1764 and the imports from Britain. There was also the stamp act of 1765 that made the colonists real mad . The result of the Tea act was the Boston tea party lead by the Sons of Liberty. The quartering act was the direct cause of the Boston massacre where eleven people were shot and five of them died.

The American colonies were originally loyal to Britain. Early on, however, King George called for some actions that sparked feelings of revolution. The French-Indian War had left severe consequences for Britain such as debt. The colonists were angered by the taxes and unjust treatment they were given so they decided to declare war on the British to become independent. Although some argue that King George’s power protected them, the American colonies were justified in breaking away from their British forefather because of the tyrannical acts of King George and his levying of taxes on goods in the American colonies.
During the tense times before the revolution the colonies were fed up with the monarchy of England. Many colonists were thinking of ways for the colonies to branch off and govern themselves. During the time before July 4th, 1776 the colonists were treated poorly by the english rule. England collected unfair taxes and took the many resources from the colonists. The people wanted more
The American Revolution was not just a war over independence but a political revolution that led to the separation between the colonies and Great Britain. The colonies were exhausted with all with acts that taxed them. Like the Revenue Act placed goods such as wool and hides, which had been previously trade freely with other European countries but now the trade had to go through England ending with high prices on the goods (Fonor 173). Moreover this created more issues one of them was not being able to buy from other cheaper trading goods companies and just relying on the high price on England goods an issue that was discussed in class on July 13. The revolution brought new changes to what has been a monarchical style of government over the
The harsh controls by the British towards the colonists led to a revolution by the Americans because of the unjust law called the Quartering Acts. Parliament declared to the colonists that they were responsible and required “to house and quarter the officers and soldiers in the barracks [for the British]”(Parliament). The Quartering Act instantly drove the colonists into disapproval. The angry colonists started to protest. They were furious about how they were the ones required to pay the funds for the British soldiers. They didn’t understand why they had to pay for beer and wine for the British troops, because those items were unnecessary for the war. Colonists tried to disobey and protest against the British government, however, the British government threatened the colonists that the Quartering Act would tax them even more if they were to disobey. Even so, the Patriots did not give in to the government. As a result, the Quartering Act made tempers rise from the Patriots. As the Quartering Act is proven to drive the colonists into ferocity, so did the Boston Massacre.

There were many tension building events that led up to the Revolutionary War, and some influenced the way the colonies acted more than the other colonies. Great Britain would acknowledge the policies for twelve years. The British empire now was fixing their quality of the thirteen colonies and that they were gaining across the Atlantic. Starting form some of the Townshend acts and imposition of taxes on the tea that was imported and re-exported. Followed by the reaction and the destruction of tea shipment in Boston and how the British spread control over Massachusetts after that. All of these grievances participated in the birth of the revolution and the call for independence. The outline is that the mother country didn’t realize that the colony has grown into independence and that they can’t protect the colonies and give them freedom and then take it away for
The American Revolution was revolutionary due to the effort that was put in to make the colonies independent from Great Britain. Great Britain had no right to demand taxes from the colonies, considering they barely paid any attention to them. For a while, the colonists were used to being on their own, having no one interfere with their decisions, but Great Britain barged in like they owned the place (even though they technically did). The colonists were being taxed unfairly, with no representation in Parliament. They demanded the same rights as other British subjects and they were going to receive it one way or another. After the American Revolution was won by the Americans, the Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of RIghts
The American Revolution was a massive change that occurred between the years 1765 and 1783. During this time, thirteen American colonies formed an independent country after they broke from the British Empire. The nation was then called the United States of America. The revolution resulted from a series of political and social transformations in the American society. It all started in 1765 where Americans rejected taxation without elected representation. Protests stirred up in 1773 and Britain imposed severe laws in 1774. The patriots then suppressed the loyalists and repelled all royal administration. Each colony got a new government and Britain sent troops to re-establish control in response. This led to the American revolutionary war where patriots fought against the British. These events made several thinkers discuss different concepts about the nature of man and government. These concepts influenced rebelling colonists in different ways. This essay seeks to look into the role of these ideas in American Revolution.

Oppression is the foundation of revolution. Injustice fuels revolutionary fervor in the oppressed. In the eyes of the colonists, the British oppressed the colonists. In the late Eighteenth Century, increased taxation and restrictions imposed by the British were intolerable actions. Many colonists saw these actions as unjust and oppressive. Increased political restrictions and economic exploitations resulted in increased revolutionary fervor. The oppression of the colonists during Britain’s seemingly tyrannical reign led to the American Revolution. Colonists were outraged by Britain’s disregard of the British Constitution displayed by taxes and restrictions. . Economic acts implemented by the British resulted in other complaints regarding the circumstances under which the acts were implemented. In other words, the American Revolution was comparatively not about money. Although America’s problems with Britain were seemingly economic, colonists cared more about political power and independence than taxation itself. Grievances expressed by colonists mostly reflected the a lack of representation, the minimization of colonial self-government, and the deprivation of rights. Consequently, the American Revolution was caused by British economic and political policies that led to unfavorable colonial opinions of the 18th Century British government.
The American Revolution was a conflict between the British empire and its American colonies that spanned from 1765 to 1783. There were many events that led up to the revolution, but there was one main cause. The mistreatment of the colonies was a main cause of the American Revolution. Within the colonies there were three actions that specifically displayed the mistreatment by the British. These three actions that displayed the mistreatment and caused the American Revolution include; taxation, lack of representation, and governing. Taxation by the British was viewed as mistreatment by the colonist because the colonists were being taxed for nearly everything from tea to stamps. Lack of Representation for the colonies in British politics was also seen as mistreatment because the British were violating the rights of the colonists without their consent. Finally, no government for the colonies was a mistreatment it was all run by the king. All of these mistreatments played a key role in starting the Revolution.
