Homework 1 1. Science is important to learn and study because it helps up to understand how things are created and function in the world. Events that happen in the natural world are explained based off of observation and experience. 2. I would have to agree chemistry is a central science because it can be used in different aspects of science such as biology, medicine, physics and more. It brings a lot of the sciences together. Chemistry connects those other parts of science such as physical science. An example would be the makeup of how medicine is created and also how the body chemistry uses the medicine into the body. 3. The scientific method is used during experiments to find a conclusion and or reason as to why an event or something happens. …show more content…
4. There are several parts to the experiment such as both the independent and dependent variables. The independent variable is controlled or changed during the experiment to test the effects on the dependent variable. The dependent variable is tested and measured during the test .A controlled variable is an example for an independent variable would be variable that is held constant throughout the experiment. An example is a theory that could extend a person’s life expectancy. The independent variable is the amount of vitamin given to the subject within the experiment. The dependent variable is the life span 5. Science peer review is important with the role that it plays in the experiment. It helps confirm the research, establish a method to be evaluated, and increase different kinds of possibilities within research groups. There are three types of peer review such as single blind, double blind and open review. Single blind is where only the participate doesn’t know if they are in the controlled group or treatment. Double blind is when both the participate and the experimenter are kept in the dark. An open blind is where both sides
As an Arab immigrant who was raised in the United States since he was seven years old, who lived in Michigan seeing Arabs everyday and never felt like he was in a foreign country; and moving to NYC in 2015, changed the whole style of my life. NYC the tremendous city that I couldn’t find the people that I knew and that I understood nor those that understands me because of our massive cultural differences, and believes. The biggest problem is when I started school in NYC. The school system was different because in NYC they had regents, also their credit requirements were different, for that I was behind in credits and didn’t know what was the regents. Also, I came to school almost at the end of the First marking period of the second semester of freshman year.
I can remember that day, sitting in the auditorium with my daughter. It was her sixth grade orientation for middle school. We moved in the middle of her fifth grade year to the next town, which was only twenty minutes away. Siting and watching as parents came in with their children. Unfortunately, my husband was out of town on business and I was five months pregnant. I recognized several of the people as they sat with their families and groups of friends.
For this assignment, I began logging my media usage on September 3th thru September 5th. Over the course of those two days, I used my laptop computer (online and off online), my android mobile device, television, and social media outlets. The most challenging aspect of this assignment was actually documenting the “spare of the moment” social media usage that occurred when I was walking to class or waiting on a meeting. However, it was truly an eye opening assignment that displayed how the media is not only a part of my everyday life, it consumes my life.
2. Why did you write this piece? Even if the piece began with a prompt-- you took it from there --where did your inspiration come from?
Please respond to the following questions pertaining to your chapter reading. Use complete sentences with proper grammar and mechanics. Save this template on your computer, type your responses in it, save again and submit to the appropriate link on the course site. The following questions are in regards to Mr. Morse and the three different teams working to meet the needs of students Jake and Marvin. You can find these questions and information regarding these questions on pages 23 & 24 in your textbook.
I was placed in a 2nd grade classroom at Bailly Elementary School for about 9 weeks. Bailly Elementary is a public school within the Duneland School Corporation of Indiana. It supports Kindergarten through 4th grade students, and currently serves about 450 students in 20 classrooms, one of which is a hearing-impaired class. The grade levels themselves are contained in separate parts of the building, each consisting of around 4 to 5 classrooms, similar to a pod-style layout. It has a counseling center for students to utilize at will and is equipped with aides and other specialists as needed. The facility has a full-sized library and gymnasium, along with a computer lab, and cafeteria.
As we all know, the growth of computer networks continues to rapidly grow. The digital revolution has changed the way we work and communicate almost beyond recognition. Provided that, foreseeing the changes and potential compatibility problems, in the mid nineteen eighties, the international standard organization (ISO) developed a networking reference model to standardize how network systems communicate with each other. It is a logical model for how network systems are supposed to communicate with each other. It breaks down the different components of the network communication and puts them into layers which reduce complexity. This reference model consists of seven layers: Application Layer, Presentation Layer, Session Layer, Transport Layer, Network Layer, Data Link Layer, and the Physical Layer. Each layer provides a service to the layer above it in the protocol specification and then communicates with the same layer’s software or hardware on other computers. It's important to realize, that these layers are separated into 2 sets: Transportation Set (Laters 1- 4) and Application Set (Layers 5 – 7). More importantly, the OSI model is 7 logical
This entity stores all information about active delivery runs, to include pickup and drop off dates, client’s making a request for service, and the receiving client (destination). This entity is the general correlationd point for other domain objects within the software.
Now let's represent M by an integer between 0 and n − 1. If the message is too long, sparse it up and encrypt separately. Let e, d, n be positive integers, with (e, n) as the encryption key, (d, n) the decryption key, n = pq.
¨The nurse said that you had a hole in your foot and shoulder Bill¨ I said suspiciously.
As discussed, following are the activities scheduled for 10 & 12th OCT’16, for which operational interruption is anticipated for execution.
How a variable operates depend on the research being conducted. The two major types of research are correlational and experimental research. Correlational research tries to indicate the relationship between two factor and see whenever the two factors are associated to one other or another. Experimental research finds the causation of the relationship between the factors. So basically, experimental allows researchers find the cause and effect in various
Once the hypothesis has been formed, experimentation can begin. Experimentation is the third step in the scientific research process. The experiment is designed to test the generated hypothesis and either supports or refutes it. The experiment takes the independent and dependent variables and tests them by manipulating the independent variable. As the independent variable is manipulated, the dependent variable is measured (Harris, 2008). In the training
Science is important because it explains “physical world in term instead of supernatural causes.” They use mathematics and logical thinking, which was off technology that was used by people every day in life. The first scientist was Thales Miletus who was called father of science because he was the first Greek philosopher to explain the seek at physical terms and understand why these things happen. There are kind of different kind’s science like zoology studies of animals, geography the study of earth and there are a lot more braches of science out there. Science we use in our daily lives we use the Idea of ancient Greece for our science to discover things every day in our lives, there are things that we still have not discovered today.
Before any experiment can be tested, all the required materials need to be gathered together. Then, a reasonable procedure should be written out to be able to perform the experiment. In a controlled experiment, every factor is held constant except for the single experimental variable. The single experimental variable is the one that is manipulated, while the dependent variable is the one that is constantly watched and measured. When designing an experiment, I learned it is important to include two groups of test subjects. The experimental group and the controlled group. This is the basis for comparison. Once the experiment is performed, making conclusions and
