On 08/04/16 at 8:42pm, I was dispatched to 2087 S. Hamilton Rd, on a injury dangerous or vicious dog/injured dog, serious injury, involving a Columbus Police Officer (CPD) being bit by a dog and shooting dog. I arrived at the location. I was advised my CPD personnel that the CPD Officer that was bite was transported to the hospital and that the dog was still breathing. I was escorted to the area where the dog was. The dog was on the ground, next to the dog was dog owner Jackie Fate. I was unable to see any visible injuries to the dog, the dog had shallow breathing. I asked Ms. Fate to wrap the leash around the dog’s mouth to prevent the dog from biting her or me while I placed the dog on the stretcher. The dog stood up on its front two legs, I asked Ms. Fate if she thinks she can walk the dog to my van. Ms. Fate stated she could try. I went to my van and proceeded to make room for the dog. Ms. Fate slowly walked the dog to the back of my van. Ms. Fate got the dog into my van and into a cage. I asked Ms. Fate if she had I.D, Ms. Fate stated she did and provided me with her ID. I asked Ms. Fate what happened, she stated that she and her boyfriend were arguing and he ended up taking the car. CPD Officers arrived on scene, as one of the CPD Officers was approaching Ms. Fate her dog charged at the CPD Officer, the CPD Officer than shot the dog. Ms. Fate stated that she had the dog tie up to a crate, I asked her again what it was tie up to, and Ms. Fate stated again it was tie up to a crate. The dog name diesel was current on dog license and vaccinations. I issued Ms. Fate a violation for failure to control a dangerous dog. I talk to CPD Officers on the scene, I was provided with the name of Tim Rines as my victim badge # 2433. One CPD Officer stated the injured appeared to be to CPD Officer Rines right arm. On 05/06/17, at 12:28pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 3162 E 5th Ave, on a dog on dog or cat attack no known owner of attack dog. I arrived at the location and met with the caller Carrie Samander and her boyfriend complainant Edward Oryan. I asked what happened, Mr. Oryan stated that he was walking his dog (grey/white Pit Bull) down the alley when the neighbor’s dog (white/brown Pit Bull) down the street (3189 E. 6th Ave) got loose and attacked his dog. Mr. Oryan dog protected him by getting in front of him and defending him against the pit bull. An unknown male Hispanic juvenile came out and tried to retrieve the white/brown pit bull. Mr. Oryan took his dog home and Ms. Samander than contacted the Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC). Ms. Samander stated that this is the second instance in the last few months that this white/brown pit bull got loose and attack her dog. Ms. Samander stated the injuries to her dog are minor but, that she will still be taking her dog to his injuries looked at. On 09/11/16 at 5:57pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 841 Crevis Lane on a possible nuisance dog; dog still at large, threat to safety. I arrived at the location and spoke to complainant John Haywood. Mr. Haywood stated that he was going to his vehicle to put his daughter car set in when the neighbor’s dog came from behind him and started growling and barking at him. Mr. Haywood ran into the garage to get away. He contacted Franklin County Animal Care and Control due to the dog being previously designated dangerous. Mr. Haywood recorded the dog loose near his vehicle. I advised Mr. Haywood if he know if the dog was still loose, Mr. Haywood was unsure. I advised him I will need to check with the dog owners to make sure the dog has return home and I will return to talk to him.
On 08/26/16 at 1:48pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was patrolling the 900 Block of Heyl Ave when I saw a black and white Chihuahua running loose with no known dog owner around. I followed the dog to 969 Heyl Ave where dog owner Donna Hanes open the door and let the dog inside. Ms. Hanes stated that the dog must have gotten loose when it was in the back yard. I asked Ms. Hanes if her dog was current on dog license and vaccinations, Ms. Hanes stated he was not. I issued Ms. Hanes violations for failure to license and failure to vaccinate her dog name Tito.
On 06/20/17 at 1:50pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was patrolling the 2100 Block of Lynbridge Drive when I saw a brindle/white pit bull running loose in the area. I took pictures of the dog loose. I exited my vehicle and chase the pit bull to the backyard of a fence in house. I placed a leash on the pit bull and put her in my vehicle. The pit bull had no identifying tags to indicate ownership. I transported the dog to the Franklin County Animal Shelter (FCACC). Dog owner Devon Gordon redeemed the dog on 06/24/17. Ms. Gordon did not show proof of dog license or vaccinations. I issued Ms. Gordon violations for failure to license, failure to vaccinate and failure to control her dog name Baby.
On 05/08/18, at approximately 10:56am, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched to 4514 Starrett Court on a dangerous or vicious dog investigation (dog owner owner's address). I arrived on scene at approximately 11:25am. I met with victim Syed Naque, who stated he was outside his resident when a medium size dog (black) came up from behind him and bit him on his right thigh. Mr. Naque stated the dog continue to come at him in a aggressive manner even after he went inside the house, the dog would charged the side door. On 07/14/16 at 7:07pm, I was dispatched to 1494 Cypresswood Court on a dog at large patrol only. I was arrived at the location and was flagged down by the complainant. The complainant stated the dog was running loose near Dublin Granville Road, her and her husband chase the dog in this general area to prevent the dog from getting hit by a car. The dog was in the backyard of 1494 Cypresswood Court. I enter the backyard and was able to place a leash on the dog. I place the dog in my van. Dog owner Heather Davis reclaimed the dog on 07/15/2016. Ms. Davis was unable to show proof of dog license and vaccinations. I issued Ms. Davis violations for failure to license, failure to vaccinate and failure to control.
On 10/03/17, at approximately 7:35am, I Deputy Warden N. Christian with Franklin County Animal Care and Control (FCACC) was dispatched to the area of 5232 Freedom Ridge Drive on a dog at large, patrol only. I arrived in the area and saw a pit bull (brown/white) matching the description of the dog running loose at the above listed address. I stopped my vehicle and proceeded to check the address where the dog was at. The pit bull was tied up at that location. At that moment a unknown female came outside and headed towards her car. I pulled up and asked if the pit bull belong to her. She stated that her son who resides at that location is holding the pit bull for a friend, but that the friend left without indicating what to do with the pit
On 11/22/16, at 4:02pm, I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to the 600 block of Bedford Ave on dog at large patrol only. I arrived in the area and saw two dogs, one a small mix breed black and white and a tan and white pit bull, in the front of 681 Bedford Ave. I exited my vehicle and slowly approached the house. I knocked on the dog. Dog owner Robin Holmes-Muhammad answered the door. I asked if the two dogs on her porch belong to her, she stated that they did. I advised Ms. Holmes-Muhammad that we received a complaint that the dogs were running loose. Ms. Holmes-Muhammad apologized and took both dogs inside the house. Ms. Holmes-Muhammad stated that the tan/white pit bull does not really belong to her it was on her front porch
Their dog intention was not to attack the other dog but to play with it. They stated the victim dog started the attacked and had their dog by the neck. Ms. Diverlbliss husband was hitting the victim dog with his crutches to get the dog to let go of his dog. Mr. Divelbliss stated that Mr. Todd was unable to get his dog to let go of his and was trying to open his dog mouth with his hands resulting in his injuries. The dogs were eventually separated. Ms. Diberlbliss was unable to show proof of a dog license or vaccinations. I confirmed with Fairfield County Deputy Sheriff J. Warner to determine if that was the story he was presented, he confirmed it was. Deputy Sheriff J. Warner also talked to the victim via phone advising me that the offending dog bite him. Deputy Sheriff J. Warner is a witness to Mr. Todd stating that the offending dog bite him. I issued Ms. Divelbliss violations for failure to license, failure to vaccinate and failure to control a dangerous dog. Ms. Divelbliss dog name Holly was designated dangerous. I went to Grant Hospital to talk and take pictures of Mr. Todd injuries. Mr. Todd had visible injuries to his right and left hand front and back, and an injury to his right leg in the vicinity of his knee. I took pictures
Initially, the dog’s chain was caught on a small tree branch, along the rear fence line, which permitted the dog was able to travel a short distance, between the alley and the back yard, through a hole in the fence. The dog showed aggressive behavior toward the officers, which included displaying its teeth, barking, growling, biting the wooden and chain link fencing, and charging the officers. The dog eventually hopped the chain link fence, into the back yard, and charged at Officers Daugherty and Miller. I arrived at the location and spoke to complainant Honora Wright. Ms. Wright stated that early that day, she was outside unloading her car. Ms. Wright dog was outside with her trying using the . Ms. Wright noticed two dogs unleashed near her house, she commanded her dog to go inside. As her dog was moving towards the house, a Mastiff and a Labrador mix came towards her dog. On 06/24/17 at 1:31pm I Deputy Warden N. Christian was dispatched to 1389 S Roosevelt Ave, on a dog at large, patrol only. I arrived in the area and was flagged down by the complainant. Complainant stated that a medium mix brown dog has been running loose for the last few days. I drove around the area, and saw a dog matching the complainant description on the 1300 Block of Sherbrooke Place. I took a picture of the dog loose. I exited my vehicle and talked to a few neighbors who stated that they don’t know where the dog lives. I tried to coach the Sharpei to come to me with doggie treats, the Sharpei would come within 2 feet of me than ran away. I repeatedly tried to get the Sharpei to come to me but to no avail. I returned to my vehicle to retrieve my snare pole. I slowly approached the Sharpei again and it proceeded to run from me, first heading east through backyards to S Roosevelt. I followed the Sharpie to S. Roosevelt Ave where I redirected it to Sherbrooke Place.

Anthony stated he does know where the pit bull lives. I placed a leash on the pit bull and placed her in my vehicle. The pit bull had no identifying tags to indicate ownership. I transported the pit bull to FCACC. Dog owner Robert McMaster redeemed the pit bull name Ruby on 09/12/17. Mr. McMaster did not show proof that Ruby was current on dog license or vaccinations. I arrived at the location and an unknown male individual had possession of a grey and white pit bull. I took possession of the pit bull and placed her in my vehicle. The pit bull had no identifying markers indicating ownership. As I was processing the pit bull, Samba Diallo approached me and stated the pit bull attacked his son Aliou Diallo. I spoke to Mr. Diallo and his son. Aliou stated that the pit bull jumped out of a vehicle (red and black Sports Utility Vehicle) parked in the parking lot and chased him.
