Document D shows, “They are two-star crossed lovers who live apart from each other because of the war between the Montague and the Capulet family that results in death in order to be resolved.” This relates to when Juliet was upset with Father Capulet because he has made arrangements for her to marry Paris. Lord Capulet is unaware of Juliet liking an enemy from a different family. In addition, he also does not know that his daughter is in love with a banished lover who happened to kill Juliet's cousin. This action causes Juliet to fake her death with a sleeping drug. Due to being far away from his wife, Romeo hears about this news and commits suicide by drinking poison. A couple of moments later Juliet wakes up to find Romeo dead. Afterwards, she commits suicide by stabbing herself with a sword. When these deaths are seen, it causes the Montagues and the Capulets to come together. Romeo and Juliet's death could have been avoided if the fathers had stopped the feud between the two
Romeo and Juliet first met each other at a party at the Capulets house. They fall in love with each other at the first sight without knowing that they are from families who hate each other, and when they do learn about it, it is too late. Juliet realizes that it was a mistake to fall in love with Romeo, because he is one of the people she should watch out for. He is her first and only love, but he is an enemy of her family. Lucky for Romeo, Juliet is smart, and such dumb thing as hate between their parents wouldn't stop her from loving Romeo and getting married with him. She is sorry that their families are enemies, though, because everything would be much easier if they weren't. So this is the first time when the hate between Capulets and Montagues becomes problem to Romeo and Juliets happiness. Only after their children die, the Montagues and Capulets come to their senses. The Prince accuses them of killing Romeo and Juliet. The Prince makes them see how wrong they were all the time, that all because of their hate, because they couldn't let their children love each other, Romeo and Juliet died. After that, Capulets and Montagues decide to call it quits. No more fighting, and Montague even says that he will make a gold statue of Juliet, but what is that going to do? It is too late, nothing will bring them back. It is totally Capulets' and Montagues' fault that Romeo and Juliet died. If they didn't hate each other so much,
Juliet’s father forces Juliet to marry Paris, and if she does not he threatens to leave her to ‘hang, beg, starve, die in the streets’. This arranged marriage with one she does not love compels Juliet to find an urgent resolution, and this resolution contributes to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. The families’ feud contributes to the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, as they know that their relationship must remain unknown. The feud leads to delusion and deceit, and their eventual death. Ultimately, the feud between the families makes their deception necessary and inevitable; but this deception leads to their untimely deaths.
Additionally, after Romeo’s marriage with Juliet he gets in the middle of a fight. If Romeo did not engage in the brawl between Mercutio his best friend and Tybalt his opposing rival, they would still have a fair chance at survival. Mercutio engages in a fight with Tybalt on Romeo’s behalf because Romeo refuses to fight Tybalt, since Tybalt is now Romeo’s cousin-in-law. In addition, Romeo attempts to break up the progressive fight, but his actions are futile. Furthermore, Romeo getting among Mercutio and Tybalt does more harm than good because Mercutio dies. The only explanation of how Mercutio dies is that Tybalt is able to pierce Mercutio’s chest under Romeo’s arm. Romeo blocks Mercutio’s view, leaving him defenseless and feeble.
There are three characters in the story of Romeo and Juliet that take some and most of the blame on the death of the two Romeo and Juliet. Two of the characters take some of the blame while the third character takes all of the blame. The two characters that take some of the blame are Lady Capulet And Lord Capulet. Lady Capulet is married to Lord Capulet and have a daughter named Juliet. The third person that takes most of the blame for their death is not a person at all. It is fate. These three characters are the reason why Romeo and Juliet take their lives. ("DBQ: Romeo and Juliet: Who's to Blame". Doc.B,A,D)
Who’s to Blame? In the story of Romeo and Juliet a pair of Star-crossed lovers meet and married only to find out that things will not turn out so well in the end. As all people do when something bad happens, the blame someone. There are a few people to blame for this tragedy.
There he was, lying in agony in the dark and weary night, next to his beloved's tomb in the ominous cemetery. Seeing the vile creature, Death, take away her soul from his hands. Death insisted to come with him with his hands filled with the white bones of the dead, he came along without hesitation. The well-known tragedy, Romeo, and Juliet by William Shakespeare was a transcendent illustration of the effects of the underdeveloped adolescent brain. The two star-crossed lovers had their destiny planned in front of them. The tragic and mournful deaths of Romeo and Juliet resulted from their impromptu love taking over their everyday lives. Romeo laid on the murky ground of the cemetery, weeping in front of the tomb of Juliet and he would soon kill
William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright, widely known for being the greatest writer in the english language (William Shakespeare par. 1). William Shakespeare’s play, Romeo and Juliet tells the story between two star crossed lovers, who fall in love despite their families hating each other. The Capulet’s are to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because of the feud between the two families, misunderstanding Juliet’s feelings, and the urge to punish Romeo for Tybalt’s death.
To begin with to the statement made earlier about the claim that the Montague's and Capulet's were responsible for the death of their children. If both families didn’t have an ancient grudge bot4h of the children wouldn’t have died. The both families had an ongoing grudge that didn’t allow them to be married to one family to the other. In document A, “Two Households”, it states in the third line “From ancient grudge break to new mutiny.” Proving that both families had or have a grudge and that made the turn into a war. Making both households have a fight. Finally, if anyone had any contact with the opposing family they will be killed probably making Romeo and Juliet very scared to be together.
Who is to blame for the tragedy of “Romeo and Juliet?” That question is answered by three people: Lord Capulet, Lady Capulet, and Lord Montague. Here is why: All three of these people killed Romeo and Juliet in a different way.
Male characters use their narrative voices to show an enthusiastic response to the one they feel an attraction towards in many different ways. “Michelle”a song performed by Sir Paul McCartney is about the attraction that a male character has towards his lover and uses the language of love to convey it to her . In the song “Michelle” it is about the love and endearment that a man feels towards his lover that probably could not articulate English therefore he, uses another language to make her understand the pure emotions that he feels towards her. Likewise, in The play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare it involves two forsaken lovers and their desire for one another. In the play Romeo and Juliet Romeo express his utmost joy the first time he laid eyes upon her and believes that she is better than any
As the fight is getting more and more intense, Romeo, Mercutio’s best friend, intervenes in the fight. He steps in between both Tybalt and Mercutio, and while he is in the way, Mercutio gets stabbed by Tybalt. The moment Mercutio gets stabbed, he becomes furious with Romeo for getting in his way of the fight. Even though Romeo was trying to help Mercutio stay out of trouble, he was the only reason that Mercutio got stabbed. His last few words to his beloved best friend, Romeo, was, “A plague o’ both of your households!” (Act III, Sc. 1). This shows foreshadowing of the two lover’s fatal end because he cursed the two household to have a horrible life. Also, a “plague” of sadness will indeed strike the two households when Romeo and Juliet take their
William Shakespeare’s ‘Romeo and Juliet’ published in 1597, is a play revealing the themes of love and tragedy as two lovers Romeo and Juliet are deeply in love with each other however their love is doomed as they are from two feuding families; the Montagues and Capulets. At the end of the play, Romeo’s impatience and rashness causes the death of himself as well as Juliet’s. This can be supported by three main events during the play. Firstly, Romeo’s decision of attending the enemy’s party without any thought, secondly, Romeo knew that falling in love with a Capulet was to be ended heavily, and lastly, Romeo receives a warning from Balthasar about his future if he continues to take his actions quickly.
Two families, Capulets and Montagues, who have been fighting for years, finally change when Romeo and Juliet die. Romeo and Juliet first meet at a Capulet party and at first glance they fell in love. Despite the feud between their families, they still will do anything to be together, but when Romeo kills Tybalt he is banished. The Friar and Juliet make a plan so they can be together and this plan goes terrible wrong and Romeo and Juliet and up both dead. The death and love of Romeo and Juliet bring the families together. Overall, Romeo and Juliet’s love was positive because they did not care that their families are enemies, they are committed to each other, and they would rather kill themselves so they can be with the other person.
It then gets out of hand and Mercutio is left dead by a jab from Tybalt who refuses to stop, so in return Romeo kills him. To state, Romeo being married to Juliet feels that he should love his new family including Tybalt so wants to resolve the dispute. However, maybe Mercutio having platonic love for his friend Romeo Stands up for him. This shows that love can lead violence because of Romeo trying to help his valued friend and family get along it causes both of their deaths.
When the Capulets and Montagues walk into Juliet’s tomb they find Juliet and Romeo dead beside each other. The two families realized that the deaths of their only children were because of the hatred between their families it caused them to stop despising each other. The evidence for this is in Scene 5 Act 3 when Capulet says “O brother Montague, give me thy hand: This is my daughter's jointure, for no more can I demand.” Here he is saying to Montague that we need to come to a state of peace as that is all my daughter wanted. This shows that Romeo and Juliet’s love has made the two families realize that they need to end their feud. They both state that they will put a statue of Romeo and Juliet in pure gold as Capulet says they were the “poor sacrifices of our enmity.” He is saying that they were the sacrifices to make their feud. This is evident as because of Romeo and Juliet’s true love they lost their lives to be together but has ending with the two families coming to peace. Even though the deaths of these two young lovers was what made the families hatred finally end, Romeo and Juliet could have survived if the families didn’t hate each other. Evidence of this is when the Prince says, “Capulet! Montague! See what a scourge is laid upon your hate, that heaven finds means to kill your joys with love! And I, for winking at your discords, too have lost a brace of kinsmen. All are punished.” Here he is saying that because of the families hate it has lead to the deaths of many and they all must be punished. Capulet and Montage are one of the main reasons for Romeo and Juliet’s death as there would have been no reason for Romeo and Juliet to hide their love. If the two families have just resolved their differences a long time ago Romeo and Juliet could have lived happily together but they sadly realized this after they lost their
